Life After the Navigator (Review)

My brother actually told me about this one a few months ago and I watched it soon after. It's a behind the scenes look at how the movie was created and the sad tale of Joe Cramer, the kid who starred in it.

I say "sad' though it does have a happy ending, it talks about the rough life he led shortly after the movie all the way up to being arrested for bank robbery in spending 10 years in jail.

Crazy stuff but worth the watch if you loved the movie.

Have a good weekend folks!

Weezer: Ok Human Album review

Surprised this one came out a few months ago and I forgot to do a review about it.

This album was recorded during the pandemic so Rivers could show the world how to put your free time to good use. Even though Van Weezer is DONE it still won't come out to next month. I don't know why they did this first, but who knows.

This is more of a "B Song" album but to be honest, it's pretty good. Full orchestra playing with them on the tracks. No "pop" hits on the album but good enough "slow" songs that it makes it worth your time to listen to. Especially if you're a Weezer fan.

The Sweatbox (Review)

Finally got a chance to view this long lost documentary about the making of what would eventually become the Emperors New Groove.

But did you know they made an entirely different movie before Disney totally dismantled it and had them remake it all over again?

Yep. It starred Owen Wilson and had all original music by Sting! I was floored watching this and you will to (if you like Disney animated movies that is)

Well worth your time.

Can we PLEASE have a recall and vote this CLOWN out of office?!?

I'm done with this bozo "leading" our state.

Shows I want to rewatch soon.

There's a lot of TV out there but here are the shows I can't wait to watch again!

Babylon 5

Now that HBO Max has re-edited the special effects, NOW is the perfect time to rewatch this series!
Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Megan's been begging me to watch this. It's good and it's about due for a re-watch so I probably will.
Angel

Because if I re-watch Buffy, I have to re-watch this one as well. DUH!

Batman (1966)

I'm not kidding. This is at the top of my list right now. I love it and can't wait to watch it again!

Zombies!!! Card ideas (3)

Ok, these are the last ones....for now.

Crane Kick

Auto Zombie Kill (If done correctly) Discard after use.
Hell Raiser

Play Immediately. At the beginning of your turn lose one heart and get back to back turns. If you die, place token blank side up on your spot and this card over to the side. The next person passing over the tile MUST pick up the card and do the same. (I love this idea)
Zombie Herd

Place 25 zombies on the board.
Trade

Force a trade with another player in the game. You must give them an active card or one from your hand in exchange

Pole Vault

At the beginning or end of your movement, you may jump over building to the next available street that is one tile away.

Ok, that's all I have for now!

Double Trouble (Item)

Roll both dice after your turn. If you roll doubles, take another turn.

Jetpack Joyride

Roll dice, move one tile for each space. Discard when used.

Roller Blades

Double movement on all rolls.

Horse

Double movement on all rolls.

Pure Adreniline

Place 3 hearts on the card, discard one before you roll for movement and triple the number. Discard after use.

Have a good weekend folks!

I watched a video of folks saying "What's so hard about wearing a mask?!" Totally missing the point, that's not why folks don't want to wear them.

We don't want to wear masks because they've been proven several times in multiple studies that they DON'T WORK.

I love how people say not to fear the vaccine since blood clot percentages are so low.....oh wait, they're only 1/5 as less common as dying from COVID.

So in essence;

99.9% = Don't panic

99.7% = Run for your lives we're all going to die!

Listening to the Governor's message on COVID-19 is scary. This maniac is trying to convince people that vaccination is the only way to protect them from the other versions of COVID.

It's a straight out and out lie. I'm shocked that he'd stoop so low to convince others to vaccinate. Shameful.

Zombies!!! Card ideas (1)

I know, I know. I can't help it. It's a great game and I keep coming up with new ideas for it. Here's some card ideas I had for future games.

Brass Knuckles

+1 in combat
Claymore Sword

+1 in combat
Hockey Stick

+1 in combat
Gold Club

+1 in Combat

I know those are all weapons suggestions but going forward the rest have to deal with movement.

Blasted Samoflange

Based off of an inside joke from Thundercats, I'd include something like a device (not as featured here) and have it be a "play immediately" card where they must switch places with someone else on the board.

I'll be back with a few more tomorrow.

Million Dollar Arm (Movie review)

Finally got a chance to watch this movie after a few years of hearing about it. I believe it was one of Bill Paxton's last films to make too.

It's based off the true story of a struggling sports agent who goes to India to find the first ever MLB prospects.

It's pretty good and shows pictures and videos of the real life characters afterwards. Not a bad film. Worth your time if you're looking for something to watch.

Real Life Spoilers: Both pitchers only lasted a season in the MLB before moving on to other things. Oddly enough, one's now a wrestler for WWE!

The Two Jakes (review)

Chinatown got a sequel 16 years later with this movie. Directed and starring Nicholson. Lots of great one liners, got shots and compelling story that keeps your interest the whole time. I know this bombed in theaters but it's actually a better movie than the first one I believe.

