Dinosaur Ride (1)
This ride was a lot more scarier than I remember it to be. It's also my favorite ride at Animal Kingdom.
Megan's too, which she'll explain why in another upcoming clip later on today : )

Costumed freaks! (1)
Whoa, that was way more post yesterday than I thought it would be. I'll only post 2 vids today. The next one will be up around lunch.
These clips are just of a few costumed people we saw around Animal Kingdom. When one blows Megan a kiss Megan refer's to Oz (my nephew) who for some reason LOVES Megan.
Though I have no idea why... : )

Safari Ride (1)
If you ever go to Animal Kingdom the very first thing you should do that morning is go on this ride. It's SO much fun!
I'll be posting video's of this ride all day long so continue to check in.

Animal Kingdom
The first place we went to visit was the Animal Kingdom. You forget how great even places like this are until you revisit it again.
By the way, anyone notice how Megan's more happy to be in Disney World than anywhere else?

So if you're friends with Megan on Facebook, you've probably seen all the photos we took. But I'm going to be showing you all the video footage as well.

Dunkun Doughnuts
So whenever we go somewhere, I always like to try new places. So the first place we went to was right down the road. Dunkun Doughnuts. It was a really good place and I think they have the best doughnuts I've ever eaten! (this includes Krispy Kreme)
Anyway, here's a short bit on what I had.

Homecoming
So it's been a month since our vacation and I'm just now getting around to posting our videos from it.
Here's when we first arrived and saw Charity for the first time. Megan's not faking in the video here, for some reason she's sincerely happy to see Charity.
Me? I was just hoping to get some water works from her...and I did!

Retired Mascots

Ay, Yi, Yi, Yiiiii.... look at the Frito Bandito!
Man used to be a legend until he was deemed too "racist" and forced into retirement. Why racist? The guns, the gold tooth (not shown in this picture) and the fact that he'd try to "steal" your fritos. Absolutely ridiculous. I wish they could make fun of a "white guy" somewhere.
You know, make him... I don't know, dumb, arrogant, clueless, take your pick! Make fun of us to your hearts content and guess what? I wouldn't be offended. At all. Like I said, totally ridiculous.

Joe Camel. Forced into oblivion for being too appealing to children.
Seriously?
Look at this guy. He looks more ridiculous to me than cool. How could a kid look at this and say "OOH! I want to smoke too!!"
No, they want to smoke for other reasons. To be rebellious, look "cool", influenced by their favorite on screen action hero, who knows! There are a million reasons why a kid would want to smoke... Joe the Camel wasn't one of them.
Ok, I've said my piece. We'll move on to something else tomorrow!

Ridiculous ramblings

So I'm sure some of you have heard this by now, but there's a group fighting McDonald's to "retire" their mascot Ronald because he promotes child obesity.
WHAT?!
One of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard! (by the way, weren't we all supposed to die last Saturday?) First off, clowns are NOT in. Kids don't like clowns these days, they're more afraid of them, than love'em.
Plus, I'm amazed no one's pointed a finer at the real culprit here... the parents. They act like these kids can get in a car, drive to Micky D's and order themselves a Big Mac off their parent weekly allowance. HELLO!! It's the parents of these kids that are the ones making the bad choices for them.
"Oh, but it appeals to the children!" you say. Ok, so do toy commercials, movies and a million other things, but as a parent you can say "No." to that, right??
So why don't the parents own up and blame themselves instead of a fast food restaurant which even the biggest of idiots can tell you they don't deal in health food products?!
Some days I just don't get it.
If your a parent, YOU control what your children eat. As kids, we hardly went out. Mom cooked us some pretty mean meals but they were healthy and the right thing for us to eat. (even if we didn't like them from time to time) Going out was a treat for special occasions.
Now lazy parents run by the fast food place every evening because it's easier to do that than cook. I'm not saying it's wrong to do that from time to time when you've had a busy day, but EVERY DAY? Yeah, that's an issue.
Just to let you know, I have no special interest in McDonalds. I just hate when people try to pass the blame onto somebody else for something that is ultimately their own fault.
Tomorrow we'll look at a few other silly decisions against corporate mascots!

Netflix

After several years I've decided to give Netflix another try. So far, so good. My DVD's still take a while to get to me (as always) they never arrive on the estimated date.
But the streaming video is nice. I've watched a few things on it, I just wish they had more stuff I was interested in on streaming.
So what's in my que?
Return to the Batcave
The Flash (TV show)
I Love Lucy
Darkwing Duck
Yeah... random I know. The funny thing is after that, I'll be just about done with any dvd's I wanted to see!
Hopefully Megan will be able to fill the list before too long.
Hope you're having a weekend folks!

