Farewell Footloose

It all came to an end last night when another OVER SOLD audience began climbing into fold out chairs just to see the show!! What a hit! I'll be posting video footage of it maybe next week.

Now with my weekends wide open it’s time to start getting back to my hobbies. Reading, jogging, drawing, and saving the world in my super hero outfit.

Gone are the late nights and bright lights and I’m comforted in the fact that it was one of the biggest productions of the year. Have an awesome Monday everybody!!

SHARK!!

Yes I did TIVO the "Jaws" marathon that came on this weekend. But even though I haven't watched them (yet) it did want me to make this week's FFF all about sharks.
Did you know the ONLY fresh water sharks in the world live in Lake Nicaragua?! I never knew fresh water sharks even exsisted?!
Officially, I have been up for over 22 straight hours. I woke up at 3 a.m. this morning and haven't rested since! (I think I'm suffering from a sleep disorder!) But I'm so glad everyone is still enjoying "The Pac" Many of you have asked how many more are left and sadly it'll be coming to an end next week. I have a great one coming up afterwards though that I know you're going to love.
So until then, I'm off to bed. Believe me when I say this has been a VERY long day!!

Football season is over!

That's right folks! Football season has finally come to an end.... for me. Now that Auburn has lost 2 games straight to the worst teams in the NCAA I am ashamed to see them mentioned as an SEC team!

So I'm done with it. Saturday's will now be spent playing my X-Box and checking the scores at the end of the day!

Good things the Mets are going to win the World Series for me this year or I'd REALLY be upset!

As for your request on Footloose, I will be posting video footage in the next few weeks pending I get someone to come in and tape it for me. Haven't found anyone yet but I'm still looking for volunteers for our last weekend.

Speaking of, the show's have been phenominal! Folks, we sold out 4 straight show in a row and it's not even our last weekend!? Will we break the box office record for Strauss??? Who knows?!

Stay tuned....

Ole Betsy!

Let's talk about our "flag" lady for today's FFF! A few things you may not have known about Betsy Ross is that she was born with a fully formed set of teeth! And besides making our flag she also ran a munitions factory in her basement. Oh dear, Miss Betsy! What will you think of next?!

Oooo, but check this cool fun fact out. Did you know that the only PEZ head made after a real person was... Betsy Ross?!? Can that really be true?! Because if it is, then someone owes me an explanation about Santa!!

Once again folks, life is busy. We came close to selling out Thursday nights show which is really amazing. If I heard correct then Saturday and Sunday are sold out too along with Friday which basically has only a few seats left! Wow. It's just that good I suppose.

Have a great weekend folks. There's plenty more of Pacman to come so stay tuned....

Take a bow!

I can't wait to start showing you folks some clips of Footloose when they become available. It's really an amazing show! I can't tell you how glad I am just to be a part of it. Even though it keeps me busier than all get out!

Also I'm glad to hear "The Pac" is everyone's favorite. Good way to start the strips back when everyone approves of the story line. Oh yes and it gets better..... wait and see.

Hope your weekend went great folks. Let's start this week off big shall we?

Zzzzz... Wha?!

Friday already?!
Did you know that a giraffe’s baby falls 6 feet to the ground when it’s born? Ouch! Talk about being dropped on your head as a baby!!

Ok, I rushed that FFF out there pretty quick to get on to other topics. One of which involves my new play “Footloose” It’s going awesome!

The opening number has the crowd cheering over and over again! And I’m not even in it!! (oh wait… maybe that’s why) But it’s really going along very well. I’m happy with it so far.

I will try to post some footage from it in the near future but for now I’m sticking to the comic strips. Which I’m glad to see everyone enjoying them. Ok folks, have another good one and I’ll see you next week!

Happy Labor Day!

Guess what I’m doing today?! WORKING!!

Big surprise huh? Well the good news is that the comic strips will be back out and in full effect as we kick off another week! I really have some good ones that I’ve been dying to break out!

