How to spot a fool on April Fools Day

1. Anyone who dresses like this.... is an idiot.

2. Doubt everyone. Don't believe their stories look at them with a straight face and say "Yeah, right. April Fools to you too."

3. If the prank involves more than a story (exa: they did something to your room, car, house) than pretend you didn't notice. Nothing drives a "secret" prankster more upset when you never talk about their prank to others.

I once had someone come into my apartment and take all the light switch plates off them. What did I do? Replaced them and never said a word to anyone. The next day I discovered the culprit because he kept asking me questions about anything interesting happening to me that day.

Follow these rules and you'll be safe and sound for the holiday.

I've seen some wacky speed limits in my time. In Arizona and Nevada did you know there are actually places where the speed limit in 100mph? It's true! I've seen the signs!

I remember another place in Florida where the speed limit was 7. Speed limits in general need to go on and get raised by at least 5 mph across the board. I think someone should put that on their agenda when running for President. They make actually win on that stance alone! A lot of speed limit laws are just too slow!

My Megan Update

Since lots of you ask about Megan and she never has time to post on the blog, let me give you a quick update to what she's been up to.

As you all know this is her last semester at ULM. Things are going well and even though her schedule is super busy right now it'll be all worth it when she graduates this May.

I remember my last semester I would have punched a kitten in the face to graduate I was so ready to get out! And when you finally do you're so happy for a few years... then you start to think about "the good ole days" right?

Back when you didn't have to wake up early every morning. You're schedule didn't have you going to work Mon-Fri. And then you start to think back on all the "fun" you had back in college.

Well not me.

I'm still happy to be out. And anytime I think back to those "good ole days" I always remind myself of how much I hated working on papers, taking test and sitting in boring classes. VIVA LA 9 TO 5!!

Best ways to wake up

Face it. There's just no good way to wake up in the morning is there? I've tried it all. Any chime, rings, clang or "pleasant" sound starts to annoy you pretty quick when you're waking up to it everyday.

I once bought a CD radio and had it play my favorite song every morning to wake me up. Guess what? After a week I was ready to throw that CD in the garbage!

But here are some pretty good ideas when it comes to alarm clocks. What do you think?

Why I don't like pets

1) They become your responsibility whether you want them or not.

Eventually, the person wanting the pet in the first place is going to have you start doing things for it while they're away or busy. Then you feel responsible too and have to start caring for it even though you never wanted it in the first place. (My Mom taught me that)

2) If not trained previously to being owned, they're trouble.

Making a mess of the household tearing things up. I don't have anything against Dogs mind you... just pets. I'll train my child to be potty trained because I would love them. I'd kick a puppy if he tore up my Star Wars book.

3) They're expensive.

Taking them to the vet, buying them food, toys, leashes, kennels and other things of that nature can really add up. That's why I think having pets is more like having a hobby. You'll set aside spending money for a hobby. Baseball cards, comic books, and whatever else. Pets are just the same.

Alice in Wonderland Review

Megan and I saw the new Alice in Wonderland last night and though the story was interesting I got tired of seeing the excessive CG. This is something hollywood keeps falling into as a pitfall. Add too much CG and it just doesn't seem real anymore.

I remember when Jurassic Park came out. I was amazed at how real it looked. Since that time however movies either have just enough CG in to make it seem real or go way overboard in the process.

Alice in Wonderland is one of those examples.

Survivor Update

So here we are 1/4 of the way through with the season and it's time once again to give my thoughts on it so far.

I love Survivor and even though it's frustrating to watch at times, it's still my #1 favorite show.

The Good- Boston Rob vs Russell has got to be the best showdown I've ever seen. They have me starving to see who will come out on top and my guess is that whoever it is they will be the last guy standing in the end. I still don't think a guy will win but one could make it to the final and it would be one of those two to do it.

The Bad- My Hero Colby has fallen from grace in my eyes. No longer is he the hero that he once was. Trying to play the game with "honor" than getting upset that nobody else wants to play by his rules is foolish. The same for Tom as well. Both of these guys got far in their own seasons because their team was on top. Their tribe always won. There was hardly any need for back stabbing and by the time the tribes merged they already had their alliance iron clad. Tom's voted off, and Colby is one of the most stubborn people on his tribe. It's sad to see my hero fall.

The Ugly- Everyone on the "Hero" tribe. What'd I tell you about James? When he's winning he's lovable... when he's losing he whines. I thought Stephanie was the reason they kept losing? Oh wait, he left the team 3 weeks ago. Keeping James around with a bum leg was a disastrous move.

Amanda's a slime ball but no one remembers that, Rupert's the biggest idiot and hopefully now America sees it too. Candice STILL has no clue how to play the game. And JT has lost his mind flip flopping like that. How did he forget the secret to winning so quickly? It's like he's playing this game for the first time?!?

All the rest- My pic, Sandra, is still in it but I don't know if she can make it to the merge. She's crafty and cutthroat though so I still believe she can make it. Parvati is the biggest threat of all. I can guarantee she'll make it to the end with someone. How after 3 seasons they STILL don't see her as a threat is beyond me!

