Saved by the Bell Season 2 (Review)

Boy what an awful show....but I do enjoy it.

Awful for being so woke it's ridiculous to watch. But here's the highlights from Season 2 I thought were good.

1) Screech tribute.

Since Dustin Diamond passed away this year they decided to pay tribute to him in the first episode....and you could tell they didn't want to.

The "tribute" is not at all connected to the storyline and is basically one scene at the end where the original cast meets, talks about Screech for 20 seconds and cuts to a short montage of him before fading out. Not even an "In loving Memory" was given at the end for Diamond. You could tell there was ZERO love between the actor and the people involved in the show.

2) Good Morning Miss Bliss reference.

The funny thing about this show is that they at least know how to poke fun at themselves. Slater pokes at several plot holes in the original series that surrounded him such as why he never saw his mom, or why his sister only showed up to school once (for one episode) but the funniest mention of all was when Zach told his son there are times when you'll never be able to explain your life.

"Life when you go to middle school in Ohio and wake up your freshman year of high school in California and no one explains how you got there."

I died.

3) Showgirls is "canon" within the Saved by the Bell universe.

One episode Jessie tells the other girls that she went by an alias after highschool and went to Vegas as a dancer....where she pushed a girl down the stairs in an attempt to kill her or sabotage her career.

It's the plot line to the old NC-17 movie Showgirls she starred in after wrapping Saved by the Bell. Really funny that she decided to go along with the joke the writers prepared for her.

4) Mac Morris

Holy cow. This kid is great. Possibly the ONLY new kid you end up loving in the series. He's like his Dad but not a complete copy. Self absorbed and idiotic, Mac Morris is a really well written character on the show and got me laughing several times.

Should you watch this? Nah. Probably not. But if you did, it'd be ok. There are certainly worse shows to waste your time on.

I'll be watching Season 3 when it comes out....next year?
