Though not terrible it's only a one-shot and there's not much that they do with it but tie it in to the ongoing series in a very lose way. The comics have never been that good and are basically middle-of-the-road.
To be honest, this fits in the same category as all the others before it. If it weren't for 2 excellent novels, I'd say Firefly's Expanded Universe was in bad shape but so far it's been ok.