Batman 1966

So lately, Megan and I have been watching the old Batman series on TV and I have to admit, it's awesome. It's comes on the HUB channel at nights, so if you get that station let me assure you, this show is well worth your time!
From the "Batusi" to the "Alf Cycle" this show has it all! I laugh at every episode I see. BRILLIANTLY DONE!
This show delivers on all levels! I loved it as a kid for different reasons than I do now.
Studying online I never knew how much the comic book was influenced by this show. For instance:
1) Riddler was never considered to be a "main" villain for Batman until after this show!
2) Alfred had been killed off in the comics long before the show ever aired. DC had no intention of bringing him back either until the show became so popular they decided to "re-write" Alfred back into the comic books.
3) Mr Freeze was called Mr Zero, until the show came out and changed his name.
4) Before the show was cancelled, plans were made to have Two-Face appear in an episode...starring Clint Eastwood!
5) Jerry Lewis, Sammy Davis Jr, Colonel Klink (from the TV Show Hogan's Heros), Lurch (from the Adam's Family), The Green Hornet and Kato (starring Bruce Lee!!)All the actors were in character!
6) Frank Sinatra and Carey Grant wanted on the show but the producers didn't have time to put them in.
Those are just a few of the hundreds of facts about the show, I encourage you to look up more online in your spare time. And give this show a chance, it's well worth the time I assure you.
C-ya!

Jurassic Park

First off, why the heck is this a water ride? Anyway, right as the huge T-Rex comes roaring out of the shadows (hence Megan's face) you have a 50 foot drop. (hence my face)
So there you have it. What I look like on just about every ride I went on.
Hope you got a few laughs out of it all this week. Have a good one!

Well, I thought real quick this week I could show you some of the pictures from our vacation.
This one is of course from Sea World, I love how Meg is posing and I'm totally not paying attention to the camera. I'll be posting pictures from the rides we went on and for your enjoyment you get to see my many faces of horror.
Until tomorrow I suppose...

The down right ridiculous

As reported on my Dad's blog months ago, the infamous moron Harold Camping has predicted the world will in tomorrow at 6:00 PM.
This is the same guy that predicted the end of the world in 1994. Hmmm... My dad said ti best though, I'd love to run into someone who believes this garbage and ask him to surrender his worldly goods since they won't be needing them after tomorrow anyway.
In other happy news the CDC (Center for Disease Control) made a brilliant PR move and attracting millions of " people to their site by publishing a "Zombie Apocalypse" warning to the public and giving them instructions on what to do in the event one comes about.
The idea was so successful it shut down their website for the next day and half. It's back up now and is available here if you want to take a look.
Looks like we'll have an exciting weekend needless to say. So, if I don't hear from you folks next week... I'll be shocked.
Have a good weekend everyone!

Things I learned in Orlando

So a few things I learned while visiting Orlando, let me share:
1) Disney CAN be done in a day. (If you have a plan) Make a plan of what rides and what order you want it done and you can make it happen. Megan and I were able to do everything we wanted in plenty of time. Though limited albeit, it was everything we wanted to do.
2) Universal Studios CAN NOT be done in a day. (at least not if you're going for the first time) We made a valiant effort of it, getting the Fast Track and all but we missed one show (Terminator 3D) and a few sites along the way. I think if this was our 2nd trip it would have been better but the first time around there's way too much to see at Universal. But I do have to say it was well worth our time!
3) Foreigners are RUDE. They never look where they're going and are constantly getting in the way. I lost count of the number that ran into me and didn't even acknowledge I was even there. Unbelievable!
On our next trip trip there I plan on spending more time at Universal Studios, renting a car and maybe evening staying on Disney property as well. I have pictures and video coming soon, but for now that's it!
Survivor recap

So after an unprecedented 4 times playing the game (and 2 appearances on the Amazing Race) Boston Rob has finally won Survivor and my thoughts?
Eh.
True, he played the best game. True, he deserved the win, but when someone's had so may chances at it, geez! They'd BETTER WIN!
Do I think the "good guy" won? Hmmm... debatable.
So now what? Well we get Redemption Island again, no surprise there. So who's coming back this time? Colby and Jerri? Or 2 other random people that don't hate each other? I don't see them bringing back anyone from this season so soon but you never know. Phillip and Matt could be coming back for another round. Either way, it should be interesting. And what a fantastic idea to keep ratings up by bringing back fan favorites from now on.
Can't wait till this fall!

What a piece of junk!?

