Hunt Brothers Pizza (review)

 

Finally got to try the pizza my nephews tell me is their 2nd favorite pizza ever!

I haven't had it in over 20 years but finally got a chance to try it out. 

Not bad. To be honest...it was very good and I will get it again. I was really shocked because pizza that comes out of a gas station usually isn't something to scream about, but with them it is. 

Honestly, it's cheaper and WAY better than anything you can get at Little Caesars, so from now on, I'll probably be buying it for the family going forward.

TI4 Game #7

 My nephew killed everyone 10 to 2 (all other players scored 2) due to a little rule change he's known about for year but never revealed until it benefitted him. Once it did, he challenged the rule and since the rules don't state that you "CAN NOT" do the action, it is viable that the action would be legal. 

Hence, with a rule change that went heavily in his favor, the power swung immensely his way and he had the game locked after the 2nd round and I knew it. 

I informed all the players that the game would only go 3 more rounds and that I would continue to teach them the game within those final rounds. (the rest of the players were new)

My nephew decried my prediction, yet in 5 rounds....the game was over. 

He won't be getting away with such a sneaky rule ever again. I'll make sure of it next time. He knows it too, he was just waiting on the time to punch that ticket. Hope it was worth it. I'm going against him for the rest of the year because of it. 

Pretty dirty to take advantage of new players like that, but the choice was his to make. 

Marshmallow (review)

 A boy who dreams of drowning is sent to a summer camp after the death of his grandfather. But during his time at camp the kids are attacked my a mysterious man in a hazmat suit....and the counselors knew about this threat the entire time. 

This movie looks great, has an interesting premise....and falls completely apart in the end. It's supposed to be a twist you're supposed to go nut over but instead you find yourself asking the question "Why?, "What's the point?" and "Where's the payoff?"

Terrible second half that freezes the character development of everyone involved and leaves you caring about nothing in the end. 

Hard. Pass.  

Burger King Wild Wild West Sunglasses

 It was the coolest thing I ever got from Burger King. I remember wearing these non-stop when I got a pair. They lasted well over a year....until I sat on them by accident getting into the car. 

Just like those sunglasses....I was crushed. 

They don't make free cheap made-in-Taiwan shades anymore.  

TI4 Game Review

 In our 6th game of 2025 it was another one of "firsts for how it ended. On a vote. 

The 3 contenders left in the end were myself and my nephew with 8 and my youngest nephew with 9. BUT he had Mecatol Rex and got first pick at the cards, which meant he could claim 8 and on his turn, win the game. 

Everyone wanted to go ahead and call the game but I told everyone we needed to vote first. 

The first vote was a nothing burger, most people passed but in a 1-1 tie, the Speaker appointed and winner and drew the next law to vote on. 

It was a victory point. 

My youngest nephew had been gloating the entire time of his impending victory, so it didn't matter to him if they gave me the point because I would only be at 9 when he claimed the final point in the next round. 

That's when I turned to the group and asked if anyone would give me Support to the Throne (worth 1 vp) and elect me to receive the point that was up to vote. Thereby giving me 10 before the last round even started. 

It worked. 

I was at 9 and got elected to receive  10 BUT my sneaky nephew had an action card which allowed him to elect himself instead. He played it and retained his victory. 

I've never had that much excitement during the Political phase. Incredibly game. 

Looking forward to at least 2 more while I'm on vacation. 

The most I've played this game in a shingle year is 10. Pretty sure (if things go well over vacation) that I can at least tie that number by the end of the year. 

Pee Wee as Himself (review)

 Just watched this after I'd heard some good things and yes, it's worth your time. Especially if you watched the show as a kid. 

I didn't. Actual...I hated the show in the 80s. I thought it was so stupid. The movies I enjoyed however. 

Anyway, this was filmed months before his death. He never told them he was dying either and he never finished this interviews. Informative and a different look at the man Paul Reubens like you haven't seen him before. 

Dear electric bike Uber Eats drivers

 You piss me off. 

Get off the road.

Why do you think it's a good idea to be driving on the road? Just because your stupid bike has an engine the size of my left nut doesn't mean it's road worthy. You're jamming traffic and being a nuisance. 

If you want to make extra money on the side with Uber, then invest in a road certified automobile to get you around. 

I'd wing you with my door but the damage to my car wouldn't be worth it. 

But if I ever win the lottery....I'm coming for you....doors out. 

You've been warned. 