Aubtie Mame Review

A second show I got to see this weekend was Autie Mame performed at the Main Stage. With a bigger cast than I've seen in a long time it's sprinkled with talented members who play multiple roles.

The set looked amazing and though the story was hard to follow at times, still was enjoyable. Kudos to the the "new kid" who played "Ito" in the play. I thought he'd done this before but from what I hear it was his first time. If that was the case then "Well done sir" Fan favorites like Cejay Gueaxtrou and Troy Wold were fantastic as well.

Cyrano De-Bergerac Review

So this past week I got to see the Young Stage put on their performance of Cyrano De-Bergerac and it was wonderful! I've never seen a group so young take on a play and make it look THAT professional. Luke Matherne and his Brother Alex are among the stars in this all-star cast.

I really was shocked at how well they pulled this play off. I encourage everyone who hasn't seen it and lives around here, to go see it before it's too late. A wonderful show!

Megan was in a Variety Show and performed the Thriller dance which she taught to her "dance crew" It was a big hit. It was too big to upload all at once so I had to break in down into 3 parts.

After the Saints won the Super Bowl (and I mean right after) I rushed Megan to "Academy Sports" so she could get a Saints Super Bowl T-Shirt.

Ladies and Gentlemen have you heard the news? Ole Miss University got rid of their fabulous mascot a few years back. Well now it's time to vote on a new mascot.... and guess who's in the lead?

Admiral Ackbar from the Star Wars movies. No folks, I'm not making this up. It makes sense though, he did fight for the Rebels right? One student was quoted as saying "If we can't have a colonel why not upgrade to an Admiral!"

I won't lie, if Ole Miss pulls this one off I'm "Go Rebs" for the rest of my life. I'll even buy shirt and cap along with it. Wow.

Is it over?

I used to be an Olympics fan. Used to watch them all the time. But these past few years I've been on and off'em. They're not really catching my attention like they used to.

Maybe one of those reasons is you have to watch this with a group of people to enjoy it. I remember being real sad when it was all over. Like having to leave a really fun party that what turning in for the night.

I don't know, just my thoughts about it.

Wilkins: The Movie (part 2!!)

Sanriogirl hits the stands!

Just a little Cardco Comix update; I just started handing Megan her very own comic book series! The first one was given to her a few weeks ago. This was the cover.

As many of you know (and have a few issues yourselves!) Sanrioman was a character I had around for a very long time. It's only fitting that Megan be given a super hero name similar to mine!

You'll also note I ripped off the cover art to Legally Blonde as well.

Very few of you knew this but the first issue of Sanrioman was me doing a pose from "Highlander" Yep.... I'm a dork!

Front Runners

So now that the Saints are Super Bowl Champions expect everyone to start coming out of the woodwork proclaiming their faithfulness to the Saints.

It happens all the time.

Megan's been a fan for years. She had a jersey before we had even met. A few other good friends have also struggled through the years and have finally gotten the big payoff.

Now watch out for the bandwagon. ESPN for starters. I team that I constantly saw on TV and heard on the Radio every day for the past 2 weeks is about to change their tune.

Nobody at ESPN could get over Manning. But now those very same analyst will be singing a new tune come this morning. Watch and see. Everyone wants to associate themselves to a winner.

Let's go back into the 90's. Remember when you thought the whole world loved the Bulls, the Braves and the Cowboys? So... where are all those fans today?

Oh right! They're Lakers, Yankees and Patriots fans! (well that last one will change) People love to hang with a winner. That's just the way it goes.

So when you see those people wearing their fresh-out-the-box Saints merchandise yelling "Who Dat?" at you. Just smile, nod and remember that they'll be wearing a different team on their chest in only a matter of years.

I'm glad the NFL season is over. Now we can get on with SURVIVOR!!!!

Congratulations go to the New Orleans Saints. Who bested the odds and despite ESPN's constant support of Peyton Manning, did the unthinkable and won it all.

I'm not a Saints fan but I'm happy to see the home team win.

Super Someday

What day is it again?

Did you folks know that I not only could I care less for the Super Bowl but also that I have yet to sit and watch an entire game? (1 quarter has been my record)

Nope. I'm a college football, basketball and MLB fan. Got no love for the NFL. So when it comes right down to it, I don't really care who wins. I just go to the parties for the food!

With the Saints in it will I watch it more? Eh, maybe. But I don't even care for the commercials. Most of which are extremely overrated or can easily be accessed over and over again on YouTube the VERY NEXT DAY!

So enjoy your Super Bowl everyone... I'm just waiting for March Madness to come around.

TV Show suggestions?

I forgot about one more show that just premiered this past week. Damages (on FX) Is in it's 3rd season and though you couldn't tell much by just looking at it here, this is an INCREDIBLE show. And it's season opener??? UNBELIEVABLE!!

Already beats all 5 episodes I've seen so far of 24!

But seriously, it's time to take a few suggestions from my friends of a few other shows I should pick up and start watching.