So we bought a Sony Blu Ray player and I DO NOT see what the big deal is with all the hype about these things!
First off, if Sony says it comes "wireless" it's a lie. The only way for it to be used wireless is to purchase their "adapter" which ends up costing you almost as much as the player itself. (Big jip!)
But when we finally watched a movie on it the other night I wasn't exactly blown away by the picture or sound. It was just like watching it on DVD. Another huge disappointment that leads me to believe this is just another hollywood stunt to get us to buy all of our beloved movies all over again on Blu Ray.
They struggle making money at the box office so now this is their new way to increase profit. Well good for you Hollywood.
It wouldn't surprise me to discover George Lucas was behind this whole scam either!
Ok, I'm done ranting....for now.

I guess it's safe to say folks missed me at work. I had a 12 hour day yesterday (one today) and even looks like I'll have 10 hours on Friday.
It's good to be back home. :)
I was able to obtain a labtop yesterday but was too tired to set it up last night. The same may be true tonight after I get off so it may be till the weekend before I get a chance to put it together.
More updates to follow...

Obama Bin Laden

Since EVERYONE's been making a big stink over this lately, I've decided to go ahead and chime in my thoughts.
He's dead. Big whoop. Why weren't we able to find him sooner? My thought is we did we just didn't do anything about it till now.
Why now? Well, why not? Obama's running for re-election and really REALLY needs something to motivate American's into thinking he's done a great job so far.
So he was President when Osama got capped.... yippie. He's also been our President who's dragged us blindly into debt, kept the unemployment rates high and still doesn't have an answer for why gas prices are so high. (just like good ole G.W.)
I hate to say it but when I see news like this now I can't help thinking it's a smoke screen for something else. Bin Laden was a bad dude, no denying that but we have much bigger problems in the US right now than him.
Sharks in the water

Just a quick note here, but what is up with my Red Wings?!? After a dominating first round against the Coyotes we turn into a totally different team against the Sharks, being taken for 2 games straight! Hopefully my boys will turn this thing around or it's back to cheering for the Mets for me.... who beat the Phils last night in 14 innings! (yah, for me!)

I picked on Hannah for not finishing her ice cream from the night before, now I'm waiting to see if she'll finish this time.

Back to the 80's cast clips (1)
Welcome to my "Back to the 80's" cast clips day!
Since my computer's dying it's either upload this stuff somewhere or lose it for good, so I've decided to go ahead and put out what I got.
That, plus I've have cast members reach out to me about some of the footage. So here goes!
I'll be posting this stuff all day long, so check in with us through out the day. I promise I'll have it all posted by today.

While Oz was sleeping
Took this last Sunday as he fell asleep during church. The kids covered him in church flyers like a homeless person. Pretty funny stuff until I showed Megan and she took them all off him...party pooper!
Ok folks, I'm done for today. Come back tomorrow to see a few random videos of the "Back to the 80's" cast if you're interested.
Megan vs the Easter Bunny
Last week we went to the mall for Megan to look for a dress. We ran into the Easter Bunny (or as Megan will tell you "Not the REAL Easter Bunny") in JC Penny.
Thought you'd like to see this encounter.
I'll be posting more random videos later on today.

Ok, I'm not saying this will happen but there is a chance.
My poor computer seems to be on it's last leg and it's getting harder and harder to make post on the blog.
I ordered a labby to replace this trash heap so hopefully it'll come in soon. I'm still going to continue making posts but just in case I all of the sudden stop... you'll know why.

More from Memory Lane

Ok, let's continue what we started yesterday shall we? I found a few more good ones to share...

My Pet Monster. I never had one myself, but I remember this girl in our neighborhood did. The plastic chain could snap on and off. Pretty cool I remember.
What about this lame invention? The Pogo Ball. My parents bought us one and I remember it sucked as a toy. Did anyone else have one of these? Did YOU like it???

Now this one was cool! Roller Racer! You folks have GOT to have owned one of these back in the day right? Loved'em!

I'm cheating on this one. Not exactly a toy but the Snoopy Snow Cone machine always did bring a smile to my face whenever mom brought it out.
Well how'd I do? Any better than yesterday? Let me know!

Throwbacks
Ok, so recently I've been searching online for more 80's memories to bring back to you. I found a few things I want to post and see if it jogs any of your childhood memories as well.

How bout fisher price toys? Ever have any of these? We had a kazillion around the house growing up. In fact, I believe we had the exact toy shown above!

Or what about Glo Worms? You HAVE to remember these things right?

Ok... I KNOW you couldn't have forgotten about the ole Mickey Mouse Talking Phone! Remember? You could dial your favorite character up and hear them say the same thing to you over and over again!

Last one and I'll leave you alone for the day. This is a shot in the dark here, but does anyone outside of my family recall having these? Nerfuls!!! Actually, looking back it was a pretty weak toy but hey... did we really care back then?
Ok folks, I'll hit you up with a few more things tomorrow. Have anything to share about what you saw today? Leave a comment and let me know!

