TI4

Played a 7 hour game today with the new expansion....wonderful. Loved every minutes of it. I think TI3 is finally going to be moth-balled going forward. 4th edition is where its AT!!!

Death to music

Another group of people heavily impacted by the pandemic this year are musicians. Not allowed to perform live, they've been scrambling to get work any way they can. I've talked to several of them and I feel bad for them.

Just another unsung casualty of COVID that no one mentions.

Running out of guests?

Watching the New Year's Eve concerts and they're now playing old recording of past performances....because they couldn't find anyone to perform live.

The entire family is laughing right now. Pathetic celebration.

No regrets

I left the Board for the Strauss Theatre earlier this month and haven't missed a moment of being involved with it. I love being with my girls and not having this place consume every spare hour of my free time. At this moment, I have no interest in ever returning. Don't know how long I'll feel that way but right now, I don't care if I ever go back. Best decision I ever made this year!

30 Day Diet TIme!

2021 coming....30 day diet goes in effect Jan 2nd. Would've been tomorrow but Megan's celebrating her birthday with family tomorrow and I said I'd hold off one day.

I'm ready for it!

What the frag?!?!

Just found out that Cinemark brought back this movie in select theaters but NOT ours!!! Super bummed! I would've LOVED to have seen this movie in theaters again!!!!

Favorite Christmas movie....hands down. Been watching it every year for the past 20 years!

Classic.

Movies for 2021

I'll do my annual podcast at the beginning of the year as I always do, for the Top 5 movies I'm excited about to hit theaters this year, but deep down inside I also don't care.

It's not just because of COVID but going to the movies becomes less interesting to me every year. It IS nice to see empty theaters and plenty of room right now, while watching films. AND I LOVE the Comeback Classics at our Cinemark. That's been fun.

New Year's Eve Party

I'm done holding them but I would've made an exception this year just to spit in the face of everyone telling you to shelter inside and not celebrate.

On the other hand, it has been nice celebrating with family.

Holidate (review)

Another movie we got referred on, played like an R Rated Hallmark movie. Not really about Christmas, but more about the holidays over the entire year.

Silly at parts, crass in others and 100% predictable in the end.

Another pass.

Noel (Review)

Watched this movie last week on a referral. I guessed how it would end in under 5 minutes of watching the film. It has some funny moment but Bill Hader is hardly in it and overall, it's not very good.

Pass on it next year if you're looking for a new Christmas film to watch.

The Terminal (Review)

Just watched this with the family tonight waiting for the new year to come. I didn't remember hardly any of it but it's really good and worth the re-watch if you haven't seen it for a while.

Highly recommended.

Interesting article about Sweden's Response to COVID

Worth the read.

Cloth Masks Are Useless Against COVID-19

Love it.

I don't know which one I'm getting but I AM buying one for sure : )

Look who's coming to Louisiana!!

What have we here?! News just hit that we're getting a distribution center in south Louisiana. Super exciting news! Also, it mean faster delivery for me!! Too bad it's not located up around here....not lying, I'd be tempted to jump ship!

Luke Letlow

Well this is awkward. A Congressman-elect passed away this week and it was reported he died of COVID-19.

Though now the New York Post is reporting he died of a heart attack while having COVID. Sooo..... the heart attack killed him, while he had COVID.....but it counts as a COVID related death.

Either way, I hate it. He looked to have a promising career. There's a runoff election in March for his replacement. No idea who's running for his spot but it's sad he never got a chance to serve our state.

Empty New York Streets

Was it just me or was watching the ball drop in New York the eeriest thing ever. No one there, but people pretending to have a good time, when it was obvious the streets were desolate.

Really creepy.

Happy New Year?

New strain of COVID facts

 More contagious, extremely less dangerous.

Viruses commonly mutate to survive. But when they do, they come back less effective.

You're welcome.

Move along.

It WILL get better

Spoke to someone the other day who told me life will always be like this from now on. That things weren't going to change and we were going to have to accept this is the new way of life.

It isn't. They're wrong. I will not accept a defeatist attitude. Life will get better. Eventually, Governors who are running their states into the economy will have to come forward with the fact that life will have to move on. Every politician will see it too. You'll start to see a "positive" message return once the economy has  reached its breaking point.

Until then, don't panic. Rejoice and know for certain that things will get back to normal. Sooner than later.

Happy New Year.

Good riddance 2020

Needless to say this has been a year where people put fear over the facts. The worse year I've ever had. I pray more common sense comes into the world for the new year.

Damn Argentina

Here's a group of savages celebrating the legalized order for murdering unborn children.

What a sick and perverted world we live in, when people celebrate such a thing as this.

Hypocrites Galore

I love how CNN is criticizing Trump for not rolling out the vaccine faster....when just this summer they were condemning him for rushing the vaccine by the end of the year.

Morons.

Ron for 2024?

Man oh man. The more I hear from this guy the more I like him. I'd love for him to be my Governor but I think he'd make a great president too! He cares about his state, the businesses and the people within it. Real stand up guy.

