The picture you see above is a promotional poster for an upcoming film that is being shopped around to film festivals as we speak. The title hasn't been decided on yet but here's the cool part.....

It's a movie that's loosely based off events that happened years ago to a girl who becomes friends with a christian family of 5 boys and 1 girl then reflects on the way she's been living her life all along. Guess who that family is?

Hot dog! I knew it would be only a matter of time before Hollywood got a hold of us! The producer of the movie came by my house this week and showed me a rough cut of the movie that involves a family loosely based off of mine. There's even someone loosely based off of me as well!

So here I am sitting down, excited to see what I look like thru "Hollywood's eyes" and my friend takes a moment to tell me "Now remember, I did say "loosely" ok?" Hearing that got me wondering a little but we rolled that beautiful bean clip anyway and I saw what she meant.

First off, my character isn't in the movie that much and when he is, he's used as the comic relief. (who knew right?) He's a goofy moron who the rest of the family tolorates only because he's related. And I loved it!

To see a someone loosely based off of me in a movie (besides Jar-Jar Binks from Episode 1 of course) was really quite a sight to see!

I think we all dream of what it would be like to see us portrayed in a film. I'm just lucky enough to have been given a little taste of that and it was awesome to see! It made my week! I want to be in the sequel!!

Anyway folks, that's all. I'm done. C-ya next week.

Merry Christmas

Ok so I had a video I filmed last night and was going to show everyone online this morning. Unfortunately the room was too dark to see what we did so I'll just tell you.

Every year for X-mas my family's tree is decorated with multi-colored lights and all sorts of awful ornaments with soley carry family values. In other words, an ugly tree.

This year my sister-in-law with the help of my sister, decided to have a different tree to celebrate around. This tree looks like something that came straight out of a lobby from a bank. It's boring.

So last night at 2 a.m. Dad, Jordan my grandmother and I decided to decorate it like it used to be. The end result? Success.

Christmas isn't ruined, the plan went thru without a hitch and my sister cried when she woke up and saw it the next morning. (hee hee)

Have a Merry Christmas folks!

X-mas around the corner

With X-mas coming up soon I just wanted to thank everyone for the X-mas cards and e-cards I've recieved over the past week and a half. It's been fun checking the mail and seeing things other than junk mail and bills.
Makes me hate e-mail a little but because of the good ole days when you used to recieve letters from freinds. That used to add a little of the excitement back into getting mail everyday. But now I guess e-mail is just the same right? Who checks their e-mail everyday, hoping to get something other than "Improve your credit!" spam?
Ok folks. Have a Merry Christmas and tune in on Monday if you get bored. I'm not sure quite yet what I'll have up on here but hopefully it'll be something to make your day all the more enjoyable.
By the way, I'm out of pics. This'll be the last one I promise!

Christmas is ruined!

Well, I just got back from my trip and I lost my wallet.

Everything's gone, I've looked all over for it but I've now come to the conclusion that it's lost. I have no debit card to buy x-mas presents with and I can't write checks because I have no form of ID.

My computer isn't working. This is the third time I've had to restart everything just to get online.

So, as we enter the X-mas week things aren't looking so good. At least my car doesn't have any problems right? There's one good thing to think about.

Ladies and Gentlemen!

Have you ever seen those "motivational" posters before? You know the ones. They say something like "Unity" or "Teamwork" on them, with a picture of a bird or kittens and the always say some cheesy line to "pick up" your mood.

Well..... here ya go.

Have a good weekend folks!

X-mas shopping anyone?

So I really need to get some X-mas shopping done this weekend but somehow I doubt that's going to happen. I used to be horrible at it. Waiting till X-mas Eve until I "rush-shopped" all the stores searching for last minute gifts!

I think the hardest thing is just making the time to do it! I'm pretty sure of what to get most people this year but it's just taking the time to get it done is my problem. I always have something "more important" to do.

Like draw... and read Star Wars books.... and watch reruns of Star Trek. As you can see with my busy schedule I'm swamped!

The last 2 years weren't so bad though. I actually got a lot of it done in the first few weeks of December. Now to tie that record it gives me just one week to do it all and I just don't see that happening. I'm WAY too tired when I get off work that I really don't feel like going anywhere. Don't get me wrong, I love buying gifts for people but it's just the shopping around part of it that doesn't thrill me.

Plus (and I've got to know this) does anyone else go out and buy a little something for themselves while they X-mas shop? You know, kinda like a little reward for ones self for being so good over the holidays? Just wondering, cause I did it every year but the last one and that's because I basically had everything I needed at the time.