On a short note, I am glad that everyone has enjoyed the videos. And I’ve been trying all weekend to figure out a way to let ya’ll listen to the recording I have of the prank we played live on the radio last week but haven’t been able to do it. Sadly, I may just have to keep that one in story form alone!

As to the e-mails I got on if there will be more videos… hmmm…. We shall see! I know many of you have been wanting comic strips for sometime now and I’m very grateful that you still care. (and here I thought the videos would make you forget all of my art talent!)

Footloose premiers this weekend. I’m hoping to have some pictures for you next week on it. We’ll have to wait and see.
Have a great off day folks… I’m off to work…

UGH!!!

I won't lie folks... it's been a long LONG week and I'm worn out!
But at least the weekend is right arounf the corner so maybe I can get some rest then! Between work and play (pun intended) I really haven't had time to do anything else?!
So let's just get right to the FFF shall we?
Did you know that on a mission to outer space, it was discovered that a frog could throw up it's entire stomach?! Yeah, and it'll use it's forarms to empty out it's contents then swallow his stomach back in!
Did you even WANT to know that folks?
Oh well.... have a good one!

Punked!

Ok, I can talk now.

As you know, I've been on a few radio stations lately, promoting "Footloose". However when I got a call from the good people at FM 102, they wanted me for a different reason.

To pull a prank on their morning DJ.

Of course I agreed and plans were drawn up on to how it would go down. Here's how it went:

It was her birthday today so she was on the air talking about that when all of the sudden who should walk RIGHT into their studio but an avid fan..... a fan of Jeni Lane's. (the DJ)

He proceeded to tell her what an awesome women she is and what a BIG fan he is as well. He even starts to mention that he drives by her house every day and is always wanting to stop by and say hello.

At this point her face is aghast and she doesn't know what to think. The fan asks if his buddie can come into the studio too (we're still "live" here folks) before she can say anything, her boyfriend maked it through the door as the fan calmly announces....

"Hi, my name is Matt Wilkins. I am an actor and you've just been punked."

Glorious.

I should have a recording of it by the end of the week. I'll see if I can post it somehow on the blog. Until then, have a great day folks!

A little sump'um, sump'um!

Got something BIG coming up right now folks.

Stay tuned and I’ll give you the whole scoop this afternoon….

So far?

I'm amazed at the wild reponses I've received from these videos. I'm really glad you all have enjoyed them! There's more on the way!

But now let us sit back and reflect on todays FFF!

As you can already guess it's about the tiger. Did you know that not only is his fur striped, his skin is also!!

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, thanks to everyone who called telling me they heard me on the radio this week. (and here I thought nobody listened)

For those who don't know, I've been bouncing from station to station promoting the new play Footloose. (opening Sept 6 thru the 23rd at Strauss Theater) I'd like to thank my friends at 103 and 106 for letting me share the air waves with them for a while. I had a blast!

Now on to business.

The conclusion of our "nomicon" will be next week. By then I'm hoping to have even funnier stuff for ya'll then. But until that time enjoy the weekend folks!

BONUS FFF: Donald Duck's middle name was "Fauntleroy"... who knew?

Hello all!

Well, if you’re a fan of Harry Potter you’re really going to enjoy this weeks post! And if you’re not a Harry Potter fan you’re STILL going to enjoy this weeks post!

Some of you have heard the story already but for those who haven’t I’ll fill you in. During the opening night of the book release, my partner in crime CJ and I went to Books-A-Million to see what all the hub-bub was about.

These video post, I’ll be bringing to you this week all came from that night. Each one shouldn’t last more than over 2 minutes each and are all hilarious!

I know some of you have been requesting them for weeks so I finally got around to doing it. And starting tomorrow…. Harry-Potter-Nomicon begins!!!

Late FFF

I spent 45 minutes this morning trying to get this stupid post put up on blogger.

I'm tired of writing.

