Another week

Ok. I'm done with "As You Like It" so finally my week nights should be getting back to normal very soon.

I wasn't able to get a recording of my performance like I wanted. So no video posts of that play. Sorry. I tried.

Doesn't matter much anyway because I was hardly in it in the first place to make a difference.

Oh well. I have a new comic strip this week which should run for the next month or so. I think it's really funny and if you don't enjoy it as well.... then don't bother checking my blog again till September.

Thanks for all the e-mails these past few weeks. I promise I'll get around to answering each one ASAP now that my nights aren't tied up.

Did you know that if you toss a penny 10,000 up in the air that it will not be head 5000 times but only 4950? That's because of the weight distribution on the coin. The head weighs more and that makes it more likely to fall on the bottom making tails the most common victor!

I wonder how they found that out though. Please don't tell me government research and money was wasted on this fact. And 10,000 times?! I bet it was a couple of bored college students, what do you think?

As You Like It

Well this weekend we started our new play "As You Like It" to a warm welcome by audiences. Thanks to all of you who came to see it and for the rest who haven't yet, we're performing it again at the park for 2 nights next week so you're most welcome indeed to show up!

I hope to get some video footage of the play for next weeks posts. It's been a long weekend (of course) and I'm in a constant state of "worn out". Maybe I can get to bed by 8 tonight? (I'm getting old!)

Time for another Monday Morning Me today!

Well, it's been a rough weekend. I'm so tired I don't think I'll ever catch up on sleep! We had our final performances of Beauty and the Beast this weekend and they all went well. "As You Like It" starts this weekend so all of our practices from here on out will be.... long. 6 am came very quickly to me this morning and I am so very tired from this weekend I want to go back to bed and sleep another 7 hours!

Oh well.

Hope everyone elses weekend went well. We start comic strips back once again tomorrow!

FFF what?

Time to explain again what the FFF stands for. It means "Friday's Fun Fact" I've been doing this so long that I keep forgetting we have many new readers everyday who don't have a clue of what I'm talking about so I thought I'd explain it once more.

Today's FFF is about the man above. Mark Twain. Yeah, yeah, he wrote a few famous books but you wanna know something real interesting? He was born in the year 1835. When Haley's Comet came into view. Then died in 1910... when Haley's Comet came back around. Wild huh?

Hope everyone has a great weelend. It's the last call for Beauty and the Beast and I'll be donning the Cogsworth outfit for the final time! Woo-Hoo!

My A/C is back on so everything is good in the world once again! I'm getting ready for the encore presentation of Beauty and the Beast this week. Then for the next two weeks I'll be performing Shakespear's "As you like it" And in July I've been asked to take part in "High School Musical" over at the Rose theater in Ruston. I'm also told that I'll be in "Footloose" as well this September. (maybe I should start charging for these appearances, what do you think?

I'll do a poll tomorrow to decide!

I'm burning up in here! It's been an inferno all weekend at my house. They said they couldn't fix the A/C till later on today. I can't tell you how many pounds I've sweated off in the meantime!

So we've talked a little about laughter in this weeks strip but did you know laughter is actually good for you? Besides increases your mood it's also been proven to relieve stress hormones in the body as well as lower blood pressure.

Laughter's also a good way increasing the vascular blood flow throughout you body. In fact, some scientists estimate that laughing 100 times is equivalent to a 10-minute workout on a rowing machine, or to 15 minutes on a stationary exercise bike. Laughing exercises the diaphragm, as well as the abdominal, respiratory, facial, leg, and back muscles!

Monday Me

What a weekend! I hope yours went well. I spent mine visiting friends in Branson, MO this weekend and had an awesome time! Now it's back to work, push-push, shove-shove!
I'm glad you all liked the videos from last week. I'm planning on bringing a few more on the site this week before going back to the comic strips. Don't worry. This is only a temporary thing. I have some great comics coming up soon that I know you're all going to like!

