Wonderful Life (re-edited)

Thanks Callie, for pointing the mistake out. I can't believe I missed it. Spell check isn't good for everything you know!
Wow.... so this is what it feels like to make a mistake..... cool. Now I know what it's like to feel like Jad. Posted by Picasa

Karate Kid

I ran into some old friends I used to take karate with back in my college years and can you believe they want me to come back?!? Oh and not because I was good. They want me back for the laughs!!

That’s exactly what they said. They missed the old days when I use to challenge black belts and lose…. badly! Along with the fact that when I ranked up to yellow belt I didn’t win my match… which was against a girl.

Now for my defense it was because I didn’t want to hit a girl. (Yes we had padded gloves on) but still, I couldn’t bring myself to so I lost the match but the sensei knew why so he went ahead and granted my belt. (In the midst of muffled laughter at me)

So here’s a picture of me in all my splendor. They’ll be more delicious strips tomorrow as always.

Here's an alternate colored pic of the one from yesterday. I colored this one. As you can see Cal, it's not chocolate this time... it's blood!! Ha ha! The actual photo we'll be using for the t-shirts will be posted next weekend. Hang tight.

Putting on the Ritz!

Ok folks! The time has come to start counting down the Christmas Holiday! Here I am once again dressed up in my finest duds to give you X-mas cheer!

Keep in mind my roommate once again kept me up at all hours of the night last night playing video games with his freinds. They didn't have work this morning, THAT much is obvious. So, going off 3 hours of sleep I must continue the rest of the work week hopped up on Mountain Dew and pure sugar. (go me!)

Have a great weekend folks and we'll see you next week with yet another comic strip!!

Thanksgiving 3

 Posted by Picasa

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

As some of you, may or may not know, Thanksgiving Day is my favorite holiday. Yep, that's right. Even better than Christmas. Now years back a wrote an article that got placed on a few blogs around Thanksgiving time.

At first I thought I'd just repeat what a said the last time. But figured some of you may have already heard it. So I'm here to tell you something else.

Thanksgiving time is a Day we can really sit back and thank God for all the blessings He has sent us his way. I'm SO thankful for everything He has given me. Good health, good looks (cough, cough, ahem) and an AWESOME job. Life has been good indeed, and I'm so thankful for what God has given me, I hope you are too.

So today, enjoy your meal with your family, your friends, or whoever you're with. And never forget to count the things you are thankful for as well on this day. Whether it be a good life, spouse, family, job, Cardco:The Blog, chicken, umbrella, green rubber garden hose, or Magnum P.I. coming out on DVD. Always remember my friends... you are blessed!

HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY!!!!

Thanksgiving (part 2)

 Posted by Picasa

Miss me?

Aaaawww…. Did you miss me? Well folks, due to my roommate’s lack of sense, the internet/cable bill (for the 5th time) I wasn’t able to make my daily post like I always do. But thanks for the millions of e-mails asking me where my post was this morning. (it’s nice to be missed)

As for this weeks comic strip, well it’s actually one of my favorites yet! I really hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. Remember to read the intro to it first… please.

Tomorrow I have a very special Thanksgiving Day message for you all. So be ready to be cheered in spirit, warmed in heart, and slightly confused. Until then my friends!

Intro

Once upon a time, there was an old fuddy-duddy named Matt. Who hated Thanksgiving. He made all his employees work late for him the day before and didn't let a single one of them off early to go home to their families. (hint, hint fellows) That night, his old roommate came to visit him in a vision and said he would be visited by 3 ghosts that night, to show him the real meaning of Thanksgiving.
But like every peckerwood, Matt refused to listen to his old roommate and brushed off the vision as nothing but a bad dream caused by his current roommate's lack of cleaning the dishes. (those things are getting white moldy now)
Matt climbed into his bed and had a peaceful rest that night... until the clock struck One......

Slighty not awake

For those of you wondering, this is the comic book I’m working on right now with my brother Jeremy. It won’t be published on the blog. (too many inside jokes that none of you would get) But I did this cover myself for the first issue and for some reason I’m a little proud of it. I know I have the talent of a three year old but it’s like drawing a stick figure for the first time and giving him hands. Anyone can do it, but this was your first!

Ok, it’s way to early for this, I’m going to work. Have a good weekend gang!

crossover 2 (three)

Sanrioman

Everyone's been asking me about Sanrioman. I guess not all of you have heard the story so I'll tell it to you today.

Sanrioman was a character I invented right when I started college. One of my first jobs was a retailer at a store called "Sanrio Surprises" where I first aquired the name "sanrioman" for being the only guy working at the childrens store.

Of course with a mind as warped as the next man, I started coming up with an idea for a superhero who runs around the mall in a cape and mask, trying to save people, when actually he does more goofing off than anything else.