TI4 Gameplay update

 On the beach with my nephews and we just wrapped up a game with the fan expansion Discordant Stars. While my nephews had great abilities with their species (some a little too powerful in my opinion) I was dealt a bogus race that got to vote last on agenda's and skip on tech symbol each time they researched.

Lame. The Hero's ability was even worse in that you discard him to gain ONE tech upgrade that another player has. (so.....just like the Necro Virus but limited to a once in the game ability) 

Really terrible race. 

Good news is, this game also carried a lot of "firsts" for me. 

One was that I got War Sun technology for the first time since I've bought the fourth edition of the game! I didn't use it, but at least I had it thanks to my pathetic "Hero" action.

I also got to play "Kingmaker" in the final round when it came down to 2 people for the win (not me) I gave it to one of my nephews with the promise of "Support to the Throne" in a future game when my race had no chance of winning. 

I don't mind losing with a pathetic race, since it's a random draw, in fact, I WANT the worst races in this expansion to see if I can find any path to victory. But when other races have the following abilities:

1) Discard an action card to ready any planet

2) Explore every planet (at least twice, sometimes more) in the game

You really don't stand a chance. Those 2 races had the led the entire game. I was second with 6 points and I was pulling out all the stops. I owned just about all the galaxy and the only way to defeat me in the Agenda Phase was for everyone else to pull together all their planets (which totaled 48 to my 47 influence points) to stop me. 

Oh, and by far that was the most planets I've ever captured in a game and I'm thinking it's got to be some type of record. Unprecedented.  But remember, I was in SECOND (or third at the end) the entire second half of the game. 

There was just no stopping those overpowered races. 

But I'm glad I got to see a few more factions from the expansion in action. You can read these abilities but it doesn't give you the full perspective of what they can do until you see them in play. 

Anyway, next game is scheduled for tomorrow, so I may give another update later this week.

Diet (Phase 2)

 

For the past few months I've been trying out the periodic fasting diet. The one where you only eat from Noon-7pm (or 6:30pm for me) and that's it. 

I don't go crazy either. Not many deserts, just the occasional soda and even those (with the exception of Pibb Extra) are zero sugar. 

But....no difference. Even some nights I hardly ate at all AND I've been adding cardio every evening at the gym as well. 

Am I done? I'm not sure to be honest. The plan was to stay on this until vacation (which officially starts tomorrow) but I'm so used to eating on the clock that I may keep it anyway. I'm not gaining weight either, which is a plus. 

But other than that, I think this diet is another dud.

Until Dawn (review)

 The whole time watching this I thought "this sounds just like a video game story" only to find out after the credits that it was, indeed, based on a video game. 

And that's about it. The plot is paced the same way as you'd see in a video game. I bet it's very close to the source material too because I felt like everything was copied from another person's story, even down to the monster designs. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the scenes were taken directly from the movie. 

Not bad...but certainly not good. Passable at best. 

And on that note....it's a PASS for me. 

Fish Filet (review)

 Had a free sandwich thru my app and was told to try this out. 

Not bad. I don't even know when the last time I've had this. I never order it, even when I used to go to Mickey D's on my own back in the day. 

The fish was crispy, but it's still not anything special. Maybe next time I take the kids I'll get it again, if I get the reward points built up for it again. Other than that, it's not worth taking a special trip over there to get it. 

Bed position

 I used to be a side sleeper but within the past few months, the only way I'm falling asleep these days in on my back. I can't get comfortable any other way. 

Even on my stomach I used to sleep all the time, so it's weird that I've suddenly switch to my back and that it's the only way I sleep. 

I didn't know sleep positions changed over time. Is it just me? Or have you changed your position as well over the years? 

McDonald's Blueberry Pie (review)

 I love blueberry....so when I heard about this (and my kids are always wanted McD's) I decided to get it next time we went. 

Not bad. Crispy outside but something I won't be getting again but it's as pointless as the rest of the food there. But I'll probably try something else next time I go. There's got to be something on this menu worth getting. 

Twilight Imperium (It's good to be KING)

 Yesterday another battle was fought, another victory gained and another "first" made. 

This one was pretty easy. For the first time ever, I got Mecatol Rex and stayed on it the entire time. I got the 8 strategy card and rode to victory each round, gaining a steady 2 points per round until the 6th (which is when these games usually end) 

Everyone was too busy achieving secret missions and other goals to fool with me sitting on Rex. I usually give it up soon after I conquer it to the next person who comes along in the manner of a skilled retreat. (I'm a coward when it comes to fighting) But after 2 more rounds when I realized no one was coming after me, I fortified Rex and sat on it the entire time to win the game. A strategy, I've never won by before today!

