The Shadow Rising

This was one big beast of a book! But I finally finished it and have to say it gets better with each volume! I love how Jordan strays away from the main character (Rand) in the last 2 books and focus' more on the other 2 boys in the story. Mat (Book 3) and Perin (Book 4)

He really starts to developing them evenly through the series so that you're interested in all 3 instead of just Rand. It's working too. I love it!

Can't wait to tackle the next one!

Stupid YouTube NEVER publishes things right! Here's the trailer..

Worst Cereals

So Monday I spoke about what my favorite cereals are. So what are the worst? Let's go over them today:

Coco Puffs: Blech! How can you go wrong with a chocolate breakfast cereal? Just conger up a bowl of this and you'll see how.

Fruit Loops: I have no love for any cereal that looks like a gay pride Cheerio.

Kix: Possibly the worst cereal ever made. Not only in taste but these things get soggy in mere seconds after the milk is poured. Terrible product!

Ohs: Any cereal that taste like vomit has GOT to be on anyone's "Worst List"

Trix: Kinda funny how I love Fruity Pebbles but despise just about any other fruity cereal huh? As far as I'm concerned the Rabbit can have these nasty things!

What about you? Any super nasty cereals you'd like to add to the list?

I'm all ears...

Star Wars Episode VII Trailer 2015

Pretty keen video someone put together using video game footage. Looks nice so I thought I'd share.

Me vs YouTube

As some of you may know, I've had a "tiff" with YouTube which ended up with them suspending my account.

After a short talk with a rep (and several threats thru email) I finally got them to restore my account. So you can go back to watching all of my old videos once again.

I'm not sure when I'll be posting vids on there again, I'm still hot over what happened but give me a few months and I may warm back up to the idea.

Ok, just wanted everyone to know the good news. C-ya!

Comic Con Craziness

So if you didn't already here, the San Diego Comic Con sold out in an hour and a half AGAIN this year and I didn't even bother trying to get tickets. To be honest I don't want to go. It's not a big deal to me and if I had one to pick every year it would probably be Dragon Con because I had the most fun at that one.

But for those bozo's out there, you can scalp a ticket from someone for only $2000. So go out there and knock yourself out!

Episode 7 rumors

Looks like Ford is in or so reports have said. Another rumor is that the plan is to kill Solo off in Episode 7.

Interesting.

Ford's always wanted Han to die but Lucas wouldn't allow it. Now that George is out of the command chair I wonder if Harrison's finally going to get his way.

Should be interesting to see...

Best cereals!

Today I want to talk about my favorite cereals. In no particular order...here we go!

Boo Berry: I've always been a fan of Boo Berry creal ever since I was a kid. The other "monster" cereals are ok, but this one is tops to me! Everyone October I always go out and buy a box or two to celebrate. Since it's only a seasonal cereal now I think that's what keeps it in my top five.

Cheerios: Who doesn't love these suckers?!I love Cheerios plain or with honey...but I hate Honey Nut Cheerios. Isn't that odd?

Cookie Crisp: Just looking at that bowl I could HAVE SOME right now! A box of this at my house doesn't last long I can tell you that.

Corn Chex: Not Wheat and definitely not Rice, just the Corn Chex are the ones I love the best. That yellowly goodness, GET IN MY MOUTH! Love'em!

Fruity Pebbles: Last but definitely not least is this one. My all time favorite! Coco Pebbles are ok too but nothing can compare to my Fruity Pebble goodness!

So what about you? Got any favorite cereals worth mentioning that are better than these?

I doubt it!

New Year's Eve Party (3)

Wah-oh! Line dancing!

Everyone but me that is. I don't know any of these dances anymore!

Of course, I really didn't know any growing up besides the "Hokey Pokey" either so... hmmmm.

That's all for today folks! C-ya tomorrow!

New Year's Eve Party (2)

We had quite a few people at this thing. I was surprised at how many. Thankfully everyone had a good time, no one was hurt and Megan wants to throw another one next year.

YIKES!!

New Years Eve Party (1)

Howdy folks! Today I just wanted to post a few vids of our New Years Eve party we had last month that didn't end till 5am.

I'm still trying to get over it.

Anyway, here's Caleb and Shonda playing Beer pong...yet no one drinks the beer....is that how you're supposed o play it?!

More to come though out the day.

Back to the old look

Geez to frag! I tried to look up a past video from my blog and it was dang near impossible to do it on that format so I'm switching back to the old beautiful blue!

Dragon Reborn!

I'm really getting into this story! The books are really good and I'm curious to see where the story slows down. I love how well thought out Robert Jordan's world is.

Next up is an 890 page doozy for Book 4!

App of the Week!

Temple Run 2

WHAAAAAT? They made a sequel to this game?! Am I that out of the loop now with new apps?! Had no idea about this and I LOVED the first one. This one is even better!

