Sorry for the delayed post but it's been a busy day!
I'll break it down in halves for you:
First half- Neither team could get anything going and their was no score at half time.
Second half: The Adults strike first with a QB keeper up the middle for 30 yards. 6-0
The Youth get lucky as the ref accidently blows his whistle which causes confusion and allows a Youth receiver to be wide open on a TD. The Adults argue that the play is dead because a whistle is blown shortly after the snap, but the TD is allowed anyway making it 6-6
The Adults storm back with a beautiful 20 yard pass and are up 12-6
No field goals were allowed this year due to the last minute change in fields due to a Duck Dynasty Xmas special going on in town the same day at Forsythe Park. It hurt both teams because going for the extra point is rarely successful in a game.
When the Adults kickoff thy pin the Youth well behind their 20 and after a great play by the defense we had them inside the 10. On the next play....a safety! Only the 3rd ever in the history of the Santa Bowl!
After that the Youth's spirits are crushed and they go down 14-6. The exact same score we beat them the last time we won in 2010. How wild is that?
Coincidentally, Auburn also won their last National Championship that year too, Hmmmm... sounds like Destiny to me, don't you think?
Now after 2 long years the Santa Cup is back home where it belongs and all is right in the world once again!
War Eagle!
