The Lame Celebration
So the Star Wars Celebration just wrapped up and let's look at what we got out of it:
John Williams is doing the music for Episode 7...well duh. We knew that already. But they announced it like it'd been a secret this whole time. LAME
The new logo for the upcoming cartoon came out. They also released a few rough drawings of the planets and ships but overall gave the fanboys nothing to write home about. LAME
Virtually NOTHING was said about Episode 7 once again leaving fans in the dark about the entire series. Our only hope is that Disney's D23 in August will provide some insight into the films but I'm skeptical. If it hasn't happened so far it won't happen until next year.
In fact the only rumors we know about D23 is that Disney plans to unveil it's development sketch of "Star Wars World" at Disney World/Land, which should be exciting news to hear but certainly not enough for us in general.
If you've been keeping up in the news lately there's been a lot of pressure from the media to see what Disney plans to do with the Expanded Universe and of course that's the ONLY question on my mind to. It will decide whether I'm seeing the films or not. But Lucasfilm and Disney have been tight-lipped about subject in fact one source says they still haven't decided what they want to do about it.
I was hoping someone would bring it up in the Q&A to Kathleen Kennedy at Celebration but they all pitched soft ball questions to her (as expected) No one had the courage to speak up and get to the point. I was surprised by a comment the new head of Lucasfilm made concerning the prequels. She said they focused too much on special effects and not on the storyline or characters. WOW!
I guess now that Emperor Lucas has stepped down from his thrown, she can now admit to the world that the Emperor truly had no clothes?! That was the most shocking news for me from this whole LAME-fest hands down.
I spoke about this to Megan but her eyes glazed over and the only thing she could say was "huh" so I decided to share it with all of you instead.
Have a great day!

August movie review!
Can you believe we're already through with the month of July?! Ok, so let's see what's up for grabs in August to watch on the big screen!
2 Guns: August 2nd
Hooray, Mark Wahlberg!! Oh wait... Denzel's in it? Nevermind.
Planes: August 9th
I guess since the Cars franchise was killed off when they made the sequel Disney had to think of something else. Walla! Planes. I'll probably end up seeing this though because they hired Val Kilmer as voice talent?! HECK YEAH!
Elysium: August 9th
Matt Damon? YESSSSSS!!! Oh wait... is that Jodie Foster's name right next to his? Um, nevermind.
Kick Ass 2: August 16th
I wouldn't say I'm looking forward to this film, I WOULD say that I'd like to see it. The first one was very creative and I'm surprised it's taken them this long to finally come out with a sequel. Should be a fun popcorn flick all the same!
Anything comments? Leave them below.

Trouble in paradise?
Well it hasn't even been a week since the Comic Con let out and already rumors are flying around that JJ's bailing on Star Wars.
It all started when at a Star Trek panel it was alluded that JJ would be returning to finish the series. In fact I heard rumors from many folks telling me that JJ WAS directing Star Trek 3 after all. But ever since that rumor got out Disney has vehemently denied it.
I'm curious to figure out the truth on this because it isn't the first time I've heard such rumors.
A few months ago there was a rumor (which ended up being true) that Lucas Film wanted to do the movie over in Europe, something JJ was against. But the studio ended up getting their way, which has led to other rumors as well...JJ's not happy.
This makes sense to me because for Star Trek they handed JJ the reigns of the dying series that was losing it's luster with audiences. Star Wars is a completely different beast. The books, video games and TV show have kept this firmly in the minds of the populous. If JJ was thinking about coming in with "god-like" abilities to do whatever he wanted with the series, he's sadly mistaken.
It must be frustrating being the ruler of one genre to becoming the whipping boy of another. I'm sure JJ isn't happy about that.
Will he continue on as director of Star Wars? Oh yes. JJ's ego won't allow him to bow down from a huge project as this. My only hesitation is this, JJ's a pathological liar. When people figure out his plans he denies them completely until the truth unfolds we were right all along.
So he's saying he's not leaving Star Wars and that the rumors are false and THAT has me in doubt right there.
Time will tell if he books or not, I guess we'll just have to wait and see!
Weapon shaped push pins!
Amazon, you crafty dogs! You've done it again! Do you use push pins? Well some joker thought he'd take one step further when he invented these!

Zombie gift ideas
Now it's time to talk about a few gifts of the living dead. Let's see what we got!
Go to wish.co.uk and check out this package vacation idea. An abandon mall the turned into a huge Zombie shooting game with live actors portraying the undead as they chase you throughout the mall. Will you make it out alive or be perish at the hands of walkers?!
Too bad it's located in the UK or I'd be all over that!
Megan would love these bedsheets.
She would have wanted this on our wedding cake too.
She WOULD NOT want this in our front lawn...but I would!

Survivor: Blood va Water rejects
So who DIDN'T make it into the cast of Survivor this season and why? Let's look at a few now.
Shambo: Survivor Samoa
I heard the producers would LOVE to have Shambo back but out mullet wearing queen has declared that one is enough for her and she won't be coming back to the game. Sad because I would like to see her play again. I found her more interesting than most of the woman that get cast on the show.
Terry Dietz: Survivor Panama
I'm kinda surprised at this one. Terry seems like he'd be the perfect fit for the studio looking for "older" players to return but I guess they didn't feel now was the time. He was considered by the producers but for some unknown reason the ended up going with somebody else.
Ok, that's it. Who'd YOU wish they could bring back for another season?!

