For the first time in years a new Star Wars book has come out that I didn't buy the moment it was released.
I thought this would be a lot harder to avoid but so far it's easy. The new TV show comes out next month and comics as early as April/May but I have no desire to see them either.
This is what a recovering addict feels like. Empowered and free.
I could get used to this.

The canon is off to a good start. After a long hiatus of any EU novels (aside from Kenobi), I enjoyed it. A pretty self contained story, though, which is what I'd expect more of from now on. There were a couple nods to EU stuff, and "legends" in particular. One thing that I was a bit disappointed in was the fact that they missed an opportunity to get rid of the awful terms for things like "caf". I always hated that tropey sci-fi writing. But overall, I was relieved I didn't immediately hate it like I did so much of the EU. And
Depa Billaba is no longer a crazy person.
Ha ha ha ha. Look at us! Now I'm the one telling YOU the EU sucks and you're the one defending it.
My how the tables have turned. : )