And yes, it was my birthday last week. I never mentioned it because it really isn't as big a deal to me as it is other people. The only thing I ever do for my birthday every year is eat over at my mom and dad's, open presents, then go home for bed. The end. Poof! That's it.

But thank you for the hundreds of belated wishes and phone calls over the weeknd. They were much appreciated. Kudos to Kelly for being the only person to wish me "happy b-day" on the actual day of. (Oh, and Hollie... you ARE a terrible friend, but I'll keep you around all the same)

FFF frenzy!

Wow, what a week. I still carry a cough but the rest of my sickness is about done. This has probably been the 2nd worse I've ever been in my life. I'll just be glad when I finally kick the coughing to the side and I am 100% well again!

Now as for our FFF....

After my $5 bill FFF ya'll started e-mailing more questions to me about money. I didn't really answer any e-mails this week because I was sick but it changed my mind for today's FFF. Ok, a lot of you asked about the $1000 bill. Who was on it? Why president Cleveland of course. Do they still make them? No.





Those (as well as the $500 bills) are no longer in circulation. Yeah you could find one on ebay still I imagine but not at a bank. I'm not sure when they stopped making them but I believe it was around the mid 1946 and circulation for them ceased after 1969





So how big a bill did they actually make? Well Andrew Jackson actually graced the cover of a $10,000 bill once. Mainly used as a "gold certificate" but still it's pretty cool. They stopped making those in 1934.

Down with the sickness

Can you believe I STILL can't beat this cold thing?! I've been up since 2 a.m. trying to get some sleep but I can hardly breathe!! Work was slow and neverending. It's even bothersome to talk to people I feel so miserable right now.

I'll see about posting the videos this week but right now I really don't feel up to it!

Do you know where the term “The whole nine yards” comes from? Back during WWII when arming a fighter with .50 caliber ammo belts, the belt would measure exactly 27 feet long. So when the pilots fired at their target they went “the whole nine yards” and emptied their fuselage.

And you just thought it was a movie with Bruce Willis! Shame, shame!

PS- My heart goes out to little Mikie. Who got his face busted up while getting mugged this week. I feel so bad that I laughed uncontrollably when seeing the pictures. What can I say? His pain amuses me!

Whew, what a week! My car's been acting up. Seems a clamp isn't tight on my battery and I need to have the whole thing replaced this week. Shouldn't cost that much and I'm glad that was all that was wrong with it but still.

Being without my car is like being without clothes! I feel out of place. Stranded. Hopefully I'll only have to part with it for a day. But that's a day I can't live without. I hate bumming rides off people. But that's just me I guess.

I'm tempted to let it go as is for the moment. Just for a day! But I would be running a risk if I did. My "quick fix it" technique I used to keep it on shouldn't last more then a few days if at all. So I'd really be pushing it if I did it that way.

And why doesn't someone open up a 24/7 mechanic's shop. Imagine that. Having your car worked on overnight by people and being able to pick it up bright and early on your way to work the next day! I'd diffidently pay more that kind of service!

Ok folks, one last run of "Play Time" and I'll be done with the series. I've got some great ideas ready after that which I think you'll all like. Oh and don't worry. I haven't forgotten about the videos I promised. I should have them ready to go by next week. So be prepared.

FFF show me the money!

I showed this one to my employees this past week and was slightly suprised no one had realized it before. Get out a magnifying glass and a 5 dollar bill. Did you know that every state in the US is printed on the back? Look all across the top of that building and you'll see what I'm talking about. Pretty neat huh?

Encore!

Guess who’s coming back this June? Yep, that’s right folks! Just when you think it was all over the drag me back into the tights again! I can’t believe it. One good thing about this is my brother Jordan will get to see me in it and know that I am the “end all, be all” of theater. (heh heh)

Folks I won’t lie, it’s been a rough week but I’m ready to start a new one. Very soon I should have some videos up of the play due to a slight injury I haven’t felt up to cutting the film but will get back on the horse next week. I promise.

By the way, you people just want to see the clips of me dressed up in a clock suit right?

