Unlocked

So it's finally happened, the greedy owners and the greedy players came to a selfish decision to split the pie for another 10 years. Rats! I was really hoping this thing would last a lot longer than it did.

But as predicted, it wasn't going to last past July. What really makes me sick is the fact that this will in no way affect the popularity of the game as it has for other sports.

Baseball suffered a complete knockout when the struck in '94 and haven't recovered since. Hockey was already low on popularity but when the strike hit it a few years ago even ESPN lost interest in them, by dumping the rights to play games on their station. This coming from the same channel that shows Major League Soccer, the World Poker Series and Championship Bowling. (ouch!)

But does it hurt football? Not a chance. These commentators are going to shy away from any negative reporting on what just went down. They got their favorite toy back and now are just content to sit and play and forget how disgusting this whole thing was.

Too bad we didn't have the same sentiment back in '94