It's only funny until someone gets hurt
This dude captures a truck wreck on camera that almost hit him. The funniest moment about this is when they let you hear the live audio (with bleeps) But listen to how he gives a response to his wife who asks him "Are you ok?"
"YES."
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Hope everyone had a great weekend and is now ready to start a new week!!

Done

So I can successfully say that I never saw a single game of the Final Four this year and I didn't once miss it.
Baseball season started and that's really all I care about now. (except maybe for the Stanley Cup playoffs) This looks like the first of many years I'll go without watching a game.

Am I really doing this again?

I've been debating all week if I should address this issue. When I look at the news I don't see as many "haters" as there were back in the season. Mostly, it's gone unnoticed or laughed away as being a joke. I'm kinda leaning to the latter.
So earlier this week four former Auburn players came out of the woodwork to claim Auburn paid them "bags full of money" to play for them. Well... let's look down the list shall we?
Stanley McClover (2003-2005) Claims he was offered cash money at functions and meetings at Auburn. Unfortunantly for him his high school coach was with him the entire time and says he never saw any of that happen:
"Nothing like that ever happened, I was at every meeting and I'm not sure why he would throw Dillard (the high school) under the bus like that. I was always in the football office when a coach came to the school to recruit and talk to players. They were never there speaking with a player without me being present. How Stanley said it puts doubts in my mind what he is saying is true, No one from our school can confirm what he is saying.I thought the interview would talk about Stanley as a role model, I'm disappointed with how it turned out."
As the late Paul harvey once said, "And now, the rest of the story..."
McClover left Auburn a year early for the NFL and was a wash out. He also claimed he took money from boosters when he was at LSU as well. Let's see, who was the coach back then....AH Nick Saban!!!
Saban denies McClover's claims and I tend to believe ole Nick over an NFL washout.
Troy Reddick (2002-2005) Claims to have been given money as well. Which surprises a few of his teammates. Former teammate Jeremy Ingle is a little shocked. Having known him for 7 years now he's curious as to why Troy never said anything about it until now. Could it have been the $20,000 HBO allegedly gave him for the interview? Hmmm...oh and by the way, Reddick was turned down for the GA assistants program at Auburn last year. but I'm sure there isn't any sour grapes over that right??
Chaz Ramsey. This one you're going to love. Teammate Lee Ziemba was his ROOMMATE all through college and had this to say:
“We were both scratching around for enough money to buy a $5 footlong at Subway, If he were getting thousands of dollars, you’re not going to keep that quiet. I would have heard about it, and he would have been spending so out of control that I would have noticed something.”
Being more heavily recruited by Auburn he found it odd he'd never been offered cash too. That goes the same for BETTER atheletes at Auburn who claimed no money was given to them either, names like Carnel Williams, Ronnie Brown and Jason Campbell to name a few.
Oh and when they and several other former Auburn players heard about the HBO upcoming special, they asked to be interviewed too. But when HBO found their claims would be that they never recieved payment, HBO decided not to interview them for the segment. (sniff, sniff, what's that smell??)
And then there is Raven Gray. Lee Ziemba had another great insight on Raven. Did you know this guy tried to sue Auburn over a back injury and lost?! Not able to get any money from the lawsuit he decided to make some from HBO instead I guess.
Are these four player stars? Nope. Were they in college? Another no. Did ANY of the former players provide names? No. Even HBO admits they have no proof of the statements made on their show.
Do college football players get paid? Yes, it happens at every school including Auburn I'm sure. But these bozo's?! I've got to wonder. It's like someone telling me USC boosters gave money to the back-up punter. Um, who cares.
Thankfully, most reporters out there know a stinker when they see it and the reports I've read go "light" on whether the accusations are true.
And so haters, once again we have to look through the fog of make believe and see the big picture.
Have a good weekend folks!

BIG NEWS!!!

Guess what folks?! I just got offered a promotion from Chase to RUN their Training Department in Juneau, Alaska!!!
This is big!! I was so shocked and surprised when the offer came! Not only is it a beautiful place to live (notice the picture above) but it's also TAX FREE!!! So in essence I'll be making a lot more money up there they I could here.
Sure it gets cold, but I'm sure the adventure of being somewhere new will keep me warm for many years to come.
Speaking of, the longer I stay there the MORE they'll pay! I automatically get a 10% increase in salary every year I decide to stay!
This is the perfect job and something I've been looking forward to for a while now. Like I said, I don't know where I'll be staying to later on this month (gotta go house hunting!!) but I can give you my work address there.
I don't have it on me at the moment, but when I get up to work I'll be sure to include it in the comments.
WOO-HOO!! ALASKA, HERE I COME!!!
