Items BANNED from this House (5)

Kinetic Sand, play dough, slime, etc. ALL BANNED. In less then an hour I'm picking it out of the carpet. My wife will buy them some every now and then and the moment they leave it out, I chuck it.

Absolute worst!!

Ok, I'm done griping like an old man. Tis the season though right?

Have a good weekend folks!

Items BANNED from this House (4)

My girls will have someone this Christmas, give them a make up kit. It's happened every year for the past 3 years. And each year, I wait until we gather up all the gifts. Move these to the side and silently throw them away with the boxes and wrapping paper.

Last year Megan found them in the garbage can and rescued them and wisely hid them from me for almost 6 months until I saw them and got rid of them the moment no one was home.

Why? Nail polish STILL in the carpet and it will never come out.

I'm prepared this year to throw more kits away.

Items BANNED from this House (3)

Anything candy that is in powder form. Why? It ALWAYS ends up all over the kitchen and carpet. And since my wife never cleans it up properly, it quickly turns into a sticky spot on the floor. They walk in with them and when they put them up (for later) I make sure to usher them out swiftly into the garbage.

Items BANNED from this House (2)

Stickers. Why? I'm always having to peel them off the walls and carpet...EVERY TIME. Whenever they get stickers from school or an event, I throw them away the moment the girls aren't looking. Sometimes their mother will pick up a pack of them and hasn't figured out who keeps taking them....and throwing them in the trash.

When they reach the age of 16 I may think about lifting this ban. But for now, it's in full effect.

Items BANNED from this House (1)

This week I'd like to discuss the various items that I banned from entering my house. The reason why and the penalty incurred upon violation of the rules.

The first is markers. My wife keeps buying them, I keep throwing them away immediately on site. Why? For the answer, all you have to do is look at our walls, doors and furniture. Yet my wife still believes that one day they'll stop. Like giving a serial killer another chance and saying "This time, they promised they wouldn't kill anybody"

I hate markers.

Black Friday Blues

The deals aren't what they used to be, but I'll be on the look out for another laptop after breaking this one and having it slowly fall apart in less than a year after I bought it.

Major bummer. But hopefully I can find a suitable replacement. If not, I'll soldier on until I find a good deal on another. It's only a matter of time.

As for the other "deals" out there....piss.

Have a good weekend folks!

Week of giving thanks (3)

Obviously my family is another thing I'm thankful for. Not just immediate but Mom and Dad, who've always supported me and my siblings who I'm still close with today.

I'm very fortunate, at my age, to still have both my parents living. I'm grateful for that and know it won't be forever. So I'll continue to cherish every holiday I get to spend with them.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone!

Week of giving thanks (2)

In late August  my job of 16 years was eliminated from the company. My boss never bothers fighting for me either and it looked like I was going to be unemployed in one of the worst job markets in recent history.

Thankfully that didn't happen. My home site here in Monroe, picked me up and created a position to keep me. I'm very grateful for their faith and trust in me. I appreciate their support when my division didn't give me any.

I hope this is my home for another 16 years (or more) Overall, I'm thankful to retain a job that supports my family.

Week of giving thanks (1)

Welcome to my week of giving thanks! Thanksgiving, being my favorite holiday I'd like to take the time this week to be thankful for everything I have.

Today it's my friends. Rusty, John, Mikey and I have had a group chat since July 4th where we talk about topics from this blog an other stuff. I love it. They're great.

Of course I have many other friends I'm thankful for as well. Bruce and Wes from POTU podcast, my long distance friends and even one or two new ones I've made this year.

All of these people make my life more enjoyable to be in and I'm thankful for each one!

Ghost: Sour Strips

At long last I was able to track down one of the flavors of Ghost I've been looking for all year! One of the local supplement stores had it in stock!

I bought an entire case because I couldn't purchase it individually.

Overall? Not bad. Not the best either. It's ok. Taste just like the candy, as I'd expect with Ghost flavors. After finishing this case however, I probably won't get it again. One, it's too hard to find and Two, I like a few other flavors better.

Either way, glad I've finally marked it off my list.

Have a good weekend folks!

