Got to see this in theaters earlier this year when it came out and realized I never gave it a review.
Shockingly....it wasn't that bad. The original movie along with the remake of Dawn of the Dead in 2002, brought back zombies to hollywood. Of course later the Walking Dead series would push it to new heights. But now the zombie phase has mainly passed and this movie has decided to take a turn in a different direction to how zombies work.
I actually enjoyed the direction the movie went. It had some solid acting, fun scenes (and a few violent scenes too of course) But overall, it wasn't that bad for being the first movie I saw in theaters in 2026.
Will it be in my Top 5 at the end of the year? Maybe. Who knows? As disappointing as movies are for me these days, the chance is certainly there.