Either way, it was a great game and I hear my nephews (and others) are asking for a rematch soon, so I may be playing a few more games before the summer's through. 

How long I'll continue to stay on top is the real question. I'll be honest, even in this game, someone started roaring up the track and might have caught up with me if we'd played one more round. 

What a game.

Beef (review)

 Heard some good things about this show so I thought I'd give it a try. 

Not bad. A story about how a road rage incident turned into a revenge war between two people who didn't like where they were in life but oddly got satisfaction after getting one over on their opponent. 

Strong start but the ending got a too dark (in general, not the revenge plots) and took the series in a different direction which I felt, didn't mesh with the overall tone of the series. 

In the end, sadly, I can't recommend it. Good idea, they just couldn't stick the landing. 

MAKING the time

 

Another thing I've worked on myself over the past few years and clarifying my language to be more truthful. 

Whenever we don't get around to doing certain things, the cliche thing to say is "I didn't have the time" But the fact is...you did, you just didn't care to spend it doing that thing. 

So instead, I say "I didn't MAKE the time" which is the truth. Now, if I take the time to get something done, I know I made it. But saying "I didn't have the time" is a phrase I'm fading out of my dialogue.

Walking the talk

 I'm trying to do better at times when I tell someone "we should hang out sometime" or "We need to catch up sometime, I'll call you!" but never do. 

I hate that a lot of us say that but never follow up. So whenever I'm the one making the statement, I make sure to follow through. 

Recently, received a text from an old friend and told him I'd call him. Even with the best intentions, I didn't call until 3 weeks later. 

Another friend and I talked about having lunch and it took a month for me to finally get around to asking him. I felt bad about it. 

Now once I send an invite and he declines, I'm off the hook as far as I'm concerned. But if they follow up, I'll surely reschedule. Same with phone calls. 

It's just something I'm trying to change in my life to make me a better person and not someone who says he'll do something and doesn't.

Peking (review)

 Took me a while, but I finally checked off the last place on my list of restaurants I haven't been to in decades. 

This was a super popular buffet back in the day which has now been reduced to one abandoned looking location that I at first thought was closed just looking at it. 

But when I saw customers walk out, I saw they were open. 

No crowd....never a good sign. 

To be honest, the food isn't bad. Regular fair really. The eggrolls weren't crisp and the egg drop soup was sad but everything else was pretty standard to what you'd see in these type of buffets. 

Would I go back? No. It wasn't special enough for me. But at least I tried it and knocked it off my list of places to visit.  

Sinners (review)

After so many recommendations I finally got the chance to watch this movie. 

Very good. Artistic and fun at the same time. Mid-credits scene put it over the top for me. My nephew even said it was the best vampire movie he's ever seen. And I have to agree, it's up there. Very well done. Original story about vampires. 

Worth your time for sure.

Podnahs (review)

 Forgot to upload this review when I went last month but long story short - 

I haven't been to this place in a couple of decades and have been wanting to try it out again. First off, the people were great. Really nice and even got the chicken leg for free when I told them I hadn't been in a while. 

The meat is excellent, the beans....just as perfect as I remember but that BBQ sauce is OFF THE CHAIN!!! I couldn't believe how much I loved it. 

Excellent. Will go again some day soon. 

Predator: Killer of Killers

 Finally got a chance to see this after hearing so many people talk about it. 

Not a bad movie. Little far fetched in the end. But the whole time I was watching these short stories take place I kept thinking (Gee, I wish they'd gone ahead and made a live action movie about this instead)

I'd love to see a full movie about Vikings or Samurai, taking on a Predator. But this is all we got. 

I have no idea why they're so huge in this film. Maybe an art choice? Overall, worth seeing once but I don't think I'd ever watch it again. 

It doesn't get me excited about the upcoming movie this fall at all. Don't know if that's what the point was or not, but I'm hoping the live action film will be better than this.  

Ghost Lemonade Iced Tea

 Got a chance to try the latest and greatest flavor from Ghost energy last week. Surprisingly good!

I thought it was going to end up being another mediocre tea inspired flavor I see from all energy drink brands eventually. And they've all sucked...but this one. Actually carbonated and full of flavor! Not the best in the lineup but certainly not the worst. In fact, I'll get it again later this summer for sure!