Makes me wish I was living in Florida right now to tell you the truth!

Atlanta on the rise!

After making efforts to defund the police, the crime in Atlanta has sky rocketed. Its so bad now that the mayor said she's "open for suggestions"

Ha ha ha ha ha! How about pulling your head out of your ass?! What a bunch of buffoons!

Happy Birthday to the Mrs!

Don't know what she wants to do today but it'll most likely consist of going out to eat for every meal and a movie at the end of the day. : )

Honest Thief (Review)

Finally got around to watching the newest move from Liam Neeson and it was pretty solid. Nothing outstanding but the I gotta hand it to the man, he always makes an entertaining movie. I've come to expect that from him over the years. Though not one of his best it's still worth your time to check out if you're interested.

It about the thief who steals for the thrill of it but after years of doing it he meets a girl, falls in love and wants to come clean. But two FBI agents decide to take his money and set him up for murder. Now he has to clear his name...with revenge. (Yeah, typical Neeson film, but it's great)

The Real Dr Fauci

Don't celebrate or look up to this man. He is selfish, he craves power and he is neither to be respected nor honored by anyone in our generation. He's a perpetual liar and hypocrite.

I hope after this crisis has evaded us, he becomes nothing but a Jeopardy answer that no one knows the question for.

Halloween is Grinch Night

How have I gone 43 years on this earth and never found out about this cartoon from 1977?!

I love the Grinch Who Stole Christmas and this appears to be its sequel? But it's a little confusing to the timeline.

The story is about the Who's who smell a sour sweet wind roll into their town. They all hide in their houses because it means the Grinch is coming down from his mountain.

As the Grinch and Max slowly ride down the mountain, the Grinch is running over flowers and scowling at everything he sees. A Who is giving a radio broadcast to everyone of what the Grinch is up to and a little boy is tired of hiding in his house so he goes outside and encounters the Grinch.

The Grinch tries to scare him but it doesn't work, so he goes away. The boy follows him and ask the Grinch to do his worst scare on him to see if it works. Cut to a montage Dr Suess nightmare that the boy blows off.

Afterwards, the wind dies and things start to calm down as the Grinch decides to leave back to his home.

The reason this doesn't sound like a sequel is because the Grinch is still sour and the Who's are afraid of him. The reason it doesn't work as a prequel is because Max decides to leave him in the end and live with the boy's family who is nicer to him.

It ends with the Who's celebrating the Grinch being gone and runs about 25 min.

Weird stuff. Glad I saw it but I would only recommend seeing it once, it's not good enough to become a holiday tradition.

Cali Fail

With the strictest rules on lockdowns and mask mandates, California still has rapid rising cases of COVID, proving once again, no one knows what they're doing to handle this virus.

Mardi Gras Cancelled

FINALLY something good comes out of the COVID crisis! (I really hope they don't change their mind on this)

Never liked Mardi Gras in the first place anyway.

No more Christmas list

Every year our family fills out cards with gift ideas for Christmas. And every year it's only my Mom that goes by mine. The gifts are $20 or lower so it's not about the money, I can only imagine its about going online to shop.

20 years ago I would've understood but today? My only guess if they wait too late to shop and whatever's online won't make it in time for Christmas. (which is why most of Megan's presents to me haven't made it in yet according to her)

I don't think I'll be filling any more out in the future. What's the point? Plus, there's nothing really I want anyway so it doesn't matter what people want to get me. I just don't understand why I even bother making a list no one reads.

No Christmas

I know there are people out there who don't celebrate Christmas. I feel bad for them. It's a wonderful time of the year that should be celebrated. The lessons it teaches are very important to our culture, yet I still know some people who don't celebrate it.

It's sad to hear people are missing out on bringing such joy into their live.

That's why I say (on this 2nd Day of Christmas) MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!

Tis the season

They tell you to lockdown. To keep away from friends and loved ones. To hide your face.

They tell you to do this or people "will die"

Don't listen to fear mongering.

Merry Christmas!

The night before Christmas

It's that special time of the year once again where people are invaded by a man who breaks into houses, eats their food, causes damage to their roofs and doesn't practice social distance with the reindeer.

It's also time to finish your Christmas shopping.....don't forget!

ULM's New Head Coach

Well, well well, what have we here? Remember ole Auburn's coach from the early 90's? The guy who replaced Pat Dye, went undefeated for 2 years straight (off Pat Dye's recruits) then couldn't win another game to save his life?

Looks like the Warhawks have decided to give him a chance next year. He can't do any worse then the 0-10 record they had this year.

Maybe I can get him to sign some of my Auburn stuff from the 90's?

Getting longer

I think my hair is the longest its ever been. My record was back in 2005 but looking at it now I think I've exceeded that length.

I'll continue to grow it out until they let me return to work in my office....which may not be until next summer.....it's going to be a long road.....