Anyway, whatever you're doing this weekend have a good time folks and I'll see you next week!

UNSTOPPABLE ADULTS WIN AGAIN!!

What a game! With the youth going down for their sixth straight time in a row it just goes to show you
that Santa wasn't the only one coming to down. IT WAS OUR GAME!!
Ok, that first part was cheesey but true.
In an amazing 20-0 finish the six time Santa Bowl champions (the adults) made Santa Bowl history by
becoming the first team to shut-out it's opponent. The game start off with a quick saftey that lead to a
touchdown on the first possession for the adults. By the half the score was a cool 8-0
But in the second half a flawless defense shut down the youth's strength, speed and will making it easy
for the adults to score 2 more touchdowns and finishing the game 20-0.
As you can see above it was quite a moment for me. Thanks go out to Emily for taking the shots and
everyone who played or showed up to cheer for the game. It was really a fun!

Notes on the side

This is the "tux pose" you see at all the rental stores around town. My question is, why are they always holding the inside of their jackets? I don't get it. Really.

Well this week's gone well for me. I got to be one of Santa's Elfs today at work over the phone. One of my employee's sister is a school teacher and decided to call her brother up this afternoon and tell the kids they were talking to Santa Clause over the phone. Well, he had a call coming in on his business line so he tells the kids "Hold on a minute kids! Santa's gotta go check on the reindeer for just a moment. Speak with one of my elves!"

Then he hands the phone to me. I have no clue what's going on until he gives me the 10 second explaination. Soon after I find myself speaking in a ridiculous voice asking all the kids what they wanted for x-mas. The kids went wild with request.... all at the same time.... yelling.

Ok, so the Santa Bowl is Saturday 2:30 at Forsythe park. Be there if you're 25 or older becuase then you can be on my team. Yeah. It's looking like it's going to be a big one this year since both sides look pretty even. I'm really excited to see what will happen and I'm pretty sure that's all I'll be talking about on Monday. We shall see.

SPECIAL NOTE: Jad if you're reading this, call or e-mail me. We need to speak.

Kicking off the X-mas season!

I guess it's time for everyone to go crazy nuts over the holidays that have finally arrived. And while a lot of you will be X-mas shopping or enjoying a long weekend off today, I'll be at work. (yaaah!!)

Here's a pic of me from the last wedding I was in a week ago. I really dug the tux all except for the lavender tie that the bride picked out so we would match the bridesmaid dresses. (ick, I know) But overall I thought it was pretty snazzy myself. What do you think?

Ok folks, well enjoy the weekend and be expecting our X-mas comics to start coming out next week. I think you'll enjoy them.

C-ya!

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

By now you all know this is my favorite holiday. I looked up what I said last year about it and I don't really have that much to add. So enjoy the day, eat turkey, visit with family and have a grand ole time.

Yes that's my actual "foot turkey" in the picture. After drawing the comic I figured why not.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Mr Hobbs

Hello Everyone. We interupt your regularly scheduled comic strip to bring you Mr Hobbs.
Mr Hobbs likes fishing, stamp collecting and long walks in the park with his dog Jeb and.... aw who am I kidding! All he really likes doing is eating, sleeping, pooping in his diaper and eating some more while leaving drool all over my shirt! (yet somehow my mom welcomes him back with open arms every time he comes over)

He is the spawn of my brother Bray and his beautiful wife Kajsa. (+5 bonus points for sucking up to the sis in law over a public blog!!)

Mr Hobbs will be the discussion in tomorrow's comic strip that I'm sure everyone will love.... and know it's true. Not to build too much up on it but that's about all I gotta say for the week. Yep.... that's it. Just the comic strip... and then the weekend.... tonight a fish fry...... this weekend a wedding..... my 19th to be in.... you know, just in case you people at home are keeping score .....sigh..... I'm off to work.

MR HOBBS!!!!

Thanks Charity

The reason there was no post today was thanks to my little sister who never e-mailed me the pictures I wanted to show you this week. I even went by the house while she was on the computer and reminded her about them. She just nodded her head and kept IM'ing her freinds.

The lesson of the day? Never depend on a sister below the age of 16.

No Comics yet

Hi folks! I know, I know, you were all expecting a comic strip today right? Well, I had to go back into work last night and help out a little which cut into my time to finish this weeks comic strip. So I'll have it all done by tomorrow, promise.

I hate cold weather. It's hard to wake up when it's cold. I do much better on warmer mornings than cold ones. This week hasn't been so bad but it got me wondering what's ahead for the next couple of months. And since winter never stays long here anyway it won't be so bad. But for those next few months.... brrrr!!