Coming this fall...

 Wrote a sequel to my vampire dinner theatre we did last year. 

Varney and his wives, go to Hawaii to celebrate his eldest wife's "Death Day" only to have tragedy strike and someone killed.

Yes, this is a homage to the original Beetlejuice sequel that was going to go by a similar name before being rebranded as "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice" (excellent name by the way)

I wrote it shortly after our cast party where we joked about what a sequel to the first show would look like. At the time, I had no intention of writing the show, but as time went on (and I was bored) I eventually starting working on a script I was happy with and pitched it to the crew. 

They loved it and were all in. So if everything goes according to plan, I'll be putting back in my fangs for the sequel this fall.

TI4 game overview

 What a game!

In the last round I went against my nature and defended Mecatol Rex for the first time ever. I never like fighting (I'm a coward) and usually retreat. Ceding the planet over to the invader, but my spider-sense was tingling and something told me I had to stay. 

This guy had me outnumbered and had all the cards to take me down, but somehow I ended up defending the planet and saving myself from defeat (as he had a card that would have let him win the game immediately afterwards) 

Without control of the planet, I through the board into chaos. Snatching someone's empty home planet as a distractor, while all the while knowing I was scoring 2 points regardless of whether I could hold on to it for the end of the round or not. 

With the chaos abroad I scored a secret objective and struck fast before the others could figure out what I was doing. 

Since I was down and needed 3 points to score, I also successfully got someone's "Support for the Throne" which got me the extra point I needed to win the game. (we'd been kind and helpful to each other the whole game, so I successfully convinced him to trade support for one another)

Another incredible game for what still remains #1 on my list of best boardgames ever!

Happy 4th!

 One of my least favorite holidays of the year, yet if I can somehow pull off a board game day for it, it'll be a good day. 

Truth is, with so many other parties going on, I've never been able to have anyone over, so today will probably be a complete waste. 

If you think I'm going out into the mosquito infested heat, you're sadly mistaken. 

If you're having a bad day, just know....mine is worse.

Thunder Road: Spotter's Tower promo (mini-review)

 Another Dice Tower promo to a game I love. 

I've been playing a lot of this game lately and the upgrade cards have been a recent favorite of mine. So of course I'm always happy to add one more promo to the deck. 

Just like the other cards in the game, you add the special ability to one of your cars while playing. This one isn't anything too powerful but it IS different than the other cards in the deck, so I'm happy to add it into my collection. 

Foundations of Rome Dice Tower Promo (mini-review)

 One of my favorite games, so of course when I realized there was a promo for it, I didn't own, I had to make it mine. This is a mini-add on to the "Roads to Fortune" expansion that came out during the last kickstarter. Not much, but it'll through another few new selections at the end of each round, which was good enough for me!

Clown in a Cornfield (review)

 You get what you expect when you watch such a stupid movie with such a stupid name. 

Good gravy, this was worse that I thought it'd be...and I was expecting bad. 

Razor thin plot, which you guess the entire movie within the first 30 minutes. The only way it would've been interesting is if they would have juked away from the obvious "twist" they were planning at the end. Which (as I said) you could see a mile away. 

An incredible waste of time....except whenever you heard the clown's squeaky shoes when he walked away from the kill....that was ok. 

The Amateur (Review)

 Great trailer. 

Boring movie. 

Watch the trailer. Get the just of what it's all about. The movie has nothing clever in it. Just a good premise that really doesn't go beyond the basic concept. 

Glad I watched this one on my own and not with my nephew and his friends. Wouldn't want to waste anyone else's time on this one.

Cheech and Chong's Last Movie

 Disguised as a "Movie" in advertisements, this is actually a documentary about the two, their friendship and how they rose in popularity in the 70s. 

I remember renting their movies in college back in the day. This was an enjoyable documentary to watch. It had a lot of things, I'd never known about the two, where they came from and what was going on behind the scenes throughout all their movies.  

Worth seeing if you were a fan of the films, passable if you weren't. 

Juvee

 

Looked good so I thought I'd give it a try. 

Bleh. Very bleh. Don't judge a drink by its cover I suppose. 

Oh well, I'll try anything once. Now I can move on. 

Not that I'm looking for a new kind of drink, I just enjoy trying something new from time to time. 