The orignal series only lasted 20 issues. But over time people kept requesting more books so I kept drawing them until up to now. When I finally reached my 100th issue. I decided to stop his series for now and work on something else. If you like Cardco fans, I'll show you the cover to what I'm working on right now with my brother tomorrow. It's weird.... very weird, but I'll show you the cover and explain a little to you about it Friday. Until then.... enjoy the strip!

Crossover 2 (two)

Light Bulb

I believe it’s called an epiphany, when you have a really good idea or a thought of enlightenment is shed upon a situation? Whatever you call it, I had one yesterday… a BIG one. So big that I had multiple ones at the same time.

I had to keep a notebook with me all day they were coming in so fast! Nothing’s been drawn up yet, but folks, I’ve got some GREAT comic strips lined up for you for the rest of the year. I know you’re going to love them!

But enough of that for now. Let’s get on with our regularly scheduled strip. (in progress)

Hitting the strip

Once again we take on the task of exploiting all other comic strips but ours! Back by popular demand it’s part 2 of the exciting Comic Crossover series.

Oh and in other news last night, guess who won the first annual “Turkey Bowl”? With a wining score of 164 too I believe! Thank you very much! (pats self on back)

Sanrioman #100

Cardco Update

Just thought you folks would like to see what's happening in our world of comic books right now. I just completed my last run of the "Sanrioman" series as you can see here. I'm working on the next one as we speak.
I'd put the comic book online, but I doubt that half of you would even get due to the incredible amount of inside jokes that are on each page. Anyway, new strip tomorrow so you really shouldn't care right? Hope you all had a great weekend!

Keep on Walking!

I've gotten to where instead of running on my treadmill after work I just go for long walks around the neighborhood. The weather is just right for it this time of year. It's not too hot and it's not too cold. I love it! But of course after this month I may be packing it back inside I'm sure. But still, it's nice to go on a walk everyday. I encourage each of you to try it some time... especially the canuck, you could use it Jad.

Have a great weekend folks AND CUT IT OUT ON THE FRENCH!!! (j/k)

Drip, drop

I hate this place. Any suggestions on where I should move next?!

Bathroom scene

For those of you who don't know, we're on week 5 of my request from the landlord to fix my ceiling. It's leaking and has been for way over a month! Week after week I come and ask them when they're going to fix it. And week after week they give me the same line. "Oh he'll be out there today to fix it." But he never comes.
Thankfully it's over the bath tub so it doesn't hit the floor but still I don't know what else I can do to get the landlords attention. Any suggestions gang?

Wham!

So I'm watching the original "Star Trek" series and it's pretty interesting right now. For instance, where I thought it was the "red" shirt people who always died in each episode, it was actually just ANY extra with ANY colored shirt. "Red" didn't matter.
Now you also may be asking yourself WHY I'm watching the old series again. Well... simply put... I'm a nerd..... thank you. Now enjoy this weeks strip!

Party all the time

Here I am, all dressed up and nowhere to go!
Had that wonderful dream last night, we all have of waking up and making it late for work! It's like I have to have that dream about 3 times a week just to feel normal.
The whole time I'm in a rush and trying to get ready to go but something always delays me. It always ends the same too.... with my alarm clock going off and saying "You idiot, you've been in bed this whole time!"
Between that and the dream where I keep spitting out dirt from my mouth I really don't feel like dreaming anymore... it's not worth it.

Make-up post

Since I couldn't post a pic last Friday I thought I'd make up for it by posting another one today. (since I know you people can't go a full week without seeing my face at least twice) And it's funny you should mention something about your life Rick. Because I think that has a little something to do with next weeks strip. I'm not giving anymore of it away so tune in next week! (and leave your comments here)

wax on, wax off

So I had this wild dream last night where I was a teacher at this school and I had amnesia so I couldn't remember anything.

So my brother Jeremy (who was somehow the principle) would take me from class to class explaining to the stundents that I may seem a little absent minded. All the while I'm trying to figure out how I got into a teaching job?!?

Isn't it wild how we can never figure out it was just a dream until we wake up?

Today's Blog News

You know, I've been thinking about it all week and... is it really necessary to say something funny or whitty everyday on your blog? I know a lot of people TRY to do that on theirs but rarely accomplish such a feat. While others just plow away at the mundane things that happen in their lives.

Me?! Well, it's so early in the morning when I post that I hardly even know what I'm typing half the time.

Alvin's Guest Star Appearance

Yes folks, that's right. Alvin the Gremlin has finally made his way into a Cardco Comic Strip. What can I say?! I bow to the wishes of the fans (everyone once in a while) when I feel it nessessary. This being just one of those times.
For those of you who don't know "Alvin" is a pretty popular character in my newest "Sanrioman" series. Now I just want you to know this doesn't mean that I'll ALWAYS be taking suggestions from the crowd, but every so often (if the idea tickles me) I'll do it. I hope this weeks strip isn't too weird for you.
