Vitamin D and COVID 19

Timestamp to 2:07 and listen to Fauci back in July

(Remember what EVERY expert was saying back then) Coronavirus: Experts warn against using face masks

It's already started

The first cancellation of 2021 for Board Game Conventions is here. AZ will not be having there's in March.

That bodes ill for BGG Spring which is only 2 months later. At the moment, all is quiet, but I expect to hear something from them around Feb.

Here we go again....(sigh)

The Man who Invented Christmas (review)

Tried this movie for the first time this week and it was pretty good. A story of how Charles Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol. Not a holiday masterpiece but far, but one enjoyable enough to watch once if you've never seen it before. I recommend it.

Merry Christmas!

The mask

Cases of the flu have dropped 98% this year. Sick people wearing masks have avoided spreading the flu. However, COVID numbers remain the same. Could it be that it's not droplets (like the flu) but rather the virus is airborne, therefore rendering mask irrelevant?

By the way.... I need to get this mask.

Wish Book

Remember the day the Sears Wish Book came into your mail box? You'd wait patiently for the mail every day for it to arrive. Your Mom would yell at you if they found out you had it stored away in your room without telling anyone. (because they wanted to see it too)

You went through all the toy pages, circling things you'd like....which at times would be the entire page. Looking through the pages over and over, we even created a draft with my brothers of all the toys on one page and then move on to the next.

Man!! Great memories of this catalogue through the years growing up. Too bad they don't make anything like it anymore. It was a great thing to have around the Christmas season.

Have a good weekend folks!

Saved by the Bell (2020 Show)

Megan and I decided to give this new version of the show a try and....it's so bad it's almost good. This completely "woke" show is SOOO overly PC it's hilarious.

To give you the short story, white people are bad. White people are ignorant of minorities. White people are racist. White people are privileged and don't know what its like to struggle in America. White people don't need to give advice to people of color but rather stay out of the way for the more qualified smarter races to handle things.

And it got me laughing the whole time.

There's no Screech in it (which is no surprise) but also no Mr Belding, which I was kinda bummed to see because it would've been nice to see him again. Other than that, there's a few additional cameos from the original cast but other than that it's not made for my generation.

I'd say pass on it but again, it's so funny how racist it is against white people I have to recommend you watch it to get some laughs.

Bring on Season 2

New favorite place

They seat at 100%, don't wear masks or require them to be worn and they have a picture of our Governor in the toilet bowl.

Oh yeah...I'm coming back here...often.

New Animaniacs Cartoon Review!

When this was announced by Hulu a while back I was PUMPED! I loved this cartoon as a kid and had recently re-watched the episodes from years ago and it STILL holds up! So the possibility of a new season being the best ever was high.

What a disappointment. A HUGE let down. Not only are the jokes bland but they're now "woke" Warners, which means endless "Orange Man Bad" jokes and "Conservatives are looneys" jokes are in every sufferable episode in spades.

This show wasn't created for the fans. Just some liberals using an old classic to get their point of view across. So sad. This could've been their moment to shine. Instead, it's used as a soulless woke reboot to cram a tired out message into your head.

Avoid at all cost.

The Grinch (Musical Review)

Holy crow! We saw this last night and it was TERRIBLE! I was completely bored after the first 2 minutes and I LOVE the Grinch AND musicals!

It's told through the eyes of Max, the dog. The Grinch is not in it until after the first 20 minutes and it's underwhelming at that.

Cindy Lou Who is a supporting character as is her entire extended family. There's a scene where the Grinch's heart is already warmed to the point of crying when he meets Cindy Lou on Christmas Eve while trying to steal her tree.

He loves her so much he decides to leave all the stuff in her house and go rob the others. I'm like "HUH?" And though it rhymes (at times) it doesn't feel anywhere near the Dr Suess Style you'd expect it to be.

Yeah, I'm going to have to say give this one a "hard pass" if you see it on your streaming service. Go wath Jim Carrey's version instead and avoid this disappointment.

Gus Bus has left the station

Since the news broke, I've been getting peppered with questions on this one so I may as well address it. I like Gus. I do. Sure he was a one trick pony, but that pony had a lot of good tricks! He changed the rules for college football based off some of them and I thought he was pretty smart for that point.

But what got him was recruiting. How can you go so many years without ONE decent quarterback?! It feels impossible but we've had to deal with terrible QB's for years now and for once I'd like to see that change.

And no I don't want Hugh Freeze. A moron who couldn't get anywhere with Ole Miss is surely not going to benefit us in the least. Lane Kiffin is a huge idiot too so I don't want him either.

Then who, you ask? I have no idea. Auburn needs a recruiter AND a coach and that's something that you can't find out there on the open market at this time.

To be honest, I'm shocked this didn't come after the beat down Bama gave us this year. The ONLY way he could've kept his job was with a Bama win in my opinion. Nothing else at that point would've helped.

Goodbye Gus. It's been fun but it's time to go.

Bye bye Baseball?

Thinking about what I said with College football I think Baseball (my favorite sport) is starting to decline in interest to me as well.

2020 is the first year I didn't watch every game of the World Series in a long time and I didn't keep up with many games after the first 2 weeks of the season. Sure I hated all the new rules put into place this year but it sounds like all those rules will be coming back permanently for next season and if that's the case, baseball might be fading for me too.

I'd hate that, but we'll just have to wait and see what 2021 brings.

Bending the knee

Looks like Cleveland finally caved into the pressure and decided to change the name of an 105 year old team. If history tells us anything it's that they'll lose a huge amount of fans over this and I don't blame them. A change of name is always bad for the fans.

They're also the longest MLB team without a World Series Championship. I feel bed for Cleveland fans, that their team wouldn't stand up for them on this one.

I'd also like to invite those fans to join us in the Mets camp. We won't be changing our name anytime soon....Money's too good.

Change of mind?

Remember all those news sites that said we shouldn't trust the first vaccine that comes out? Funny how they've all disappeared now the Biden won the election. : )

Serenity (Re-watch review)

Of course after watching the series I had to re-watch the movie too. Really good too. Keeps loyal fans with continuity but doesn't lose new fans in the process.

Such a fantastic movie that I'm retracting my Top 5 movies of the year and making this my #1 movie of 2005 (over Revenge of the Sith)

Such a great film that makes you believe everyone dies in the end.

......boy I hope that wasn't a spoiler.

Bye bye college football

Going to be honest.... I didn't watch a single game this season. I was completely out of the sport. Sure COVID had a little something to do with it but also my interest in the football has been waning over the past few years.

All I did this year was watch the highlights of games so I could discuss with friends or family if brought up.

Pretty sure I'm down with football altogether now....but baseball's starting to take a hit as well. Especially after a horrendous season such as this year was.

McRib Count

So far, I'm only at 2. It's not as fun when they aren't running the "2nd for $1" special. I ate more McRibs that way.

But they are GOOD!!!

Vaccine

As long as it makes people come back down to their senses I couldn't care less whether it works or not.

Huzzah!!

Good news! The numbers are so low for the flu this season, there aren't enough cases to form a proper metric around it! In addition to that, heart disease and cancer are down too!!

No, it's not the fact that people are sheltering inside their homes and not going to get proper check ups from their doctors, it's that we're magically being cured of all other illnesses since COVID came around!

I wonder why the news outlets aren't reporting on this modern day miracle?!

Oh wait.....right....gotta stick to the fear mongering tactic and not the ugly side effects of what's really going on here. Got it.