Natalie Bolton: Survivor Micronesia
For some reason one of Pavarti's "fearsome four" from that season was considered by the prodcution crew to return for another season. She really wasn't a power player like the other 3 girls were. I guess since they HAD the other three from this team return to the game, they thought they should give Natalie another chance too. I for one, am glad they didn't.
Rob Cesternino: Survivor Amazon
Another shocker to me is the OTHER Rob to play Survivor. Rumor has it he's been considered but never asked back. It's too bad though, because he's a funny guy and I'd love to see him return back to the show some day. Guess it just wasn't in the cards this time around.
Stephanie Valencia: Survivor Redemption Island
Russell Hantz's pet was also considered for a reboot in the newest season but was later turned down. Again, good call. She had no power when Russell left and would be worthless on the show unless Tyson needed a puppet. And speaking of...
Russell Hantz: Survivor Samoa
The greatest villain of them of all and mastermind of the game of Survivor has be banned from the playing again! Supposedly after Brandon's outburst on the show and later being banned from the live reunion, Russell went to Twitter to express his anger over how his nephew was treated by the studio. The result? He and Brandon are now both banned from returning to the game. So just like Johnny Fairplay, they'll be a loving memory of characters we'll never forget (or see) on the show again.

MUST read!!
The Wall Street Journal came out with an excellent article on the impact the Star Wars books have on the franchise. It's the very reason I will NOT see the new movies if they contradict the Star Wars EU.
You can read it here.

Siurvivor Blood vs Water Cast
Aras Baskauskas: Survivor Panama.
I'm shocked by this. Last I heard from this Yoga Guru/Survivor Winner was that he was not returning to the game because he had a company to run. But I guess when you let him bring along another family member he caved in to the request. Not for himself, but for whoever in his family wanted to go. He's a good guy. It'll be interesting how he's going to play the game this time around.
Colton Cumbie: Survivor One World
My wife's most hated person to play the game returns and it shouldn't be a surprise for anyone. I'm just shocked he wasn't asked back for last season. He'll be a big threat once again this year and will probably go far. He's bringing his boyfriend with him so it should be interesting to see if he's as big a bully as Colton is.
Gervase Peterson: Survivor Borneo
WHAAAAAAAT?! Another shocker for me. They brought back someone from season 1?! WOW. Though the only memorable thing he did was gag over eating a worm, Gervase is coming back with his nephew to play the game. But a lot has changed with the game since he played. Let's see if he's able to keep up the new style of play this season. I'm doubtful to say the least.
Kat Edorsson: Survivor One World
Dumb and Dumber is back! Rumor has it, the only reason she was asked back was so she could bring her boyfriend Hayden Moss into the game. Hayden was a guy who won Big Brother one year. I didn't watch the show but I heard he was a favorite. My bet is he'll be eaten alive when it comes to Survivor.
Laura Morett: Survivor Samoa
Do ask me. She was a no name player during Russell's first appearance. She did nothing interesting in the game and I'm guessing the only reason she's back is because the production team has a hard time of finding interesting woman that were past players who fans remember. Who cares about her. Moving on!
Monica Culpepper: Survivor One World
Monica is the 3rd contestant from One World and the only reason they brought her back is for her football playing husband Brad. In fact, that's really the only thing memorable about Monica on the show. CBS hyped it every episode she was featured in almost. They crave to get an NFL crowd of folks watching it so it makes sense to bring her and her husband in to play the game. My guess is they blindside her husband then take her out in the following tribal council.
RC Saint-Amour: Survivor: Phillippines
Not a surprise either is RC coming back to play again. It's obvious she was a favorite of the producers but is she good enough to go to the end? That's still left to be determined.
Rupert Boneham: Survivor Pearl Islands
When Rupert was first on the show. I loved him. In All-Stars he embarrassed himself by showing the world what an idiot he could be and in Heroes vs Villains I hated him. Rupert should have never come back the last two times because I would've been excited to see he and his wife coming back to play the show instead I'm rolling my eyes and hoping he gets voted out first. In Pearl Islands the pirate theme fit him. But in Survivor as a whole, he's not cut out for it.
Tina Wesson: Survivor Austailia
Another shocker for him. According to all previous reports, she was done with the game and to be honest, seeing how she bombed in All-Stars I didn't blame her. Without Colby's coat tails to ride, Tina and her husband should expect another early exit from the game.
Tyson Apostol: Survivor Tocantis
I've got to be honest, I love this guy. He's exactly what I would be playing this game. Funny and mean spirited. I was sorry to see his early exit from the game in Heroes vs Villains but I'm glad the producers are giving him a second chance. Hopefully he and his girlfriend will make it far in the game. He's one of the most interesting characters to watch!
Ok, so that about does it! I'll talk tomorrow about the folks they missed out on and why.

Great Star Wars gifts
A Star Wars coffee table where you can showcase your Star Wars action figures. I don't have any to show off but I'd be impress with someone who did.
What better way to show her you love her than a Death Star necklace? Warning: I here it falls apart if hit in a specific spot!
Wow. Words cannot express how awsome this jacket is. In Top Gun if Goose had sported this instead of a leather jacket he'd still be alive today!
Side note: Whoever wore this would get ultimate shotgun in my car.