I just got in from another long day, I'm going to bed, it's been a busy week.

But not busy enough for a quick FFF!!!

Do you know what the channel ESPN stands for?!

Every Sports Possible Network

Wild huh? I thought it'd be a lot cooler than that. Guess that's why they just give you the abbreviation only these days.

OK, goodnight and have a grand weekend!

Can't wait I see?

I just posted this to my YouTube account and before I could even post the link I found out it's already been viewed 5 times?! Holy Crow! What are you people doing?! Sitting around waiting anxiously for the next video to come out?

My, my, what avid fans.

This is a bit of footage I thought had been deleted from my camera by accident. I'm happy to say that I found a little snippit of it for your enjoyment.

Tony my friend, I'm sorry it got cut out. It was really a sweet clip and I'm very sad we didn't get it all. Oh well. Enjoy!

So I've gotten only a couple dozen e-mails the past few weeks asking about new video posts. Well guess what folks? They're finally here. Oh wait! Hold on! You're getting 3 full weeks of them too!! 3 a week for the next 2 weeks! WA-HOO!!

This first one comes from Beauty and the Beast. It was filmed for the "Behind the Scene's" DVD but was never released, enjoy!

Well, I'm back.

It's so good to be back home folks!

I had a wonderful time and thank everyone up in Idaho for it, but now it's time to get back to business!

My new position starts today as well as my return to the "Footloose" cast. Big day, big day indeed. I do hope everyone made it thru the week here without me. I will try to get around to those videos this week. I can't promise anything right now but I will be giving it an effort!

As for the strips, those will return as well, I've written several more during my vacation and can't wait to have them posted up here! I'm glad a lot of you loved the last series, I have to admit the idea had me chuckling for weeks.

Ok, I'm off to work. See you all tomorrow.

It's really good to be back!

Suprise?

Hi folks,

I'm on vacation in Idaho this week so there will be no posts. Sorry for not telling you all earlier but I wanted it to be a suprise and indeed it has been for quite a few!

I also got a promotion at work too that I'm proud to announce starts the moment I get back from here.

So have a great week folks and we'll see you next week with more fun on the way!

Chow!

Frenzy FFF

I'm a little beat but let's see what I can whip up for you here real quick.

Did you know Telly Savalas and Louis Armstrong both died on their birthdays? How wild is that?! Oh wait... do you even know who Louis Armstrong or Telly Savalas is? Hmmm... forget it.

First off I'd like to apologize for everyone who hasn't received any e-mails from me this week. It's really been a tough week for me. I have to be honest. Life is... busy. But in a good way! I'm working on delivering some very exciting news in the near future but for right now it'll have to wait till the "Monday Morning Me" post.

Let's talk about other things shall we? Life is great, what can I say, it doesn't get any better than this. Things at work are awesome as always. I set up my 360 yesterday but can't figure out how to hook it up to my sound system yet. (something I may work on tomorrow) I put in my NCAA College Football game I just bought for it, watched the tutorial and put it right back in it's box to gather dust.

It's WAY to out of my league. I have NO idea how to play this game because it is so different from anything else I've ever played. I guess my only choice will be to trade it in for a 3rd of it's cost in exchange for some money off Halo 3. Which looks to be the only game I'll be playing it for.
(and all the sudden my 360 is not so special after all)

That was sad I can't deny. But I did hook up the old GameCube and play Mario Kart Double-Dash for the first time. It's a really fun game I just bought and I really like it.

OK. This is turning into an MMM already! I'd better stop while I'm ahead. Hey folks, have an awesome weekend.

360

Guess what I have? An X-Box 360 Elite!! Yes, yes, some of you recieved my text message over the weekend about it but I'm still excited about it today. I'm hoping to hook it up and start playing it sometime this week.

Let me see... besides that I don't think much else went on. I had a fabulous time visiting my grandparents in Mobile AL and now I'm ready to start the new week.