Santa Bowl Preview

I hope you're as excited as I am about this year's Santa Bowl!! Here's what the T-Shirts are going to look like this year and I can tell you we're going to have a great game as well! I can't wait. I'm training for it right now. Which means, running, jumping, sprinting, pumping iron, eating McRibs and doing whatever it takes to make it to the top!

Other than that my weekend went well. I was in Florida for a wedding and had to drive with my brother and his family the whole time. Let me tell you... the road's a whole lot longer to travel when you have a little one in the backseat screaming the whole way.... ugh.

OK folks we have another fun filled week ahead so let's go out there and make the best of it! Ready? Break!

Fall Fest 2006

Here's a grand ole pic of me at the Texarkana Fall Fest. I was the MC for the night and here you see me during a costume contest having fun with one of the kids..... who I knocked out in the first round.

I see pictures I've posted on my blog popping up everywhere now-a-days. A fake MySpace website in my honor (which I quickly deleted) a calendar (I don't know why "that" pic though) and on a few desktop computers. (but I hear the real reason I'm there is because I'm standing next to Jordan in the pic)

For any case, thanks for making me pay the price of not copywriting this material before I post it.

Have a great weekend folks!

Look at this!

So a good friend of mine from the great land of AZ drew this the day after reading last week's comic strip. I don't know folks, which version do you think is better? Ha ha, I think I've found my replacement... now only if I can get him to draw like me....

Now on to other news. Yes, you will be seeing a new comic strip out this week along with a picture at the end of the week. I'm so glad you all enjoyed last weeks video. I have gotten several request from everyone on what to "sing" next. "Barbie Girl" has been my favorite suggestion yet.

Alright! That's all for now! Move along, move along!

A little sumpin, sumpin!

So I was going thru some old videos I had on my camcorder and I noticed I wasn't the only one using it. (thanks roomie for all that bonus footage) Now I had some footage from my trip to Mexico, but a lot of it is... well "Too hot for TV" material. I don't remember being in boxers the whole trip there but it seems like we all felt free around the camera that week.

That's when I found it. Very few of you even remember when this took place but I was filming a video that was going to show you some skits I had made up or was re-filming for the camera. Well, I found that tape and have a pretty good one to show you today.

No drugs or alchohol was used during this skit. Jordan and I was just bored one night and this is what came out of it. This was shot over a year ago too. I hope it's worthy of your veiwing pleasure.

What a weekend!

I just got back from Texarkana's Fall Fest 06 and would like to thank everyone over there once again for showing us all a great time! I have one picture from it that I'll be posting as soon as it's e-mailed to me.

Other than that, I hope you had a good weekend. Either by seeing your baseball team pull off an upset in Game 1 of the World Series, to just having some kid at the grocery store wanting your number. I hope it all went well.

Got another great comic strip for you this week. I'm sure you'll enjoy. So until then...

Edge of Madness (6)

Sorry folks, I couldn't think of a way I wanted to end this and when the thought of my old charater "Count Floyd" popped into my head, I couldn't resist it. (at least you'll love it Emily) Anyway, I'm off to work... and it's cold. Ick.

Edge of Madness (4)

Was it just me or was everyone else bummed about the rain out for the Mets/Cardinals game last night? Hmph.... I guess it was just me then.

Monday, October 16, 2006

Same old, plain old

Good Monday Morning to you folks! I hope your weekends were as good as mine. I attended a wedding (of which I wasn't in) went to see The Grudge 2 (which gave me da heebidy-jeebies) then sat and watched Auburn beat Florida in football and the Mets beat the Cards hard last night. So this is shaping up to be a good week ahead!

Oh, and I'm watching all 7 seasons of Star Trek Voyager at the moment. No, I'm not really a trekkie but I've been told by several people that it's worth my time and since I never gave it a shot when it came out I've decided to give it one now. I'm on season 2 right now and... mmmm... so-so. Not bad.

I see last week's comic strip prompted a few of you to go to the Edge of Madness this weekend. I hope you all had fun. I'm sorry I couldn't join you. Maybe next time. Ok then, Hi-ho, hi-ho it's off to work I.... eh, you get it.

Friday, October 13, 2006

TIVO my dear Watson!

