Still not feeling it

Well, Rebels has been going o for almost a month now and I still don't know a thing about it. The Expanded Universe was the main reason I was a fan of the Franchise and now that it's gone I can use that time for other hobbies now.

Missing Episode 7 will be easy.

Well, if you haven't even tried it, how can you know you won't like it? This is seriously THE single most Star Wars-y thing to come out in quite a while. It's very true to the spirit of Star Wars, no not the EU, the Films, and more specifically the original trilogy. You're doing yourself a big disservice, I think, by refusing them outright. Even prequel haters at least saw the prequels.

I equivocate it to this. I love baseball and this year's World Series is turning out to be one of the best but some baseball fans aren't interested in watching because their team isn't playing.

Does this mean they're not true fans of the game? No, it only means they won't watch unless their team is in.

That's why I'll tell them how great a series it is if they ask, but also understand their position on if they'll watch it or not.

I love the EU most about Star Wars. If they come out with more of it, I'll enjoy it. If not, I'm perfectly content spending my time doing something else that interests me. I do love the franchise, but only the one grew up with. Not the new one with hidden Mickey's in it. : )

Actually Matt, I would argue that if they aren't interested in watching the World Series, just because their team isn't in it, they aren't true fans of the game. A true fan of baseball should want to watch baseball when it's one, particularly the playoffs/WS. Which is why I think Stephen's point holds and your analogy doesn't. Just my two cents. I'm obviously nowhere near as big a SW fan as either of you.

Stephen, I know you don't know me, but I haven't seen any SW Rebels - where is it on? And it is possible to catch up? I would love to watch it with my sons.

Lol you just called half the sports nation "fakes" : )

Well, you're putting words in my mouth. I wouldn't say fakes, just not true fans. There is some middle ground there between people who actually love baseball and casual sports fans who only enjoy watching their team. More lazy than fake if we have to label it. They only want to watch what they want to watch like you with SW and the EU. Not judging, you brought up the analogy. As I said, yall know much more about SW than i do. Just a casual fan here. But I will be at Ep 7 with bells on.

Rebels is on the Disney XD channel on Monday nights. I'm pretty sure they replay it a lot throughout the week as well. They aren't that far into the series. So it is entirely possible to catch up quickly. Just the few episodes that have been released have been really good fun, I think little kids will dig it.

Oh, there are also some preview shorts featuring a few individual characters that you can find on the Star Wars youtube channel. Here is the first one "Machine in the Ghost". The others are "Art Attack", "Property of Ezra Bridger", and "Entaglement"

Thank you! I didn't have the shorts, but I did find the episodes On Demand (Comcast). My boys loved it!
