Congrats to Florida!

The first state to be completely back up and running since COVID hit!

They've been the center of criticism with their loose rules in the past when dealing with the virus but as their numbers continued to fall, the media quickly ignored them and moved on. Now they're back open 100%!

They're now my 2nd favorite state. I hope Louisiana follows shortly in a few weeks when they're set to make the next announcement. Our numbers are rapidly declining in cases but then again, we have (D) for a Governor, which means it still may not happen no matter how better we are.

I'm so happy to finally see a light at the end of this dark year.

Radical Skadattle Review

My wife was able to find a can for me to try out last week! I was so excited to finally taste the new flavor...and so disappointed after I did.

Not only does this look similar to Rainbow Unicorn, but it taste similar too. Basically it's grape skittles where Rainbow Unicorn is Skittles.

With all the different flavors out there you'd think they'd be a little more creative than this. Oh well. Maybe the next one will be better.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Looky looky!

Sams Club has BANG!! Pretty cheap too! I think it's $1.37 a can! Can't beat that! I pick up a pack last week though I haven't drank any of them yet. I usually only drink them when we have rough nights with the girls being up all night and on Sundays.

But I am glad to see one of my favorite products on wholesale at Sams!

Candles

Another thing I can't explain my obsession for is scented candles.

I love them but don't burn them enough to justify buying more. Yet when we go out, I always stop by that area to see what scents they have.

I'm trying to do better burning candles this year. Especially when our lights went out a few weeks ago after the storm. Ever since then I've been burning through as many candles as I can so next time... I can get more. I won't buy any until I'm done with the 2 I have left.

These candles take forever to burn but I can keep patience on buying more....for now.

Muppets Now (Review)

Just noticed this last week on Disney+ and decided to check it out. It's pretty funny, almost a call back to the old days. It's a bunch of mini-shows put together with charming Muppet humor you've grown to love.

Silly jokes that I enjoyed and a lot of moments that make this worth your time. 6 episode are now available on Disney+. I highly suggest checking them out.

Bottom of the 9th (Review)

The final baseball movie I got to watch was this one about a guy with a promising career who accidentally killed someone and ended up serving most of his life in jail.

Interesting premise but the movie falls flat halfway thru and loses its direction towards the end. Shame, because it showed so much promise.

No other baseball movies out there (at least that I could find) that I haven't seen, so now it's time to move on to something else!

Everybody Wants Some (Review)

I saw this under a list of "Great Movies You've Never Seen" and it was the only one out the bunch I'd never seen so I decided to give it a shot.

It's a baseball movie too (or so I was told) so I wanted to see it for that reason alone. But is it a baseball movie? I'm not sure.

The story follows a team of college kids 2 days before school starts and all the shenanigans they get into prior to then. That's it. That's the whole movie.

It's shows them in one scene at practice on the field. Other than that, it's one party to the next with multiple goof off scenes in-between.....and I liked it.

I can't say why, but it held my attention. The characters are well developed and it was entertaining. I don't know why or what its supposed to be about but overall, it's worth your time believe it or not.

Have a good weekend folks!

Sandlot: Heading Home (Review)

The first movie was incredible, the 2nd one not so much. So WHY would I watch a 3rd movie from 2007?! Because I'm a sucker for baseball movies that's why!

This movie is HORRIBLE. Terrible script, acting and overall story. It's a stinker.

It takes place in 2007 as our "hero" takes a hit to the head with a baseball and wakes up in the year 1976. Where he's a kid again reliving his youth. BUT he's living it again as an adult on the inside. The "fish out of water" story comes in to play here as he talks about the future leaving everyone else confused.

If you think that's bad, just wait. It gets worse.

It tries to connect to the first film by bringing in characters (not the original actors) from the original movie. THEN in the end he changes the way his life turned out, gets hit in the head again (with a baseball) and is once again back in the present.

But this time everything's changed! His life is now BETTER even though he indicated there was nothing wrong with it in the first place. He was just a self centered jerk with no friends. Now everyone loves him and he's nice to them all now???? WHAT?????

Horrible movie but I had to watch it so you wouldn't have to.

You're welcome!

Another Vintage Game wish list

Just thought of a few more!

In a way it's roll and move but the cards are in "trucker talk" you spin the CB Wheel and Smokey is not only in a car but in the air with a helicopter. It looks fun.

A pick up and deliver with a storm piece that will pass over the boats. The cool thing is there are magnets on the boats and within the storm, so you may or may not lose your boat in the storm as it turns around if it matches up with a hidden magnet on the Storm piece. Super cool mechanism for a game. I think I'd like it.

Like Mouse Trap but with more traps? It looks like the board forces you into those trap spaces too at times on the board so you get more bang for your game. I like the idea and the board looks amazing when set up!

Roll the die, move up the ladder to the castle but watch out! There's a black knight moving around at the top who will push your ladder off if he lands on your square forcing you to start all over again. Love the look of this game, though it never came out in the US and would be extremely hard to find I think. Still, it'd be nice to have.

Can't believe I forgot about this one the first time through the list, but it's definitely on it! The gameplay looks incredible and the pieces are beautiful. The game's too expensive online but I'd still love to have a copy of it one day.

Sequels I wish were never made

Sometimes you just wish these movies never existed. Here's my Top 5!

I think this would be on everyone's list. You loved it when Tim Burton controlled the movies but soon after Batman Forever you got the feeling that things were getting off track. This movie was off the rails bad. They should've ended it after the 3rd movie.

