Power of Dixie Land!

Ok boys and girls, time to put your hands together and start clapping for Auburn as they play their bowl game against Clemson today. I’m looking forward to a big win but I’ll just have to wait and see.

Well the year has come to close for us all. I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have. I’m sure you all have those New Years parties to attend so be safe and have fun!

Side note: I’ll be singing karaoke tonight at my cousins party if anyone is interested in coming….

Why not?

Why not have another weekend post to celebrate the holidays! I'm feeling peppy! So 2007 is about to leave us and 2008 in taking it's place. As I look back and reflect at what an incredible year it was I can only imagine what it will be for 2008!

Let's see what all has happened to me this year:

I got a promotion at work.
I wrote my 500th comic book.
I made a trip up to Idaho, to shock my friends and see my niece.
My brother Jordan looks like a girl with wolfman side burns.
I went to Florida for the first time in years.
I won another Santa Bowl.
I went on stage for the first time in my life.
I made new friends who I'm so thankful for.
I've visted old friends I haven't seen in years.
I still look as good as ever! WAH-HOO!!

Ok, maybe not the last one but overall I think it's been a spectacular year! What about you?

Merry X-mas!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! I know I sure did. Guess what I got? A digital camera! You know what that means right? More pictures on the blog! (hooray)
Ok this is a short post because that's all I had to say. Remember, the 12 days of X-mas actually start now so if you want you can celebrate the holiday a little longer if you want.

Holly Jolly X-mas!

This picture is dated wrong. I don't know why Charity's camera posted that date but if it were true then Jaiken would not have been born back then. Anyway, this was taken a few months back after me and the boys had been running around the house all day.
I've got all my x-mas shopping out of the way I'm happy to say. Now all I have to do is go to work till 5 then enjoy my x-mas holiday. I will be posting tomorrow just to let ya'll know. Maybe delay the strip a day but it's going to be a good one. I actually drew it out this summer but just finished it. It's a good one. One that some of you already have known about and have been asking me for months when I was bringing it out.
Ok folks, so until tomorrow!

College football season is back in the air and I hope you made your pics because I have! After dominating my “college pick’em” league on ESPN.com I’m confident I can do it again for the bowl games.

Ok, that part holds no interest for 90% of you out there so moving on.

“Oscar and Felix” Is going very well. I think it’s the funniest cast I’ve ever been around. I’m also happy to announce that I got on Halo 3 and played a little last night. First time in over 2 months!

Ok folks, that’s really all I have for now. Have a great weekend and a Merry Christmas. (though I’ll get to that more next week)

WW ME

So guess what happened to me this weekend? I didn’t get to go on my trip like I had planned so I went to a wrestling show with a few friends over the weekend and got to meet the famous professional wrestler Jay Lethal. Who during the match jumped out of the ring grabbed the mic and walked over straight to me and said “What is your name?”

“Matt” I replied.

“Matt, I have never heard half the things you’ve said today EVER in a ring. Would you please repeat that last comment you made.”

“Umm…. The one where I said you were as smooth as butter on a bald monkey?”

He shook his head laughing, jumped back into the ring and won the match.
When taking this autographed picture with me I was bummed to see they took the picture when I was looking down to see him giving me the thumbs up. Drats. Oh well. Fun times all around.

SANTA BOWL 2007

I forgot to mention about the 7th annual Santa Bowl that took place this past weekend!

So who won? Well I was getting calls all day with everyone wanting to know the results.

So without further delay the final score was 28-13. Another adult victory!

But it wasn’t that easy, as we were down at the half 7-13. But as always we grouped back together for another “W” in our column!

Tomorrow I start the next comic strip a little late. It should have been brought out much earlier but I didn’t want to disrupt the “Interviews” strip. I know you’re going to love this one… if you get the joke that is.

1000TH POST!!!!

After all the planning and hours it took to film this stuff I had to celebrate our 1000th post.... and my video camera is broken.

Oh well. Now all the planning lead down to something lame like this.

My 1000th post. Thanks everyone for making this possible. I hope to make many more thanks to you.

Cheers!

What a busy week! I hope everyone's week went by as fast as mine. I can't believe the weekend is almost here again! Where does the time go?

Booked for the Holidays

Ok. Here it is. I’m busy every night till new years day. Incredible. But with helping out as a stagehand for Plaid Tidings and acting in Oscar and Felix (the Odd Couple) I have filled my schedule out every night… at the theater.

So folks, I’m going to be a little busy and I want you to know that calls and e-mails will be sparse for the rest of the month. I’ve got plenty of comic strips to last till the end of the year so I’ll keep posting on the blog.

