A Strange Happening of Events (Part 2) (12)

Monday, July 26, 2010

See this guy? Well guess what? He's going to be on the next Survivor. That's right. Jimmy Johnson the former coach of the Dallas Cowboys is going to be on my favorite show. I'm not really sure how I feel about that.

This is the first "Star" they've had play. WWE diva Ashley appeared in one season only to be the second one voted out. I just don't want Survivor turning into a "celebrity" show.

Thoughts anyone?

Cardco #800

Hot Comments
That's right folks! After 17 years we've finally reached issue #800 in the Cardco comic books!

Hard to believe I've made it this far and it's all thanks to you! Not only for showing a strong following on the blog but giving your feedback as well! Both the comic strips and books have been a real joy to make. And I wouldn't be doing this unless people were interested.

If your curious, #800 focused on the unbelievable happening within the Cardco Universe.... Matt gets married. I originally thought that would be the final story I would make but there seems to be plenty more stories to make in the comics to come!

Thank you everyone for your support and have a great weekend!

Movie of the year?

This weekend I saw Predators. It was amazing. After 2 AVP movies they finally decided to drop the Aliens and give the Predators some more screen time. I hope it was worth it.

Supposedly this script was written 10 years ago and originally had Arnold the Governator, renewing his role as Dutch. But unfortunately we did not get that version.

I saw Toy Story 3 2 weeks ago and it was good too. Any other winners out there I should see? Any upcoming? (say the "Sorcerer's Apprentice" and I'll delete your comment)

3-D

Looks like the ultimate 80's throwback has come back to theaters in full affect. Yes, I know 3-D has been out since late last year but with the current news of re-releases coming out it just strengthens an already growing fad.

I haven't seen a 3-D movie before. I don't know if I ever will. Cost is one things yes, but I think the other is lack of desire. Avatar's being re-released in 3-D again with an additional 8 minutes. A move that only George Lucas would adore. But James Cameron isn't stopping there... Titanic will be re-released in UBER-LAME 3-D next year.

There is talk of the wicked King George (Lucas) doing the same with Star Wars but no word is out yet on whether he'll do it or not. My hope is "No" But in this world there's greed and there's Lucas greed...... and Lucas greed knows no bounds!

I'm betting we hear of Star Wars 3-D in the sad future. Even sadder is I'll probably drag my lazy carcuss to the theaters to see it. Not because it's 3-D, only because I can't say "No" to seeing Star Wars on the big screen.

Oh well, have a nice weekend everybody!

World Cup

I'm proud to say I never watched one second of the World Cup. Don't even know who won. Is it over?

I've realized I'm one of the FEW Americans who haven't tuned in to this event. The US couldn't care less for soccer, yet when you add the words "World Cup" they go nuts. Weird. I don't get it.

True soccer's always been my lest favorite sport, but I still don't see the point of it. Oh well. Hope everyone had a good 4th. Most of the people at the office are off today in honor of being screwed out of a holiday that landed over the weekend instead of on a week day.

PS- But I'm having to teach a class all day today.... oh well.

The next play....

Guess who's doing dinner theatre again? That's right folks! In November I'll be Ricky Ricardo! I'm going to learn how to salsa, how to mamba and (the hardest part) speak with a Cuban accent!

I'm excited to be doing it once again and glad I have plenty of time to memorize my lines. I won't be reporting much more about it till later on in the year but just thought I'd break the news here on the blog first!

Have a great 4th of July weekend everyone!