I'm sick

Sorry about all the delays lately, but I've been bad sick since yesterday with that cold/flu thing that's been going around and just haven't had the effort to post on the blog.

I'm getting better today I think. Nothing but aches and pains kept me up last night but I've taken a slight nap now and feel a little better. Hopefully I'll be 100% by tomorrow.

But that's no excuse to skip over this weeks FFF now, is it?

So let's talk about cars. Or better yet manufacturers. Did you know that the first Ford cars had Dodge engines in them? Or that Chrysler built the B-52's that bombed Japan and Mitsubishi built the "Zero's" that tried to shoot them down. By the way they're now owned by the same company if that's not weird huh?!

Nominated!

After a weekend of sold out perfomances the show has finally come to an end. Which means life will be back to normal at last for me! But look what I got in the mail this weekend? A letter from the theater saying I had been nominated in their awards show! However, if you'll read the entire letter I believe it was for "Best Supporting Actor" and NOT what they put down. Just read it and you'll see what I mean.

April's over already?

Hi folks!

Can you believe we've reached the end of another month so fast?! Starting next week I should have some video clips of the play available. You've been sending so many e-mails about it, that I had someone come in yesterday and tape the performance so you'll get to see a little bit of what you missed.

Anyway, that's all for now. I'm off to work!

Sorry but I think we’re going to postpone our weekly FFF this week to show you a few more pics from the play. Our first live show went off well last night and I’m really excited about tonight!
Above you see how beautiful our set looks as Maurice makes his way into the castle. And of course in the nest picture is yours truly pitching “woo” to women the only way he knows how…. As a dork.
You know they actually have me wearing eye-liner now for my scenes? Oh, an now I’m told only baby oil can take this stuff off?!?

Ever wonder why zippers always have the letters "YKK" on them?

Well the reason for that is back in 1934, Yoshida Kogyo Kabushililaisha was founded. Sixty years later they changed their name to YKK Co. The privately owned firm, is headquartered in Japan, and has 80 companies in 52 countries working for them around the world.

Now can you guess what they provide a majority of the world with? Yep, zippers.

Picture Preview

Well let's start things off with the photo shoot we did for the cast. There's me, smiling like a goofball for the camera. Black shirt and all.... yep.... this is exciting.

I'll tell you what though. Seriously, this play is a lot of fun to do. I really didn't think I'd be enjoying it this much but it's become somthing I look forward to doing everyday when I get off work. It's mainly the people that make it so fun in the first place.

Now will I do it again after this play is over, I don't know. I guess it all depends. I don't have any free time at all anymore to hang out with my friends since we're basically working every night for 4 hours straight. But I guess that's the price you have to pay when people are paying $18 a pop to see you perform.

Oh yeah. The other picture is of us praticing "Be Our Guest" in the studio. That's me of course holding a ridiculous "Cogsworth" pose while the cast dances behind me. (and to the side is "chip")

So now that summer is right around the corner it’s time for a little fun fact about “brain freezes”

On a hot day when you eat a snow cone, the cold crushed ice that touches the top of your mouth initiates a nerve reaction that swells blood vessels in your head. The nerve center on the roof of your mouth overreacts to the cold temperature of the snow cone and tries to heat your brain. This swelling of blood vessels is what causes an ice cream headache, or what is more commonly known as "brain freeze".

Just in time...

You're not going to believe this one folks. Guess who now has a lead role as Cogsworth in the play now?

After having our Lumiere drop out (he wasn't very good anyway) our fellow playing Cogsworth got bumped up to the position. So while they were calling around town for an actor to play Cogsworth, I read his lines in the meantime.

When the question was popped on me I was shocked. Here's a guy who's never been in on stage before (a play at our church 7 years ago doesn't count) who even didn't go to the auditions in the first place! And now.... he's Cogsworth?!

So now I'm spending every free moment of my time trying to memorize the entire script before the curtain goes up in two weeks. Oh yeah.... this is going to be a fun.