How was ya'lls?

The Hitch

Everyone know of Alfred Hitchcock right? Well, here's an interesting fact about the man. Did you know he didn't have a belly button?

Nope. True story! They sewed it up after surgery. Can you believe that? The poor man never experienced the joys of belly button lint!?
Not that I would know of any joys belly button lint would get you in the first place.
It's been a grand week. I hope you all have felt the same. I am trying to get those videos up but I haven't had the time. Thru a million request, I'm trying to read the final Harry Potter book myself so that "everybody" can talk to me about it.
I plan on finishing it sometime next week so after that I should have the time to complete the videos.
Ok folks that's all for now. Take care and have a wonderful weekend!

Monday Morning Me

Today the MMM is all about Me. (as always)

As some of you already know, CJ, Caleb and I went on an excursion thru Books-a-Million in search of Harry Potter nerds last Friday night. (and boy did we hit the jackpot) Now the video footage we took of it WAS extremely hilarious but I'm not sure if I'll have time to beak it down into video posts for this week or not. Believe me I'll do everything I can to but as things look right now, I just don't have the time.

Now another video I've been dying to post is a deleted "behind the scenes" clip of Beauty and the Beast. I think it's hilarious but need to find out which tape it's on first. (I have 3 full ones with no titles on them. I'll try to search for that too.

Ok, hope everyones weekend was as eventful as mine. Some of the things that happened to me this weekend I don't think any of you would believe but overall I have to say, it was an adventure!

The FFF word

Fun Fact Friday is all about “word” knowledge this week folks!

Did you know “underground” is the only word in the English language that begins and ends with the letters “und”?

And according to the Oxford dictionary the longest word is “pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis”

The longest place name still in use a hill in New Zealand called “taumatawbakatangihangakoauaotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokiawhenuakita”

And the only word in the English language that uses just one vowel 6 times is the word “Indivisibility”

Also the words “Facetious” and abstemious” are the only 2 in the English language that use all the vowels in order.

Oh and wanna know what the 2nd longest word is? “antidisestablishmenterianism”
Ha! Not even close to being first right?

Sorry about going so long without a post folks. I plan on making it up to everyone with a Saturday post of the comic strip. I’ll try not to let it happen again!

C-ya!

Coming Soon...

The Special Edition DVD of our Beauty and the Beast play is one step closer to it’s completion! CJ and I just laid the commentary tracks for everything last night. I have to warn you, it’s a little crazy.

But I do have some information on DVD that isn’t very good. Cuts. They can’t put our “behind the scenes” footage on it or our “Christopher Award Skit” either. They even lost the “secret ending” footage we shot on our last day. So it won’t be as awesome of first conceived.

But I am thinking about posting some of the “behind the scenes” footage for everyone on the blog one week so you’ll get to see a portion of the humor we had in store.

Nothing else new to report but Footloose I guess. No word on what part I’ll play in it yet but rumor is I’m not getting a part at all. Just chorus. Ahh… and my 15 minutes are up like that!

Freezing FFF

So get this. In every place around the world there is an dialing code. Did you know that even Antarctica has one?! Yeah. It's 672

So if you ever want to call your friend in Antarctica there you go! Who lives there anyway? Sure I've heard of expeditions out there but has anyone set up a house and started living there?

Maybe some poor sap hear lives down in South America near the equator said "Honey, let's move some place where it's cooler!"

Do you think the penguins from Happy Feet still live there? I bet they do. Yep, singing penguins... who'd have known! It's way too cold for us to ever find out! Though I doubt they sing young teeny-bopper beats like they did in the movies.

Nah. I bet if penguins really could sing and dance it's be to disco music if anything else. Oh yeah... disco pen-guin-go fever is sweeping the continent!

But you'll have to dial 672 if you want to talk to them yourself.

Have a great weekend folks!