Better look, better ideas for game play, better everything! If you didn't get the first one I recommend you get that one first, dominate it for a little while then get the sequel and send me a thank you letter afterwards.

Have a good week folks!

Star Wars Spin Off Movies

So let's talk about these Star Wars movie spin offs that Disney is teasing everyone with.

Boba Fett, Young Han Solo and Yoda origin have been hinted at. How do I feel about that? Fine.

Boba Fett would be a pre-ESB movie starring him on the hunt for a bounty I'm sure. Yoda's origin would be interesting since it was one of the stories Lucas had on his "off limits" list for years and though I'm not crazy about the idea of some tween poorly imitating a character Harrison Ford made legend, I still think the story could show potential.

Still for me it all hinged on where they're going with Episode 7. Plus, they can't keep doing prequels of past characters and start telling stories of new ones. I still believe they should leave all characters and story lines from past established movies 150 years in the past and come up with their own imaginative ideas. Isn't that why Lucas handed the keys to the kingdome over to them in the first place?!

Hold your breathe folks, I'm sure we'll be getting hit with tons of news over the next couple of months as to where they intend to go with all of this.

Party Central

Megan wanted to stop by this store this weekend to look around. Some neat stuff inside but check this out; color coded candy. Starting with gummi bears and moving over to m&m's and everything else.

Nuts!

Scifi Expo

So this weekend we went to the Scifi Expo in Dallas. This was really all the footage I got because we only came so Megan could get these autographs and get back in time to watch the premiere of Walking Dead at our house.

One more video coming later...

Do you remember TG&Y?

Remember back in the day listening to our parents talk to other parents about the "good ole days" well dang, now I'm talking that way now.

TG&Y was my store as a kid. I loved their toy selection and would stay in it the whole time until Mom came to pick us back up. (don't worry she was in the store)

I was bummed when they eventually closed down in our small town of Forest, MS but that was back in the day when Wal-Mart had just moved in and I guess it was destined to happen. Though I'll have to check on Mom about this but I think TG&Y and just a good deals on their stuff as TG&Y did!

2 stories from my childhood revolve around this store, the most popular one was the time I thought Mom had left me at the store and driven home. TG&Y was a straight shot from our house so I just walked home. Turns out Mom was still at the store panicking that she couldn't find me. Dad on a hunch drove to the house and found me waiting outside wondering how on earth I'd beat Mom home when she had the car.

The other was the time she had to pick up something real quick and left us in the car as she went in. Under strict instructions we were NOT to leave the car. It was a hot day and the car started getting uncomfortable, Jeremy got out and walked around while I stayed in like an obedient child should do.

Mom came back and rewarded me with some hot dog shaped bubble gum (which I LOVED) and when we got home rewarded Jeremy with a spanking for getting out of the car.

See you tomorrow folks!

The Great Hunt (Book 2)

Back to business with Robert Jordan's 2nd book in the Wheel of time series.  New Spring was a nice break but it felt good to return to 700 page novels once again.

So far, I'm still loving this story. On to Book 3 next!

Bye bye Blockbuster

As Blockbuster shutters more of it's stores this year Monroe (for the first time since I know) is now without a Blockbuster rental store.

Amazing.

There are only a couple hundred left open and those will soon be closing after this year as well as it's owner. Dish Network plans to completely pull the plug on this failed franchise in 2014.

Incredible how this company went from being the nation's greatest video store to being unknown to the next generation, thanks to Redbox and Netflix.

Wild because Blockbuster could've crushed both of those companies back in the day if they'd only had the intelligence to lead them but now it's too little too late.

Blockbuster refused to believe in the popularity of streaming videos and lower prices. In the recent year our Blockbuster finally went down on their prices for video rentals....too bad they were 5 years late on that idea.

They've become the grand example of what terrible leadership can do to a #1 company.

So long Blockbuster, I won't miss you that much when you're gone and neither will anyone else.

Here we go again...

Thought 2012 was titled our "CON-quest" I'm not ready to announce the same for this year....however.

Megan really wants to go to this one to see more Walking Dead actors and how can I deny her that? (I've already gotten all the Star Wars autographs I'll need)

So for 2013 we're kicking it off at Ben Steven's poorly run cons the Sci-Fi Expo. I'm expecting about the same thing at all of this guys cons. Terrible line management, rude/ignorant volunteers and great dealers to make up for it.

Should be fun!

Never do.

Don't care who wins.

Won't know till someone tells me on Monday.

New Spring

So now I get to read Robert Jordan's 334 page short story before going back to the other books in the series. This one's the prequel to the books but I was told to read Book 1 before reading this one and I'm glad I did. I'm not as lost as I would be if I'd started this one first.

But like I said, compared to Jordan's other works this one will be a breeze. I hope to finish it soon and be starting on Book 2 soon.
