What I'm reading...

Amazing how this month's just flown by hasn't it? Ok, well today I want to give an update on what I've been reading as well.
I love me some sci-fi. That's no secret. But did you know I'm a big fan of the Dune series as well? Sure enough!

Frank Herbert (the original author) passed away some years ago, but his son Brian has been teaming up with my favorite author in the world; Kevin J Anderson and have added to this sci-fi classic!

The books are all very interesting and after reading their latest one I have to say it'd be worth someone's time to read thru them all.

The newer ones written have to deal with the past or what happened "in-between" Frank Herberts series. I think they not only add to the experience but are so well written you'll be surprised at how fast you make it thru a book!

This is why I'm hot...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVpyI6eWvwQ&feature=player_embedded

This is why I hate USC. Last night, with the game all wrapped up USC head coach Pete Carroll calls a pass play that gives them another touchdown for a 28-7 win.

There was absolutely NO reason to call this play other than rub it into the other teams face. And as you can see in this video, that's exactly what USC does.

The part that gets me hot is Stanford ran up the score on them last week and USC cried and moaned about how unsportsmanlike it was.

Then they turn around and do the exact same thing to UCLA four fold.

Now do you see why I can't stand this team?

I don't believe it

So we went to the final ULM football game tonight, where they were giving away prizes... and guess who won the grand prize?

Here's Megan celebrating a free semester of college next year. Yes, it was a good day indeed for the both of us.

Funny thing was when we got to the game she asked me what I would do if she won. "Take you to Olive Garden" I said.... so guess where we went after the game?

Pretty amazing hearing her name over the PA. I'll have to get her to tell you all about some time in a later post.

That's all for now!

What I'm watching

Happy Black Friday everyone. I hope you're staying safe indoors today and not out there tackling the crazed retail world.

Today I thought it'd be nice to talk about some of the shows I've been watching on TV this season. Here we go....

Sunday nights on Showtime.

Honestly one of the best shows I've been watching in the past few years. The story is about Dexter, a guy who works as a blood splatter analyst for the Miami Police Dept. But what you don't know is.... he's also a serial killer, who kills.... serial killers!

The show's in it's fourth season and it gets better every season! One of my favs for sure!
Monday nights on NBC.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. What was once an excellent show has since slowed down to almost a dead halt this season. If it wasn't for the rumor that NBC won't be keeping this show after next season, I'd be very tempted to give up on them.

This year's been slow moving and sort of pointless. (how many times can you save the world from impending doom?) But I'll weather the storm this year in honor of all the truly good story lines it's had in the past.
Thursday nights on CBS.

Of course this is my all-time favorite show to watch. You all know that. But this season has been incredible! I man named Russel has found the immunity idol TWICE without clues and once more with everyone following him around the whole time!! Amazing!!!

I'm hooked this season and will be tuned in to the very end to see who comes out on top this season. Really, this is a show worth investing your time in for next season..... trust me.
Friday nights on Cartoon Network.

The first season had it's slow moments. This second season? UNBELIEVABLE!!! I can't believe how great this show's been so far. I've been intensely tuned in every night to this show. Yes, I'm a Star Wars fan and yes, it's a given I'd love it. But to their credit the show's really starting to pick up this season and pique my curiosity for the weeks following.

Well what do you think? Agree with me? Watch other shows you think are better? Let me hear it! I'm all ears!!

But if anyone comments about how Smallville is good and I should start back watching it, I'll delete your post.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Once again it's time for my favorite Holiday of the season!

No hassle of searching for gifts, no "downers" after the holiday is over (because x-mas is right around the corner) and all you do is sit, eat good food and celebrate. What a holiday!
I want to wish you all the very best this Thanksgiving and hope yours will be just as good as mine!

Give thanks.

Starting tomorrow I'll start talking about another favorite board game of mine "Conquest of the Empire"