Some of you would like to know that the Footloose DVD is almost ready to go! This two disc set will feature a hilarious “behind the scenes” feature as well as commentary from yours truly. I’m actually going to be recording it LATE Friday night. (or early Saturday morning depending on how you look at it) But it’s sure to be fun either way!

Ok, I’m moving on folks! Have a great week and I’ll c-ya later!

Family Circle returns!

I can't believe how good an idea this was folks. I looked online for these comics and re-worked quite a few of them last night. I think I may be giving these out on Monday's and Friday's for the next couple of weeks for you to enjoy. I've got some really good ones here.

A few notes, this week was the end of the "polls". We may start them up again later on but for now they're done. I hope you had a lot of fun with them. I did.

Also I'd like to announce I've been cast into another play this week. "The Odd Couple" will star 2 radio DJ's from the local counrty station 104 here in town... and me. I was going to turn down the roll but when Chip (one of the DJ's) got a hold of me outside the door, he got me to change my mind.

I think they play will do good. I have the small role of playing one of his poker buddies. The show premeires in January.

Ok folks that's all for now. Have a great weekend and I'll see you next week!

You voted for Charity?!

I have to be honest. At first I was scared when I saw that my little sister was dominating the polls, but now that this video is finished….. it’s the best one I’ve made yet! I’m sure you’re going to enjoy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kg2sPzq3N0M

So for next week you’ll be voting on what “written” post I’ll be making on Friday. I was asked why I don’t post my personal life on the blog much. It’s because I think it’s boring and not really something people would be interested in. Plus when I made this blog it wasn’t so that I could write down all my thoughts for the world to see. But I’m letting you decide what will be the topic next week.

You’re 3 choices are as follows:
- I can rag on my siblings for all your amusement.
- I can joke about the X-mas season and what it means for me.
- Or you can have a plain old update on how my life is in general.

I know this won’t be the most popular poll we’ve had but I can promise better stuff for you in the weeks to come.

I hope all of you have a Happy Thanksgiving Day. Mine went very well. For those X-mas shopping this weekend, take care and don’t get run over.

Cheers!

Your Picture

Well, well, well. It was kinda close there for a second but I see it was a strong finish at the end.

Here you go! What do you think? Not a bad looking young man if I do indeed say so myself. Yes, that is me. Blonde curls and all. Kinda hard to believe isn’t it?

Ok well that was so much fun let’s do it again shall we? Next week we’re coming out with a poll that involves video!!

Seeing that Jordan and I have that “sing-a-long” that’s real popular I thought we could make another one of those. But who would be in it? Jordan was in the last one so he’s out. Bray doesn’t live around here any more so he’s out too. Here’s who you have left.

Jeremy. Easily the most boring Wilkins boy of them all. I have no idea how I would get him on video singing with me but I sure would give it a shot if you picked him for next weeks video.

Caleb. Probably your best choice seeing he’s very animated and would put on a great show for everyone if voted in to be my partner for the next music video.

Charity. I’m only including her so you’ll have an extra choice. I highly doubt anyone wants to see my little sister on YouTube. You can laugh at this option and pick one of the above instead.

Ok. That’s all for now. Have a great weekend folks and we’ll talk to you again real soon!

I'm outta here!

Check it out folks! My first eviction notice! I couldn't believe my eyes when I came in from work today! Isn't it cute!

I guess someone forgot to pay rent and now has 5 days to either pay up and ship out! Hmmm... whatever will I do?

Just a side note for you but the FFF is now officially over.

Yes, for 10 strong months we kept it going but it is no more as of today! It went way longer than I had imagined anyway. But I have an even BETTER idea in mind....

I'm going to let you, the fans, vote on what you want to see every Friday. I'll post a poll on the blog every Monday and you vote for whatever you want to see at the end of the week.

For instance. Monday there will be a poll out on what picture of me you would like to see:

1) A toddler picture
2) Pic of me with long hair (never before seen taken WAY back in the day)
3) Or a new picture of me now

Everyone can vote once a day for the entire week. At midnight on the last day I will post the winning vote. We'll do it for other things throughout the month so I know you're going to enjoy it.

Until then, take care. Have fun this weekend and get to clicking come Monday. Sure will be interesting to see what happens then.

This weekend I was crowned "Dance Champ" at our All Saints Day celebration! I even was given a trophy which sits on my bookself as we speak.

What an acheievment wouldn't you say? We have a really great week ahead of us folks. Hope everyone weekend went well. The new comic strip starts tomorrow. I promise!