A sequel so bad that even I want get it to complete my collection. I never want to see this garbage movie again. An insult to the films that came before it and the TV series that moves afterwards. So far, this is the only movie yet to be referenced in the TV show. I hope they never do.

The most embarrassing sequel in the series. This "prequel" is low budget unfunny garbage. Another one I wish never existed in a series of sequels that pretty much hold up well.

Forget the even worse sequel that followed but this movie was an outright disaster. Honestly, stop the whole series on Salvation and I'm a happy guy with the franchise. Now? I could care less about it. And thanks to the most recent movie, so does everyone else.

It's a shame this movie is included in what was a fantastic franchise! Honestly, this movie feels NOTHING like the others. It's boring, pacing is off and Bruce Willis is not even trying. I'm sure they had to use cgi to erase the check he was holding in his hands during takes for the amount of money he got paid to make this garbage.

Bill and Ted Face the Music (Review)

So they finally made it?

Never thought this movie would ever come out and on top of that, I never really wanted it to. But here it is, so let me give you my thoughts.

I only saw these films 3 years ago and was so-so on them. The 2nd movie is better in my opinion but I'm one of the few who think that.

Then again, now that Red Letter Media has backed my opinion on the 2nd film I'm sure they'll be more people changing their minds about it.

This one is more of the same and it's disappointing. I love Reeves but he's completely forgotten who to act in a comedy. The movie DOES have funny parts that weren't in the trailer, which was a relief but in a day where the writers can choose to be way more creative it appears they just wanted to goof around and do more of the same.

It's not a bad movie if you love Bill and Ted. And it's not a money grab either. It's just a movie that didn't live up to its potential.

Boo!

What a dud season this has turned out to be for baseball. I hate the extra inning rules, the DH for national league and the short season that is ruling out teams from the playoffs after only one month.

It's the first time in a long time that I've been this uninterested in baseball. Sadly, it seems a lot of these new rules are here to stay and that will only make the game worse in my opinion.

This is the one sport I still enjoy, if I lose interest in this I could be done with sports altogether.

Sad.

BUT, have a good weekend folks!

3 Book series I wish would be continued

Huge fan of the comic book series and even though the story is done I wish there were more tales coming out of this world. Jeff Smith is smart not making too much content after I think because nothing can compare to the epic tale of the original story plot....yet still....I'd love to see more of this world!

Sure I'd like to see more of these! As would a lot of people. JK Rowling never will though which is sad. I would've loved to have seen a prequel series based on James Potter and others attending the academy.

Guess we'll never see it happen though.

This is no surprise to anyone who knows me but of course I'd like to have these tales based off the old Star Wars Canon continued as well. We already got a one shot comic based in this canon, maybe someday we'll get to see more!

College Days

You know how some people look back fondly on their college days?

I don't.

Sure I had good times and good friends in college but if I were to wake up one day with the chance to do it all over again I'd die. You see I remember all the tests, the papers and headaches that came with school. So when I see kids going back to school I don't envy them at all.

I'm happy that part of my life is behind me.

Radical Skadattle

There's a new flavor of Bang that's been out for months but is not in my area. Drives me nuts because I really want to try it. From what I hear it tastes like Bubble Gum so I'm interested.

But so far everywhere I look NO ONE has it.

I mean, COME ON! Can't I have a little bit of happiness during the pandemic?! : )

You do too!!

Cologne Approved

Years ago when I was fresh out of college, someone got me a bottle of this and I loved it. About a decade went by before I discovered it again and ever since then, cologne from the Banana Republic store is the only kind I get.

Though I don't use it that much and haven't had any for well over a year, I just got more last month. If you've never tried it, go to a store near you to see what I smell like when I'm at my best......or maybe go to do something more worthwhile in your life.

Have a good weekend folks!

Necklaces

I finding out I'm really into necklaces. None of the above are mine but I do find myself buying one here and there whenever I'm looking around online and in stores.

Like the other day I caught myself looking at a table of cross necklaces that I ALREADY had but in different colors and thinking "Should I get another one?" before realizing one was enough.

But looking on my dresser I have quite a few and never realized I'd collected so many. Beside my cross one I don't wear the others as much yet still, it was interesting to realize that this may be a thing I collect unconsciously.

USPS is worthless

We gave another 25 billion to bail out this failing business. Whose service sucks. They lose more packages than any other delivery service and (in some cases I've discovered) have higher prices.

I now ship and request things be delivered to me through FedEx, a much more reliable source.

What a joke the USPS are. We should just cut them off completely and let their pathetic horrible business die.

Top 5 Vintage Games I want in my collection!

Time to do an updated one of these since I got most of the ones from my previous list and there's others I'd rather have now instead. Ok, here goes!

5) This Waddington game has always been in my Top 10 but moves up because of a renewed interest in looking at getting this real time game where you have a limited amount of time to get customers served on a turn. No reviews out there for it which is why it's only at #5 on the list.

4) The easiest and cheapest game to get on my list because it had a reprint not too long ago. I'll probably acquire it in a trade later this year but the game lives up to it's name by the look of it. Seems like it'd be fun to play.

3) Now on to one of the hardest games to find online at the moment. I swear I saw this game a million times for sale on Ebay in the past but now can't find a single copy available today! I'll pop up again I know and when it does I'll probably take the plunge and purchase a copy for myself.

2) One of the worst covers I've ever seen for a board game but the game looks like it'd be an absolute blast so I'm going to pick up a copy very soon for my collection.

1) This supermarket game is WAY overpriced online but I'm working on making a trade for it online soon. Love the theme and can't wait to be the FIRST person to review it online when I eventually get a copy.

Let's see how many of these I can get by the end of the year....