Let me explain

Here's a picture some of you saw of me in the paper yesterday. I was at the auditions for Footloose and the NewsStar was there taking pictures. I had no idea they were actually going to put this one in there though.
I had a few people ask me what was so funny off to the side but I think it was Rick and I just laughing with Tony who was standing off to the side. Man look at Kim... she's really bearing down on that paper ain't she?
Anyway, the audition went well. I was the best male actor there.... I was the only male actor there. (Rick just came to hang out) I'll know which role I got tomorrow, but yes. I'm in the play.
Hope everyone's weekend went as well as mine!

FFF once again!

Time for Fun Fact Friday once again! This time it has a little "stooge" with it! Everyone knows who the 3 Stooges are. (I hope) but did you know that out of the six of them (Moe, Larry, Curly, Shemp, Joe, and Curly Joe) That 3 of them were actual brothers!?!
Moe, Curly and Shemp. I don't know about you, but I never knew that!
This week has been awesome. Really. Work is at it's best right now my time is really doing well. I've played Mario Kart so much this week that I'm actually starting to have dreams of racing down Rainbow Road. People have been asking about when new pictures would be popping up and I must say it has been a while. I'll see what I can do.
Oh, but here's a cool thing. Look up "Matt Wilkins" on Google and guess who's site pops up first? Yep. That's right! Mine!! (yes, I "google" me)
Thanks for your patience on me answering your e-mails. It's just been a crazy week and I haven't had the time to respond to them all like I usually do. But I promise it'll get better!
Everyone have a great weekend, I love you all!!

Another week

Ok. I'm done with "As You Like It" so finally my week nights should be getting back to normal very soon.

I wasn't able to get a recording of my performance like I wanted. So no video posts of that play. Sorry. I tried.

Doesn't matter much anyway because I was hardly in it in the first place to make a difference.

Oh well. I have a new comic strip this week which should run for the next month or so. I think it's really funny and if you don't enjoy it as well.... then don't bother checking my blog again till September.

Thanks for all the e-mails these past few weeks. I promise I'll get around to answering each one ASAP now that my nights aren't tied up.

Now, with that all being said ONWARD WITH THE WEEK!

Penny for your thoughts?

Did you know that if you toss a penny 10,000 up in the air that it will not be head 5000 times but only 4950? That's because of the weight distribution on the coin. The head weighs more and that makes it more likely to fall on the bottom making tails the most common victor!

I wonder how they found that out though. Please don't tell me government research and money was wasted on this fact. And 10,000 times?! I bet it was a couple of bored college students, what do you think?

Off to work!

I hope to get some video footage of the play for next weeks posts. It's been a long weekend (of course) and I'm in a constant state of "worn out". Maybe I can get to bed by 8 tonight? (I'm getting old!)

Getting Popular?

The FFF is attracting more and more attention every week I see! Well, well, I'd better start making them more interesting as time goes on then!

So what should I tell you about today?

Did you know Charlie Brown's father was actually a barbar!?

What about the most common name in all the world is?

Can you guess?

Bob? Nope.

John. No.

Muhammed? Uh... actually... yeah. Wild isn't it?

That's all for now. Have a great weekend folks!

Time for another Monday Morning Me today!

Well, it's been a rough weekend. I'm so tired I don't think I'll ever catch up on sleep! We had our final performances of Beauty and the Beast this weekend and they all went well. "As You Like It" starts this weekend so all of our practices from here on out will be.... long. 6 am came very quickly to me this morning and I am so very tired from this weekend I want to go back to bed and sleep another 7 hours!

Oh well.

Hope everyone elses weekend went well. We start comic strips back once again tomorrow!

FFF what?

Time to explain again what the FFF stands for. It means "Friday's Fun Fact" I've been doing this so long that I keep forgetting we have many new readers everyday who don't have a clue of what I'm talking about so I thought I'd explain it once more.

