There Goes the Neighborhood (3)

Tuesday, May 25, 2010

Now that's how you end a TV Series!!

So I sat down and watched the final hours of Jack's life go by.

After watching the first hour I threw so many punches into the air I looked like a boxer.... by the end of the show I wanted to punch a charging lion in the face!

Now it's time to sit back and wait for the movie..... it's going to be incredible.

Ok, ok! Comic strip's back tomorrow! I promise! Just can't get away from all these series finales!

Murderous Crossing (final weekend)

Since someone already stole my thunder and posted this on Facebook, I may as well let everyone else see it here as well.

Called it again!

I'm getting good at predicting TV Show's aren't I? 2 for 2 by my count so far!

For those of you who saw it you know what I mean here. They didn't explain a dad-burn thing about the island. What is was, why is was so special and what the purpose for it being there is.

I love it. I went in knowing this is what would happen and I got it right! Of course... was anyone surprised after watching the first episode this season? Does anyone feel cheated? That they wasted 6 years watching a show that never gave you answers? Or do you feel it was all worth it and will go around trying to get a "Lost" party together within the next year?

Your thoughts?

So until then, have a great weekend and I'll see you all next week!

Theatre Review by Megan

This is the new play at the Strauss Theatre that goes through the weekend of May 13-16 and May 20-23.

There have been lots of opinions on this play, but that's just it...opinions. Some think it's great and some are appalled and offended by it. So, I thought I'd share my thoughts.

This production, directed by Jon Baccarini, is a fantastic work of art. Sure it may be a little risqué for some parts, but the humor makes up for it all. It is no different from what is on TV these days. Actually, it may be a little better than what's on TV. It breaks down all types of relationships as to why men and women think and act differently. The cast includes Elizabeth Bennett, Wendy Ryland, Steve Barton, and Charles Prigden.

When the script was given out, Jon took it and made it more subtle. It's not an easy play to present, especially in this area, but I think Jon and the cast did a fantastic job. Who cares if the old people don't like it. They don't like the modernization of things anyway. Jon did his best with what he was given and it turned out to be one of my favorite shows. You will always have those that hate it and those that love it and not everyone will always be happy.

So, Congratulations Jon on another great show!! Everyone should go see it if you get the chance. And words of advice...stick through the second half....it gets better.

Survivor Finale

Who called it? And you all read it right here on the blog before the first episode even aired!!! I stick to everything I said from the beginning, she was a threat that everyone forgot about because she didn't play All-Stars and when she made it to the merge you saw her go all...the... way!

Seems like the only time I know what's going to happen is when they bring the cast members back. I guessed Amber on All-Stars and now Sandra joins the very short list of Survivor picks I've made on day 1.
Now to say a few words about the the rest of the cast, starting with me my man Colby. Yes, he played a pathetic game. Week after week Megan saw me bemoan the fall of a true Hero. He couldn't win (not even when it counted) and even though he was the last "Hero" left standing it wasn't because he had anything to do with it.

But watching last night and hearing what Jeff had to say really shed some light on a few things. After playing the game 3 times Parvati STILL trails Colby in overall immunity challenges won. And get this... Colby was voted out before the merge in All-Stars. So that means he is STILL the reigning champ when it comes to challenges. Yes, that was a decade ago but it still make me somewhat happy for the guy.

Russell, like I said one of the most dominating players in the game. Love him or hate him he is the best at playing this game. But wasn't Boston Rob insightful when he said "Russell doesn't play to win, he only plays to get to the end" It's so true. Still, looking at the season overall, he still made some of the most brilliant moves of the game.
I hate this woman. More than I've ever hated Jerri. I never thought I'd see the day where Jerri would NOT be my #1 most hated Survivor. Now I even think she's not even in the top 3 since I hate Cirie and Amanda even more. Heck, throw Stephanie and Sugar in there and I doubt Jerri even makes it into my top 5! Guess Heroes vs Villians was a good thing for her.

PMT commercial coming out tomorrow (I promise!!)