November to Remember

Well, it’s November once again and I thought I’d list off a few things that make this quite a month to remember. You know what happened during this month in History? Let’s review:

The Pilgrims first landed at what was to become Provincetown, on Cape Cod, on November 21, 1620. U. S. Marine Corps was established, November 10, 1775 Oklahoma became the 46th US State, admitted into the Union on November 16, 1907
Mickey Mouse debuted in "Steamboat Willie" at the Colony Theater in New York on Nov. 18, 1928 "The Price Is Right" premiered in Nov. 1956 "Sesame Street" premiered in Nov. 1969 "HBO" premiered in Nov. 1972 "Good Morning America" premiered on November 3, 1975 Microsoft released Windows in Nov. 1993
What a month eh folks? Have a happy All Souls Day!

I changed my mind

On second thought, I think I'll just take this week off comic strips instead.... and make fun of my little brother.

Here's a picture of the two cutest Wilkins girls you will ever meet! Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Madeline and Jordana!

Aren't they so cute? (hee hee hee hee...) Seriously, the first time I saw this I thought "Who is that chick holding Madeline?"

This is too good. I don't I've laughed this hard since Jeremy told me he enjoyed manual labor!

On a side note, I hope everyone had a good time last night and Happy All Saints Day to you all!

Wednesday, October 31, 2007

First off I’d like to thank the hundreds of messages I received from everyone this week. I thank you for your prayers and wanted to let everyone know that we are all doing well. If anything, pray for my grandmother. She rejoiced more than anyone else there and I was very inspired by her to say the least. She means the world to me and I love her dearly!

Now, time to move on.

A few things before I start posting strips again tomorrow. (yes that means a Saturday post)

First off. I just want everyone to know that I did not watch ONE game of the playoffs or the World Series this year. Therefore keeping my word once the Mets were out that I would not watch another baseball game for the rest of the year. When was the last time I never saw a playoff or World Series game? 1994… during the strike.

Also, I’d like to thank everyone in Texarkana for letting me once again host their annual costume contest at this years Fall Fest. Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of it as I did last time but I assure you it was quite fun.

By the way, the comic strips for the next few weeks will focus on actual things that have happened to me while giving interviews for the company. I had several of you “rotfl” (as they say) in my e-mails explaining some of these characters to you already. A lot of you have been asking for this strip for about 2 months now so I’m finally going to give it to you. I’m know you’ll enjoy it.

Finally, I’d like everyone to take a moment to celebrate today… Cardco Day. Yes sir-ree! It was on this very day back in 1993 that Cardco (my favorite comic book shop) shut it’s door for the very last time. Thus inspiring my comic book series to start.

How tragic was this loss?! Well, Baseball went on strike. That good enough for ya? If anyone would like to join me tonight I’ll be holding a candle light vigil to my comix namesake. Everyone is welcome. : )

After that, it’s All Saints Day, followed by All Souls Day, so party on this Nov. 1st and 2nd!

Monday, October 29, 2007

Hey folks.

Sorry for the delay but as a lot of you have already heard my grandfather passed away last night and went to be with our Lord and Saviour. I'll be attending the funeral tomorrow. There will be no post tomorrow.

Thank you.

FFF Final Finish

Ever hear of the horse called “Man o’ War”?

He was the most dominant race horse in history. Back in the early 1900’s he won an incredible 20 out of 21 races. He set 3 world records, 2 American records and 3 track records. But you know what the name of horse was that beat him?

Upset.

Back in the day it just meant “to be sad”. But when Upset won that day it started meaning something else….

Pulling an “upset”

Which would be referring to the horse, but soon became commonly known to mean whenever an underdog beat a massive fan favorite.

And that’s this week’s FFF!

No jingle this season

Howdy folks!

How’d the week go for everyone hmmm? Well, let me set the rumors to rest and inform you that I AM NOT going to be in the X-mas play at the theater this year. Yes, yes, I did audition, but only because I was asked to!

However, due to the fact that I cannot read music they will not be picking me up for the part. (that saved me 6 e-mail replies right there)

So, everyone get ready for a new week cause here it comes!!

FFF of the the week

Here’s a good one for ya folks!

Thinking that it spread disease, King Henry VI banned kissing in England in 1439

Ack?! Can you imagine that? A rule against smoochin?! Maybe he just bought into the belief that cooties was a deadly diesease?

Another busy week almost over folks. Anyone have big plans this weekend? Any of them involve he words “War Eagle” in them?

Ok, I’m out!

Celtic Fest 3

Ok. So the reason I'm wearing a Superman t-shirt in the videos is to signify the "World's Finest" in comic books. (notice CJ in the Batman T?!)

For those of you who do not read comic books, that's what Batman and Superman were called when they ues to team up together.

But I do hate Superman.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qo23mt45IsA

By the way... that's the same shirt I wore for the "superman in classroom" video you know?