Not many options whenever I go into the same gas stations/stores every time. But it surely hasn't been worth it going to these odd and ends stores for variety. 

Last year to be in the club

 I'm done with Sam's Club after my membership runs out. I just realized I hardly buy anything there anymore. We never get groceries here and it's simply now worth the money just to go every so often to get little to nothing. 

I used to buy wipes and diapers here but even that has dried up since the babies have been potty training and will be off of diapers completely by the end of the year. So what's the point in going anymore? The gas isn't even the cheapest in town. 

I doubt my wife will even realize we don't have a membership until months later since she never goes anymore either. So yeah, just another thing I don't have any use for anymore. 

Done with Summer festivals

 Earlier this month I went to the Peach Festival in Ruston, as we always do. 

I think I'm done going to these. 

There's nothing of interest for me there. My wife likes to look around for a few hours, buy some trinket we'll lose before the year's end, buy an overly expensive meal or drink you could get for half the price right outside the festival and go home. 

Meanwhile, I'm out there in the sun, burning up with nothing but wasted time to show for it. Not worth it in the end. I'd rather just stay at home and get chores done around the house instead. 

Catfish Charlie's

 It's been over a decade since I've visited this local catfish place. 

Catfish is ok, but never my "go-to" when thinking about placing I wanted to go out to eat at. But I remember liking them, so I was interested to see if this would hold up to my expectations after all those years. 

It did. 

Again, I'm not the guy to say "Let's go get catfish" but if I did, this would be the place I'd choose hands down.

Best Pork sammich...in the world.

 Cormiers here in Monroe has the "Pig Sandwhich" 

It is the best thing in the world. 

I used to get this back in the day, hadn't had it in years until a few weeks ago. 

Excellent. Well worth your time. 

The. Best. 

"Big Trouble" One of the best children's albums in existence.

 

I used to listen to this album when I was younger. I've recently been playing it again for my children and it's pretty awesome to listen to as an adult. 

"When I was a dinosaur" kicks off the album and it's just great. In fact, all the songs on the album are winners. 

My kids favorite is "Big Trouble" about a boy who knows he's getting a beating when his parents return and has a tall tale of monsters coming over who destroyed his home. 

But there's many other songs to make you laugh. "The Cat Came Back" is a tale of a lady trying to get rid of her cat. And despite all her attempts (even killing it) it comes back. 

"I think I'll need a band-aid" is the rally call for my children. Who's mother gives them a band-aid even when it's not needed. We go through a box a week easily. The chorus to this one will have you humming it in reptation all day. 

"What I want is a proper cup of coffee" is a tongue twister that's so fun to listen to, you'll go back and play the song over before moving to the next song. I swear one day I'll get it. 

"The Window" is my brother's favorite song on the album, as the duo sings nursery rhymes that  ends with something (or someone) being thrown out the window. Hilarious. You'll quickly find yourself singing other nursey rhymes to throw out the window after the song it over. 

"Pica de Gallo" was my #1 song for the longest (until recently) It's THE BEST! A song so catchy you'll find yourself singing it at work days later. 

"Nobody" is a song about a kids imaginary friend called "Nobody" it's the sadest, yet most hilarious song I've ever heard. If I ever heard one of my kids singing it, I'd be worried though. 

"We are the Dinosaurs"  "Day Care Blues" and "Teddy's Bears Picnic" are the only songs on the album I'd skip. They neither funny or catchy.  In fact, it's odd that such a witty duo dropped the ball by adding these songs to pad time for the album. Without them, this album's a perfect 10. No question. 

But the finest, heart warming song you'll ever hear is their finale "Lullaby" which is a masterpiece. About a parent putting there child to bed. It's soothing and heartfelt. I absolutely adore it. My favorite song on the entire album. Beautiful. 

Win or Lose (review)

I love baseball so I decided to give this one shot series a try. 

Not bad. Brilliant in fact, at times. It captures what it was like being on a little league baseball team back in my day. It's also a combination of stories about the same event, which is fun. Pieces start to come together over the series that makes sense. 

This has the works of being a perfect 10 for me, but it misses in a few areas. Still, I enjoyed it way better than a lot of their recent movies so I can recommend you checking it out if you're interested. Funny moments, heart felt moments and overall....worth my time. 
 

RC Zero Sugar

 Never knew this existed until I found it out Brookshires a few weeks ago. It even rung up as "unsellable item" but I was able to scan a 12 pack of Dr Pepper instead and shove it in my bag. 