Subway's Thanksgiving Feast Sub

Who knew that Subway had their very own version of a Thanksgiving sub? I sure didn't!

But when Megan made me go get her Subway one night because there was too much food at the house to make something on our own, I stumbled up on this gem.

Mind you, Subway is the poor version of Firehouse, yet the charge the exact same prices. However, the sandwich wasn't bad at all. I actually enjoyed it. Not near as good as the one I tried at Friehouse, but still fine. I would get it again next time I walk into a Subway in 2030.

Thanksgiving Turkey Sandwich

Last week I also got a chance to try the new sandwich at Firehouse subs.

Good stuff! Excellent!!!

I loved all the toppings. Felt just like Thanksgiving leftovers. I thought the cup of gravy came with it but later discovered it was $1 upcharge. (boo!)

But I think with some gravy to dip it in, it'd taste even more amazing. Either way, this sandwich was certainly worth it and I can highly recommend anyone trying it.

Firehouse has yet to disappoint!

Twix: Snickerdoodle

Didn't even know this existed until a recent trip to the store last week. Had to try it because I love snickerdoodle and twix.

The result? Not bad. You can certainly taste the snickerdoodle. I'd have it once every holiday but I still prefer regular twix.

But, if it's in your area it's worth a try.

Black Phone 2 (review)

The first one was interesting. I enjoyed it.

The second....hmmmm.

It takes place years later as the kids are older now and the year is 1982. Bill has found a way to come back from the dead through the "spirit" world where his victims were in the first film.

Of course this leads the children to a winter camp by the lake, where they have to discover Bill's early kills before he kills them both....from the spirit realm.

AKA: Hollywood made tons of money on the first movie and demanded a sequel and this was the best the writers could put together.

It's not bad...just pointless. The first film was good. It didn't need a sequel. But the studios demanded it, so they made another.

Again, it wasn't bad just....what else is there to cover here? There's a bit where we find out more about what happened to the children's mother but who cares??

Watch the first one, pretend this one doesn't exist.

The Long Walk (review)

The trailer looked good. 50 boys, one from each state, walking until only one of them is left. And if you drop? They shoot you.

The winner is a made man for life. Becomes super rich and gets one wish too.

Sounds interesting? Yes.

Was it good? No... not in the least.

None of the movie made sense. These kids KNEW they were going to die. So why did they sign up for it in the first place? Do you REALLY need the money that bad? Because from the very few flashbacks we see, they don't seem to be piss poor. Just living an average life.

The movie doesn't tell you much about the state of the nation at the time (just that it's "bad") and as the characters die one by one you begin to realize you don't care about a single one of them.

Not much of a back story for these folks and the stupid part about the movie is that they WANTED to help each other out. Like whenever someone was about to drop, everyone would beg them to move forward...but why? Don't you want to win and NOT DIE?!?

And why do they care about these people they just met in the first place?? Honestly, nothing about this movie made any sense.

PASS.

Have a good weekend folks!

Minivan Man

I bought a minivan a few weeks ago. Toyota Sienna.

Love it. It has everything I love. Sliding doors, navigation, Synced A/C control for front and back. a LOT of cup holders. And none of the things I hate like the automatic switch that kills your engine at stops to "save gas"

It's perfect....and now my kids want to tear it up and make a mess in it. So far, I've been able to avoid it, but if my wife has her way, she WILL a allow them to throw trash, food and spill drinks in it before long.

I'll enjoy a clean car while it last, though I doubt that will be much longer.

I Like Me (Review)

A documentary on John Candy. I watched it. I like John Candy. Seems like everyone else did too.

The film explores his life and recounts several tales of what a great guy he was. There's not really that big of a "dark side" to him and that's ok. Not every actor needs to have one. In fact, it was refreshing to hear good stories for a change.

If you were a fan of Mr Candy's, this Netflix documentary is for you.

Kill me Again (review)

I never thought they would ever be able to screw up a "living the same day over and over again" plot...but this movie did.

It's a low budget movie about a serial killer, who after murdering someone in town, goes into a diner to low lay for a while. He decides to kill off the waitress but shortly after her death he finds himself walking back into the diner before everything happened....again and again and again.