Christmas in Gadsden, AL

Every other year when we weren't in Mobile, we traveled up north in Alabama to my other grandmother's house. It was much colder there and more likely to snow at time.

She had the tree covered in tinsel and the largest stockings you've ever seen! It got cold at night but I remember my bed being right next to a vent. I'd put my hand over it to feel the heat coming out.

Another great memory from Christmas past!

Vitamin D the answer?

It looks like more experts are in agreement (and tests show) that vitamin D is proven to reduce the effects and shorten the length of COVID. (now watch there be a mass shortage next) This makes sense. My dad takes it and when he got it, it was only for a few days and he was better. And he's close to 70.

Once again, a common vitamin has another whole reason to be taken. But I've been taking it for over a year now so it's a daily thing for me.

Jeff Landry for Governor?

I have a theory that even though Mr Landry has lost every case against the Governor that it's not the point. I think he's planning on running for Governor in 4 years and wants to make a show of opposing the Governor at every step through the COVID crisis to show he's listening to the people of Louisiana and understands what they're going through.

While our Governor laughs and celebrates his wins against Landry, he won't be smiling in 4 years when he loses his office for good to him. The "middle" which has supported Edwards for so long is gone. Heck, I haven't voted for a Republican Governor in 12 years and even I would throw this guy a vote if he ran!

Edwards is living out the last 4 years in office whether he knows it or not.

Stimulus DOA

People are celebrating a stimulus package that has more pork attached to it, we're never going to pay it back. Awful, so much money going to waste. The lockdowns caused the problem and even with this bill, more will close by the droves.

I feel even more sorry for those in states run by dictators who are single-handedly destroying their economy.

No Vacancy

As hospital visits due to COVID rise across the country I have to ask myself why people think masks and lockdowns are working. So far they've shown the exact opposite.

I think Albert Einstein said it best when he defined insanity as "Doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result."

Christmas in Mobile, AL

I remember as a kid visiting my grandparents in Mobile and having a great time. We would arrive late at night, I'd try hard to stay awake but fell asleep every trip.

they had a giant life size teddy bear wearing a christmas hat that was the perfect thing to lay on while reading a book.

Good times!

Stand and Deliver by Eric Clapton - Music from The state51 Conspiracy

Hypocrites

Love how all these Democrats tell everyone to stay at home, social distance from loved ones and wear masks though the NEVER follow their own rules but continue to give "excuses" every time they get caught.

At least Republicans don't bother putting on a fake show for the public about it.

This should be extremely telling to everyone that they don't believe in their own lockdowns to follow though with them on their own.

Hypocrites.

Dear Mets; Bring Sexy Back

Last month Bartolo Colon made an official statement: He wants to play one more season (and retire) with the Mets.

I am 100% happy with the decision to bring him back on to the team and I don't think there's any Mets fan out there who'd disagree.

C'mon Cohn.....one more year. LET'S GO METS!!

By the way, I hear some folks in Minnesota would love to have him back too. Though I'd be bummed he wasn't a Met, I'd still cheer for him if he ended his career as a Twin.

A Smear Campaign 140 years in the running

They keep taking down the statues and the flags but they have no clue what they stood for. Such an incredible lack of ignorance in one's history is abhorrible.

Shame on them all.

Roasting on an open fire

Quite another thing I miss at our old house growing up was a fireplace during Christmas. We had a beautiful hearth at our old home in MS and a decent one in LA that we only used for a few years before dad gave up on it completely.

The rarely make real fireplaces anymore but if I had my wish, I'd have one in my home. Yeah, buying firewood and keeping it going would be a pain but at times like this (especially when it's cold at night) it'd be nice to have something roaring in the living room.

As kids, we used to roast marshmallows over it. SO much fun. Mine usually always burned but those were some great memories to have with my brothers.

COVID due to gunshot?

Another state's been busted for exaggerating their COVID numbers. This time it's Colorado who actually marked people who died of a gunshot wound as dying from "COVID"

Further proof that the numbers out there are being artificially inflated.

Mississippi's new flag

Never got a chance to talk about this but I'll just say I hate it. It looks plain and boring and nothing as memorable and bold as the old one. It's a shame how they were bullied into changing it. I feel sorry for the entire state from this atrocity.

T-Shirts I'd like to have (4)

This was only available for a brief time in 2016 when the Mets swept the Cubs in the playoffs and ruined everyone's dreams of the Back to the Future (Part 2) prediction from coming true. I loved it and now it's impossible to find.
Of course a little "Last Starfighter" in my life is more than welcome. Though I wish they had a "Death Blossom" shirt instead.
They've never made this shirt before but I'd love one of my favorite board game on it! Just the title like this would look gorgeous on a shirt!
Well duh. Anyone who knows me knows why I would want one of these. Plus I like the old Kenner label that goes along with it.

And finally, a shirt with my favorite soda on it would be awesome! They actually make them too! I WILL own one some day!

Have a good weekend folks!