It taste just like the real thing! I was a little surprised by that. I'd get it again if it weren't for the fact it hasn't been at a Brookshires since (I've checked 3 different stores) But I'm sure I'll come across it again in the future. 

Sprite + Tea

 How interesting. 

Coke combined two of their products together into one. I like it. 

I still think "Winterberry" is the best Sprite, but this one isn't bad at all. I wonder what interm of Coke mixed the two in a glass one day and convinced the company they had to try it out on the open market. 

Kudos to them either way. Nice idea!

Dr Pepper Cherry

 This is the flavor that Dr Pepper says "We want to taste more like Pibb" and that's a good thing. 

It's almost better than their "Darkberry" flavor that came out years before. It's the closest they've ever come to tasting like Pibb. I still love Pibb more but this one is one of the better flavors Dr Pepper has ever had. 

7Up Tropical

 

Finally got to try the summer flavor for 7Up this year. 

Pretty run of the mill of what I've seen Sprite do in the past. Of course the 7Up version tastes better than theirs but I think I still prefer the regular flavor over this one. 

It isn't bad, just nothing special. 

Wick is Pain (review)

 I love these movies. So when a documentary about the making of the first four came out, I had to check it out. 

Not bad. Half of the time is spent on the making of the first one and how it almost didn't come to be. Very interesting stuff. I don't want to ruin too much, but the director and Reeves admit, the way they come up with movie ideas is they list all the action scenes they'd love to see and then string them together into a movie.

They also talk about how many more ideas they had but never tried, which means they'll be plenty of action scenes for John Wick 5. 

I can't wait...

GoIden Corral

 Haven't been since it opened almost 10/11 years ago. 

Went. 

Hmmm...

The squash was good. The bathroom was a disaster and I'm pretty sure I saw an employee come out of there without washing his hands.

So yeah. I'm good for the rest of my life. 

Ew.

Neighborhood Movie (review)

 Watched this last month. Not bad. A young man suffering a mental illness enlist the help of a retired body guard who lives alone to track a woman he saw kidnapped in an ally. 

It's got some humor and wasn't bad but definitely could've been better. Still, if you have nothing else to watch one night, it's not that bad a movie to occupy your  time.

Warfare (review)

 A movie based on a true story during the war in the middle east that happened in 2006. No story, not really any characters, but mainly an incredible looking reenactment. No comedic moments, no "love" story, just a great representations of the remembered facts of this mission. 

Not bad. 

If you're not into military movies, skip. But if you like them, this one is worth your time. 

Death of a Unicorn (review)

 

Terrible. 

Watch the trailer, get everything you need. 

They never bothered trying to explain what the point of the movie was about or how they could solve their issue. They had scenes where the girl is trying to explain what's going on and what they should do....but she tells them NOTHING. 

These unicorns are also very strong...except with faced against a small wooden door or gate. Concrete? Yep, the bowl right through that. But normal wooden doors? Nah. That's an issue. 

Nothing about this movie made any sense. Kill off small characters violently...but when it's a highly paid supporting actor, the unicorns take their time with the kill.....because....yeah. 

Horrible waste of time. 

Drop (review)

 

Wow. What garbage is this?

This lady is on a date, where she begins to receive "drops" to her cell phone from someone unknown. How this process works is loosely defined and something not even my nephews had ever heard of. 

In fact, this movie is already out of date on premise alone. But I digress. 

She is shown on her home video there is a man with a gun at her house where her sister is babysitting her son during the date and she must do exactly as this mysterious person says or they will die. 

Hot garbage. 

Totally unbelievable characters the whole way through. Everyone acts weird and we're supposed to accept these are everyday people, yet none of them do anything realistic in such a situation as this. 

In the end, she exposes the enemy and while he makes the call to kill her son with his dying breath, she's able to drive back home (though down town Chicago) in 3 minutes to stop the killer in her home as well. 

Boneheaded ending for a boneheaded movie. SUCH A PASS! I'm shocked this movie even made it past the development phase. 

Video store still kicking

 West Monroe is home to one of the few remaining video stores left in America. It's located right behind where I live...and I never go there. 

This is for people who have no streaming service but love watching movies. I don't get it. I walked in a while back expecting hard to find series and movies you can't find on streaming services. 

Instead I found an outdated system where new movies cost just as much to rent as they would online and nothing rare that you couldn't find on streaming. 

How this place is still in business is a miracle.