To bad too because I heard they had another one planned called Ghetti vs Ghetti but due to the poor box office numbers from this, it never came to fruition.

Oh well. Still worth watching.

Chinatown (Review)

Believe it or not I've never seen this movie before. Just recently thought about it and decided to give it a try. It's an older Nicholson film from 1974 a detective noir about a guy who accepts what he thinks is a simple case but turns out to be much more.

It's a pretty good film and worth watching if you haven't seen it before. Though the ending could've used a bit more but overall, not bad.

Board games I'd like to play

Since everyone's so scared of a 99.7% Survival rate, all my board game conventions have been canceled yet again.

So here's the games I wish I could play before deciding to add them to my collection.

Worker placement game about putting on a magic show in the 19th century. It looks amazing but a little too heavy, so I want to play it to see if its worth getting.
Silly stupid, Queen Games game about collecting Queen games.....which is exactly what I do. Which is why I want to play it.
Real time action game. I'm slightly interested in seeing how this plays. I have Project Elite so I'm not sure if I need to add anything else like that to my collection.
I love the books. I love the look of this game....but it looks AWFUL! However, I've decided I have to try it none-the-less.
Another Queen Game that's gnawing on me to pick up. Looks interesting but no good review on the game so I need to try it first to see how it plays.
Super cheap on Amazon right now, but again, I need to play this one before buying it.
A good friend recommended this one to me but I'm not a big fan of card games, so I'll have to test it out first before making a decision on it.

Like before, I have plenty of dungeon crawl games but I hear nothing but great things about this one, so I'll try it and if it's good....I'll have to spend a butt load of money.

Another Queen Game that's always looked interesting to me but I really need to play it before deciding if it should stick in my collection.

Kudos to Jim Jordan

For sticking it Fauci and his consistent methods of fear mongering. Remember folks, Fauci is the man who promised life would be back to normal if we shut down for 15 days....then he added social distancing....then masks.....then double masks (with constant lockdowns) now he wants everyone vaccinated BUT says that won't be enough. You still have to wear mask and social distance afterwards.

Good for Mr Jordan for calling him out on his 100% CRAP that he's been feeding Americans for over a year. He's a pompous wanna-be dictator who needs to be stopped.

COVID numbers on the rise!

But only in states with strict mask mandate's and social distancing.

Fun fact: ALL states open 100% WITHOUT mask mandates? They're at the bottom of the chart in total number of cases at the moment.

(Crickets from the media on this)

Facts aren't fun to report on.

Songs of Faith

Bobby Horton also recorded a few of these albums as well. We had the first one and listened to it a lot. Listening to it again, I think it's one of my favorite albums ever from him!
Once again I was pleasantly surprised to see a 2nd album from this series that I never knew about as a kid. Though not as good as Volume one, it's still worth a listen.

Ok, no more Bobby Horton music reviews. Moving on!

Songs of the Christmas Season

Turning back to Bobby Horton, he also release 2 Christmas albums. The first one we had as kids and was always played around the house during the season. I listened to it back in January for the first time and years and it was great. I absolutely loved it.

The 2nd album was another surprise for me. I never knew he made it and was also pleased to hear it for the first time back in January. Just as good as the first. From here on out both of these albums will be played around the season in my house.

Wonderful music!

Run Hide Fight (Review)

I remember watching the trailer and saying "no thanks" but after a few recommendations I decided to give it a try.

Good film. Solid performances all around and not what I expected. It's not perfect however. I think the ending fell flat to me but the rest of the movie is incredibly engaging and worth your time overall. It's almost a high school version of Die Hard, which made it a good movie I think.

Awesome flick.

Songs of the CSA

Growing up around the house, Bobby Horton's Homespun Songs of the CSA was a staple for us. We must have listened to the first album alone over 100 times.

Volume 2 was just as good and listened to just as much. it bears my favorite song "Join the Calvary" on it. This was also the only cover change they ever made to the volumes. The ones going forward reflected similar covers as the first but with a different background color.

The 3rd volume was good too and "Eating Goober Peas" was my favorite track on the album. Getting to hear these again on Amazon music has been great!

This was the last album Dad got when we were young. I remember thinking it being red (my favorite color) that it would be my favorite. But it ended up being my least favorite. I played it as a kid but not as much as the previous 3. Now that I'm older I appreciate it a lot more and see it as a solid album.

Imagine my surprise when I found out years later Bobby Horton would release 2 more albums!! Listening to this one was like discovering deleted scenes from your favorite movie. I loved it!

The 6th and seemingly final album was also good. The last track on it being one of my favorites of all time. I don't know if Dad knows these even came out or still listens to old Bobby Horton's albums still but I was sure to tell him about them the moment I found out myself!

They're saved to "My Music" and are now part of my rotation of songs I listen to every once in a while. Very peaceful and fun music. Glad to have it back in my life!
