When talking about great basketball movies this one hits the top. I saw it recently and have to confirm this is the best BB movies are going to get.
A respectable second it the story of Pistol Pete. Only relesed in Louisiana theaters (I believe) it's an awesome and inspiring story. I highly recommend it!Any other suggestions? (someone say "Teen Wolf or HSM and I'll kill you)

Ok, I'll give you a few.
1) That Championship Season - not really a basketball movie per se, but it revolves around a basketball team. I was in the play once.
2) Basketball Diaries - once again, more about the characters than the sport of basketball but a great movie nonetheless
3) White Men Can't Jump - Classic
4) Above The Rim, Finding Forrester, Love & Basketball - I clump these together b/c of their "urban" flavor but they are all pretty good.
5) SPACE JAM!!!!!!!!!!
And of course, Slam Dunk Ernest, Juwanna Mann, Like Mike and Baseketball.
I didn't say name every Basketball movie you knew, just name off the good ones.:)
And of course there is always High School Musical. (he he)
