Dang the month just flew bye!

I almost forgot to do this post for next month. But there isn't much to talk about I'm afraid.

Annabelle is the "prequel" to the Conjuring but to be honest, I've already seen Child's Play and this doesn't look any better than that so it looks like it's going to be another month of staying at home instead of going to the theaters.

(sigh) What's happened to Hollywood these days?

On our way back from Atlanta we stopped by my Grandmother's old town of Gadsden AL, at a place she used to take us to as kids.

Noccalula Falls is where I wanted to visit during her funeral last month but there wasn't enough time so Megan and I stopped by and explored it for ourselves.

Dragon Con 2014 (23)

 Wanted to talk about my favorite part of Dragon Con, which was meeting all my favorite authors. Here's myself with Kevin J Anderson, my favorite author of them all. He's holding up the new book I bought there, which is a sequel to his Saga of the Seven Suns series.

He also told me his new Dune book will be out next year "Navigators of Dune" I'm looking forward to it!

 Michael Stackpole is now my 2nd favorite author. Sitting in his Writing Workshops that week was very helpful and insightful. He's a smart guy who's genuine and it was a pleasure getting to know him.

The biggest surprise of the week was Dave Wolverton was there!!! I'm so bummed I didn't have my copy of his book to autograph but at least I was able to snap a picture with him.

Not getting his book autographed is my biggest regret though. I don't know when I'll see him again.

My next show

I have a small role in Strauss' next play (thanks to my agent Megan, who made me do it) I'll be playing Dwayne, the person who is Dolly Parton's husband in the show. It's short and small and just the way I like it. But the show should be good even with only 10 minutes of me in it.

If you have the hankering, come by and see it sometime. It opens next week!

Survivor Blood vs Water 2

Watched the preview last week and have to say, I'm happy they went with the decision to involve all new cast members instead of bringing old ones back. With season 30 coming up next I guess they didn't want back to back returning players for each season.

Who will win? Who knows?! I'm just glad it's on again this week. I can't wait!

The only autograph I got but forgot to film about was Ralph Macchio (the Karate Kid) The autograph is awesome though.

My one and only use of the mic a bought for the trip. I thought I'd time to do interviews with the authors but this year Dragon Con had over 100,000 attendees and the buildings were packed wall to wall with folks. NO ONE had free time to talk this year.

Kinda bummed out about it, but I did get to have short talks with each author for a moment so it wasn't a complete loss. I don't think I'll ever go back. The lines and people were just too much!

I can see these stars and authors at other, less crowded, venues for half the price.

PS- There were A MILLION people dressed as Deadpool this year. Definitely an overused costumed idea for 2014.

Dragon Con Review (1)

Dragon Con was a lot of fun this year. As always there were amazing costumes all around the hotels. Here's an example of one.

Hi Folks!

Before I start posting them on YouTube I thought I'd give you an exclusive first look at my Dragon Con panel from last week.

I'll be releasing the videos and pics from my Dragon Con trip over the next couple of weeks.

Fun stories to tell and things to show you.

And so it begins...

For the first time in years a new Star Wars book has come out that I didn't buy the moment it was released.

I thought this would be a lot harder to avoid but so far it's easy. The new TV show comes out next month and comics as early as April/May but I have no desire to see them either.

This is what a recovering addict feels like. Empowered and free.

I could get used to this.

Another addition

Still not done collecting the EU it seems. This time it's a few Spanish comic books that were indeed canon back in the day since they mentioned other invents that happened in the English version.

So I got the pages translated and added both the Ewoks and Droids comic books to my collection. Both were a collection of short stories and weren't much but I'm glad I bot them.

What's next? Who knows, but I'm excited to find out.