I love DVR's. You should too. I never have to watch the shows when they come on anymore. I can just tape them and watch them whenever I have the time. I've taped so many movies right now that I really don't have time to watch it all. I have shows that aired 2 weeks ago, that are still waiting to be watched. So what do I do in the meantime? Draw comic books. (and strips)

As you all know today is Friday the 13th. (ooh...spooky) And I have a big day planned ahead of me. First, it's off to work. (where I will have to fire a few employee's) Not fun, but we covered all that last week. Then it's back to the house to exercise and then watch a movie. "The Grudge" will be playing at the IMATT tomorrow right before I go off to see "The Grudge 2" in theaters. Then later I return to the Edge of Madness where one of the biggest scare-dy-cats (sp?) I've ever seen is going with me. How bad is he? Let's just say crickets make him jump.

Anyway, after all this mayhem it's off to someone's house to spend the night. Because after seeing the "Grudge" movies back to back like that, I'm sure not going to sleep in my apartment all alone...... eeeeiiiiiieee!!!

That girl and that little boy just freak me out!

Have a great weekend folks!

Oh and P.S.- Mets 1 Cards 0
GO METS!!

Edge of Madness (3)

It was SO dark in some of those hallways I had no idea where we were going. I have to admit, they had some good hiding spots too. I was fooled a couple of times as to where they might be. You'd see one up ahead and move away from him only to be snatched up by the one waiting for you on the other side of the room. Classic mis-direction! I loved it!

Wednesday, October 11, 2006

Edge of Madness (2)

This is actually a true story. Running into employee's outside of work is pretty common to me. Since we have almost 200 people working there (and tons who "used" to work there) it's not out of the ordinary when we bump into eachother. Seems like now-a-days I only run into employee's whenever I go out. Which makes me look popular or that I really have no life.... you decide.

Tuesday, October 10, 2006

Edge of Madness (1)

So last week one of my employee's, Dustin (also called "D-Money") Took me to the "Haunted Houses" park we have just outside of town. It was my first time ever to go and I had so much fun I thought I'd chronicle a few mis-adventures of what happened while I was there. Hope you enjoy!

Monday, October 09, 2006

How bout them Mets? My team's made it to the NLCS and face the Cardinals Wednesday. (I already know who the "Hitt-Clan" is rooting for) Let me add that not only did we sweep the Dodgers without our 2 best starting pitchers but we did it with some big hitters too! This next series should be a good one. Hopefully I'll be talking about their trip to the World Series next week! (fingers crossed)By the way, isn't it great how I've turned Mondays into "sports report" day? Like half of you even care right? Don't worry. I promise more comic strips starting again tomorrow. With excessive commentary on every one. Hope your weekend went well folks. Mine did!

Just a written post

This seems to be playing out to be everyone's favorite kind of post so I guess I'll just keep doing it like this every Friday until people get tired of it. (which should be any minute now....)

Work goes well. I'm on the hunt today for new employee's. I need to build up my team because as of right now I have the least amount of people out of all 6 teams! It's even going to get smaller when I fire a few more next Friday. (is that too cold-hearted to say?)

I can't help it though. The boss is mad I kept them this far. I just have to give people that one last chance to make it, you know? Anyway, if they can't cut it by next week (which sadly some are looking that way) I'll have to bring down the axe.

Having so much control over a job is never really something I thought I'd ever have. I mean, sure I'd get responsibilties but with my supervisor slowing stepping out of her position at work (she's pregnant and won't be back after the baby's born) that puts me directly over my team. I make the decisions, I make the rules, I get to run the team as I see fit.

Is there pressure? Oh yes. If I can't do my job successfully they'll put someone else in. If I do well? They'll promote me. Wild stuff man.

But what's truly odd about the whole thing is now I'M the boss. Stuff you'd usually partake in (i.e. practical jokes around the office) I have to frown on. I write them up if they come in late or do something else wrong. I even had to rat on a few fo them yesterday because I knew they were doing the wrong thing. Not fun folks.

You can be friends with these people, you just can't be their "friend". Like I can't hang out with them as much as I would if I was just a regular guy on the sales floor. Because then they want favors. Like leaving work early, or being able to skip a day so they can sleep in etc, ect... I've had that happen before and each time I've said "no" Then they play the whole "thought we were friends" card and try to convince me to change my mind. But it never works and they once again see me as just "the boss".

But I wonder what they say when I'm not around. "He doesn't understand how hard this is!" "What makes him so important!" You know, the kind of stuff we all say about our boss. (well sometimes)

Ok this post went way too long. Didn't even mean for it to go down this route but oh well. That's why blog's were originally made right? People post online diaries for strangers to read and hope they get interested with their modern day life.

That's why I like sticking to comic strips!

Have a good weekend folks!
