So I did my best and worst Star Wars books, now it's time to do the comic books too I guess.

Instead of calling this the Bottom 5 let's just say these were the most disappointing.

#5 Rogue Squadron


If any lover of Star Wars comics read this post they're going to kill me, but remember this is "most disappointing" comic book series and that being said you have to admit, this one was a bummer. The author PROMISED he would connect his comic book series to his beloved Book series that was out around the same time...and he didn't. I love it when a plan comes together, but I hate it when I realized I've been hosed.

#4 Marvel Comic Series


Yikes, what a disaster! Too many points to be made here, but one that tops everyone's list is Jax, the giant green bunny who befriends Han Solo on many adventures together. Oh yeah, you heard me right. This was back in the day when nobody really cared what the story was about, just only that it was Star Wars.

Oddly enough the Legacy of the Force Book series took a character from this very series and incorporated her as one of the main villains. It makes my stomach churn slightly as I wonder if that now means everything in this series is considered "cannon"

#3 Jabba the Hutt


For some strange reason back in the early days of Dark Horse Star Wars run, they thought it would be a good idea to make a series of books based on Jabba the Hutt and why not? He was an intergalactic gangster! Surely they could come up with a good story line around that?

Short answer: Uh, no. They can't.

#2 Dark Times: Blue Harvest


You wait over 3 years after issue #1 comes out you hope it's going to be worth the wait right? Sadly this wasn't the case. The thing I don't understand was why it took them years to finish this pointless and forgettable story line?! This is the comic book "Pitt" of the Star Wars Universe. (only comic nerds will get that joke, sorry)


1# Union


Luke Skywalker get married! What a great story right?? Well grab a pillow because you'll be bored the whole time through this series. Let me save you the time and sum it up for you. Han and Luke get into a bar fight at the bachelor's party, a pro-imperial tries to bust the wedding up, Luke and Mara get married.

You can thank me now. I just saved you an hour easily right there.

My new role

So Megan has asked me to help out with her dance class's Christmas recital titled "Winter Wonderland" and who am I set to play? Yep, you guessed it, the Grinch. Not just that but Jim Carey's Grinch.

Should be fun. Speaking of fun, I hope each one of you had exactly just that this weekend. C-ya!

It was this day back in 1993 that my favorite card and comic book shop of all time closed down. In honor of it demise I set out to draw a 13 issue comic book series... that has now turned into over 900 issues and counting. (amazing)

So today we remember the folks who started it all and tomorrow it's more comic strips coming to the blog.

Weekend post may not be an average thing going forward anymore. I'll try whenever I have something worth posting but we've already surpassed the most post in one year for this blog, it's incredible how many people check it on a daily basis. I never knew how popular this would be and it's all thanks to you folks, so I thank you for it!

A World Series to Remember

Just like the Giants did it in 2010 the Cardinals made an amazing run with having the worst record for a team in the post season. They overcame amazing odds and like the Giants are now sitting atop the baseball world as champions.

So the real question is what happens from here? Do the Cardinals lose their all-star first basemen? I highly doubt it at this point.

And what of the Rangers?? I don't think anyone would argue they'll be in the playoffs again next year, maybe even another amazing trip to the WS. But what trades and free agents do they plan on getting in the off season?

WHat about the Mets? Well, ok they'll still be terrible but at least I can dream of a 3rd place finish in the East right?

So now baseball is over and I'm bummed. College football hasn't had much of my attention all year so it'll be weird fitting it back into my routine. Maybe I'll watch more NHL this year?

Either way it's been an exciting year of baseball and I can't wait till next year!

Also this past weekend we got to see the Rangers win the ALCS and advance to the World Series. A truly incredible thing!