Guess what folks? I have more video footage coming out to you this week! See the World's Finest (CJ and I) were out on the town once again last week visiting the annual Celtic Fest here in Monroe.

Though not as good as our Harry Potter Nomincon, I've been recieving multiple request to show what footage we have. So I'll be doing just that through out the week!

Have another great week everyone!

FFF for October

I can't believe we're already moving thru the month of October! Where does the time fly?! Well, I did a little study about the specials things and events that took place in October so here's what I came up with!

Oct 17, 1775 The US Navy was established
Henry Ford introduced the first Model T in Oct 1903
Dick Tracy's first comic strip was printed in 1931
Orson Wells scared them all in his first broadcast on "War of the Worlds" way back in 1938
Also in 1947 President Harry S Truman gave the first televised White House address in history
The Twilight Zone premiered in 1959 and the Mickey Mouse club started on Oct of 1955 and Saturday Night Live in 1975!

Have fun this weekend folks. I know I sure am!

The jig is up

Ok, I'll spill the secret. I have a web site.

The only reason I've kept it secret for so long is because I wanted to work on it before launching it off to everyone else. Sadly it looks as though I'll never have the time to do that. So I've posted my 3 Footloose videos on it for the meantime if you'd all like to see them. Keep in mind I had a cold that night and so it really wasn't my best performance. I wish someone had filmed the 2 shows before it because I felt like those two were the best. Anyway....

www.cardco.info

The site looks like someone's high school project and will not be updated anytime soon. But at least you get to see the videos now right?

500

Well, I was going to post the cover up but I didn't have time to get it ready so I'll just tell you about the news.

I've just completed my 500th comic book! I can't believe I've made so many of these things, it's really amazing how long it's been going on.

I even thought of a good way to celebrate this occasion but you'll have to give me a few more days before I unveil it. And even then it won't be ready but who cares, it's going to be cool!!

Well, I'm sorry this has been a dud week for the blog. I really think this is the most boring this blog has ever been. I promise I won't let something like this happen again! No more videos for this blog, that's for sure!

Hanging up on Footloose

Well folks, I looked at every way around it and there’s no way these videos are going to make it to the internet I’m afraid. Sorry.

But when I started thinking about it, no one’s really posted much about our play anyway, so it’s kind of fitting on how this all worked out.

I still hate you E Blogger, if you’re reading.

But this whole time’s helped me reflect on what an awesome show it was. I went out this weekend and got asked several times while waiting in line at the “haunted house” in town “Hey! You’re Willard!” Kinda flattering to have celebrity stardom. (even if it’s just around your local pond!)

Big news tomorrow, plus another FFF. I have next weeks comic strip ready and it’s going to be a good one. So stay tuned!

Bad News

YouYube is telling me the 5 minute clips are too much to post even though I've seen some video posts lasting over 7 minutes but I guess that's not the point.

So unfortunantly there will not be any Footloose posts on this site.

I'll try to come up with some other fun ideas to last us through the week before posting comic strips again.

Monday, October 01, 2007

Thank you Mets

Thank you Mets.

Thanks for putting an early end to my baseball season.

Thank you for not being able to beat the Phillies ONCE this season.

Thank you for getting swept by the Nationals…. twice.

Thank you Tommy Glavine, for giving up 5 runs to the fish during the 1st inning in our most important game of the season.

Thank you Mets, for losing 11 out of your last 15 games.

Thank you for being the first team in history EVER to have such a huge lead at the end of the season and blow it at the end.

Thank you.

(Footloose videos start tomorrow)

FFF

Time once again for Fun Fact Friday!

Today's is about an exciting subject.... tablecloths!

Did you know tablecloths were originally meant to serve as towels in which guests could wipe their hands and faces after dinner? Hmmm.... try that now and see what people will think!

Well, a few of you have asked and yes I did indeed go up to the stores at mid-night this week and purchase my copy of Halo 3. But before you start blowing your nerd whistles at me, get this... I haven't even opened it yet.

Wild eh? I'm even too busy to play video games. What is the world coming to!? But I plan on taking a crack at it this weekend.

Hope you enjoyed "The Pac" as much as I did. The next comic strip idea I have is going to be a good one too. But first.... FOOTLOOSE videos!!!!

C-ya next week!

Farewell Footloose

It all came to an end last night when another OVER SOLD audience began climbing into fold out chairs just to see the show!! What a hit! I'll be posting video footage of it maybe next week.

Now with my weekends wide open it’s time to start getting back to my hobbies. Reading, jogging, drawing, and saving the world in my super hero outfit.

Gone are the late nights and bright lights and I’m comforted in the fact that it was one of the biggest productions of the year. Have an awesome Monday everybody!!