Today's FFF is about the man above. Mark Twain. Yeah, yeah, he wrote a few famous books but you wanna know something real interesting? He was born in the year 1835. When Haley's Comet came into view. Then died in 1910... when Haley's Comet came back around. Wild huh?

Hope everyone has a great weelend. It's the last call for Beauty and the Beast and I'll be donning the Cogsworth outfit for the final time! Woo-Hoo!

Ta-Daa!!!

Look at that good looking man in the tux on one knee. (to the right) Isn't he a darling!! This is a picture of me performing at the 75th Anniversary show last month. Oh, what a time what a time!

My A/C is back on so everything is good in the world once again! I'm getting ready for the encore presentation of Beauty and the Beast this week. Then for the next two weeks I'll be performing Shakespear's "As you like it" And in July I've been asked to take part in "High School Musical" over at the Rose theater in Ruston. I'm also told that I'll be in "Footloose" as well this September. (maybe I should start charging for these appearances, what do you think?

I'll do a poll tomorrow to decide!

Sorry folks! No A/C has delayed my comic strip for the week. I have some "emergency" junk here I break out for such an occasion.

It seems a few of you have craftily found this link already. So I'll provide it openly now for everyone who may not have seen it yet.

No A/C!!!

I'm burning up in here! It's been an inferno all weekend at my house. They said they couldn't fix the A/C till later on today. I can't tell you how many pounds I've sweated off in the meantime!

Blah! Short post today is all you get!

FFFF (for Funny!)

So we've talked a little about laughter in this weeks strip but did you know laughter is actually good for you? Besides increases your mood it's also been proven to relieve stress hormones in the body as well as lower blood pressure.

Laughter's also a good way increasing the vascular blood flow throughout you body. In fact, some scientists estimate that laughing 100 times is equivalent to a 10-minute workout on a rowing machine, or to 15 minutes on a stationary exercise bike. Laughing exercises the diaphragm, as well as the abdominal, respiratory, facial, leg, and back muscles!

So you see?! My blog really IS good for your health!

You're welcome and enjoy your weekend folks.

Monday Me

What a weekend! I hope yours went well. I spent mine visiting friends in Branson, MO this weekend and had an awesome time! Now it's back to work, push-push, shove-shove!
I'm glad you all liked the videos from last week. I'm planning on bringing a few more on the site this week before going back to the comic strips. Don't worry. This is only a temporary thing. I have some great comics coming up soon that I know you're all going to like!

And yes, it was my birthday last week. I never mentioned it because it really isn't as big a deal to me as it is other people. The only thing I ever do for my birthday every year is eat over at my mom and dad's, open presents, then go home for bed. The end. Poof! That's it.

But thank you for the hundreds of belated wishes and phone calls over the weeknd. They were much appreciated. Kudos to Kelly for being the only person to wish me "happy b-day" on the actual day of. (Oh, and Hollie... you ARE a terrible friend, but I'll keep you around all the same)

Ok folks, have a great week!

FFF frenzy!

Wow, what a week. I still carry a cough but the rest of my sickness is about done. This has probably been the 2nd worse I've ever been in my life. I'll just be glad when I finally kick the coughing to the side and I am 100% well again!

Now as for our FFF....

After my $5 bill FFF ya'll started e-mailing more questions to me about money. I didn't really answer any e-mails this week because I was sick but it changed my mind for today's FFF. Ok, a lot of you asked about the $1000 bill. Who was on it? Why president Cleveland of course. Do they still make them? No.

Those (as well as the $500 bills) are no longer in circulation. Yeah you could find one on ebay still I imagine but not at a bank. I'm not sure when they stopped making them but I believe it was around the mid 1946 and circulation for them ceased after 1969

So how big a bill did they actually make? Well Andrew Jackson actually graced the cover of a $10,000 bill once. Mainly used as a "gold certificate" but still it's pretty cool. They stopped making those in 1934.

Ok, I'm done for the week. Hey, just a thought here but what do you think about a few more video post for next week as well?
