Grading the Alhambra Expansions (7)

Exchange Certificates

Everyone gets this expansion piece to their board and whenever they over pay you place a marker of the same color on your player board. Markers are limited so if there are none available for that color, you forfeit the action. During the game you can remove the marker to receive that amount to pay for tiles.

This expansion is a PASS

There are WAY better expansions that do the exact same thing. Making this expansion completely pointless. Plus the other way "Coins" is LEAGUES better than how this one works,

 Magical Buildings

When you buy them in the market they can be oriented any way onto your player area.

This expansion is a MUST

I can't stress how important these tiles are for their ability in the game. Sometimes you're looking for just the right tile but the walls are not in the spots you need them unless it's rotated. But these tiles let you do just that, making it easier to plan out your Alhambra. Every time one of these came out, it became top priority for everyone to nab it first.

Medina

This funky cold expansion offers penalty points for the player(s) with the least amount to lose points each round.

This expansion is a Meh

It's not bad. In fact, I liked it better than I thought I would. Though worth zero points in the game you still get them if only to have your opponents suffer a few points during the game. Nothing to dramatic but in a close game, could be the winning factor. I wouldn't play with this module all the time but every once in a while for that reason.

New Building Grounds

An interesting expansion that allows you to purchase blank tiles and then pay to place specific building colors for various prices in the secondary market. Shuffle the 4 Number Tiles and lay out 3 buildings under each amount showing their cost.

This expansion is a MUST

I love this idea. It's a quick way to retrieve buildings that could give you the lead during scoring and help win you the game. Everyone I played with loved the expansion as well, making it a sure "must" in my gameplays moving forward.
