The Treason of Isengard (Re-read)

In this 7th book of the History of Middle Earth the story of Lord of the Rings continues to take shape. Here's a few interesting ideas Tolkien had when writing the epic series:

1) Galdor was the original name for Legolas

2) Before it was Gimli, Gloin is said to have been the one who joined the Fellowship of the Ring.

3) Tolkien was still unsure if he was going to put Treebeard's character in the books. At one point he even considered having Pippen and Merry have an adventure in Minis Tirith instead.

On top of all that there's even some notes on the Elfen language which was fascinating to read. Again, this series is worth your time!
