Clone Wars Season.... (Yawn!)

So I watched the season five premiere of Clone Wars and even though I love me some Star Wars they really should let this series die.

Mainly because the Clone Wars only lasted 2 years, TWO YEARS! Even if this series were the only stories about the Clone Wars it would be enough, but after several books and comics about it, it's hard to believe all this happened within the stretch of 2 years. AND the fact that Ashoka (Anakin's apprentice) isn't even mentioned in the first few books (because her character didn't exists back then) it's hard to believe she made it around that long.

She's not in Episode 3, so she has to die sometime right?! Sadly I doubt Lucas has the nads to pull this off.

Sure they start with an eye-popping season opener with (ugh!) Darth Maul laughably back from the dead by a story obviously ripped off from the Star Wars Infinities comic, bur the pitiful truth is you'll have to wade through 20 "filler" episodes before you see them again. (A strategy they've been using since season 3)

This clearly represents another fact that Lucas cares ZERO for the fans.

I hear there's a new book coming out soon that will chronicle the clone wars in the exact order as things happened. I'm extremely interested in seeing that because I have a feeling it won't look pretty if they REALLY do what they say.

Until then I suppose I'll shift through the mindless garbage they feed us on Saturday mornings now and dream of the inevitable end of this atrocious series.

If you didn't understand any of my ramblings just now please excuse this post as nothing but a nerdy Star Wars fan geeking out his rage on a mediocre product. : )

Sing-a-long night

So one of the first things Megan wanted to do at Dragon Con was attend a screening of Dr Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog and Buffy's "Once More With Feeling" I have to admit I didn't know what to expect at first but after going I have to admit it was worth it. SO MUCH FUN.

As you can see in the videos people were singing, laughing, making joke and comments and generally having a great time. Extremely fun to attend and with a packed house late at night. If you ever go, this should be on your list for sure!

Ok! Now that the comic strip's finished up, I'm going to take all next week to talk about Dragon Con, so look forward to several more videos and pics throughout next week. (maybe even into the next) So much to show and speak about!!

C-ya soon!

RDA

First thing I want to talk about when it comes to our Dragon Con trip was meeting Richard Dean Anderson. When it came to getting his autograph I had to get the MacGuyver pic for him to sign! Classic RDA!!

Look at that mullet, the blue jean jacket.... this is how I wanted to look when I grew up. Sadly... I'll never look this cool.

I also posted a video of him coming out and greeting everyone in his first Q&A which was fun to be a part of. If you'll notice on the picture it says "Go Kings!" He took back the autograph from me when he heard I was a Red Wings fan and scribbled that on at the end. Funny guy. We talked hockey in the short time I met him and when I brought up being a Red Wings fan he said, "Please don't cuss in front of me."

This all happened on my first day at Dragon Con and it definitely made it BDE. (Best Day Ever) C'mon folks! Who doesn't want to meet RDA?!

Sad news

I'm sure a lot of you have heard McDonalds is saving their beloved McRibs for the holidays instead of October.

I was angry initially upon hearing the news, even thought of boycotting them when they DO come out but now I'm thankful. December is such a busy  month for me I'll hardly eat that many now. This saves me money and calories.

Who knows? Over time it may even stop my addiction....but I doubt it.

Bumper Cars Board Game Review

Wild that this is my 100th video post on YouTube. Kinda anti-climatic. Should have done a better job at counting. Honestly I thought I'd posted many more than that?!

Dragon Con review

Look at how cool the inside to one of the host hotels looked!!

I had a great time at Dragon Con and can't wait to start posting pictures and videos soon!

So would I go back? Sure, but maybe in another couple years and next time I'd get a hotel downtown. Getting one far away sucked.

It's business as usual for me now....or at least till I go to Fan Days in Dallas!

Have a good week everyone!

Stargate review

So I'm watching the Stargate series and really enjoying it and I think I know why.
Continuity.
I love it.
I love it in my Star Wars books and I LOVE it in this series! Every episode builds upon the next. I’m not saying it’s a “to be continued” at the end of it, but side characters (villains) get introduced in episodes and aren’t used till later (sometimes 4 seasons!) Any world they visit can come back into the storyline at any moment and like all good TV show’s there’s an overall story arc to consider as well!
So far, it’s a well done show and I look forward to seeing how it ends, though with it’s 2 spin offs that’s 18 seasons!! But to me, it’s worth it!
Have a good weekend folks!
