Bye bye Blockbuster

As Blockbuster shutters more of it's stores this year Monroe (for the first time since I know) is now without a Blockbuster rental store.

Amazing.

There are only a couple hundred left open and those will soon be closing after this year as well as it's owner. Dish Network plans to completely pull the plug on this failed franchise in 2014.

Incredible how this company went from being the nation's greatest video store to being unknown to the next generation, thanks to Redbox and Netflix.

Wild because Blockbuster could've crushed both of those companies back in the day if they'd only had the intelligence to lead them but now it's too little too late.

Blockbuster refused to believe in the popularity of streaming videos and lower prices. In the recent year our Blockbuster finally went down on their prices for video rentals....too bad they were 5 years late on that idea.

They've become the grand example of what terrible leadership can do to a #1 company.

So long Blockbuster, I won't miss you that much when you're gone and neither will anyone else.