They play it up throughout the film. He kills different people, everyone, himself...there's even a sequence where he tries killing the chef (who's killed the serial killer several times in the film) but can't seem to get it done (until the end) I even laughed at that scene!

The also had an interesting hook. There's someone in the diner who looks familiar but all the person does is sit and eat, without ever talking to him. It's a layer or mystery that leaves you wondering what is up.

In fact, I was prepared to like this film if they could stick the landing.

But they didn't.

Instead they shat the bed. While I was hoping he was trapped in purgatory or something strange like that (a priest appears in one of his time resets and gets a confession out of him) but instead? He's part of a super secret lab experiment the rehabilitates serial killers and they keep running him through a computer program until he reforms or goes insane.......uh what???

This movie blows. Complete waste of time.

Architects of the West Kingdom Big Box (mini-review)

The last few empty big boxes, I've bought for storage have been great, so I wanted to see if it held up to another game I love a lot.

This one comes with an exclusive pack of random cards that go into your game. Nothing to write home about but I appreciate them making a little effort to give you SOMETHING in the box instead of....just a box.

BUT, this one isn't worth the money. All 3 expansions fit but not well. The box is somehow bigger on my shelf and still overflowing like the smaller box was before it.

No change.

And this was supposed to fit everything without a problem?? I can't even get the mat in it. Maybe if I take out the terrible insert, all the bits will fit but overall...this one was a waste of money. Don't even bother getting it if you have the game and all the expansions.

Jaws 4: The Revenge

At last we get to the final movie in the series. And after watching it....it's hard to decide which is better between 3 and 4.

Man. I really wanted to like 4. But there's so much of the story that is extremely campy. The shark roaring (which I actually liked) The mom having some magical connection with the shark (awful) and the horrible editing during character deaths and at the end when the shark dies. In fact, it's so confusing as to what's going on, that this movie may be the worst of the bunch. The worst thing about 3 was its cheesy 3-D effects. The acting and scenes hold up pretty good.

Michael Caine is in this one....but delivers an underwhelming performance. The mom from the original one is back....but she's wondering around the movie the entire time not knowing what she's supposed to do.

Again....why does a shark follow a family to kill it across the ocean?? It wasn't related to the first shark. Why would it care who it eats? Oh, speaking of, there's a "fake" death in the end that cheapens the whole feel of the movie. They wanted to "raise the stakes" at the end but copped out because they didn't want to lose a key character.

Ok, I've decided. This one is the worst.

Have a good weekend folks!

Jaws 3 (re-watch)

 Here's where the pain begins.

They asked Brody to come back, offering him big bucks to do another sequel and the story goes that Roy Schneider laughed over the fun and hung up in response.

He was a wise man.

This movie isn't that good, though it had a decent performance by Dennis Quaid that wasn't enough to save this film.

I do love how they finally left Aminty for Sea World. That was a good idea. What really sank this film was the early 3-D effects, that leave scenes lingering awkwardly on random objects for the effect. And a lot of it looks like trash when you watch it in 2-D. It takes you out of the movie every time!

On the other hand, Megan actually enjoyed this one. She admits that it's not as good as the previous two but she still enjoyed it.

But is it the worst in the series? Find out tomrrow.

Jaws 2 (re-watch)

Inferior to the first movie but certainly entertaining. Solid #2 in the series to be sure.

The story goes that Roy Schneider was still under contract by Universal at the time and was forced to make the sequel (which he hated) but you couldn't tell in the film.

Once again, his performance is the highlight of the film.  He's excellent. The film does well enough to avoid the same re-hash of the prior film though the formula is the same. This time the Mayor is more cautious. How to prove there's a shark is different and of course the death scene is creative too.

Another well done film, worth the re-watch.

Jaws (re-watch)

Megan's favorite movie. We watched it last month and I thought I'd give my thoughts on it again.

We saw it last year in theaters. We missed it the last time it came out because it was such a busy time and by the time we were available, it was only showing at our theater at 10:40pm every night.

So we ended up watching it at home. Still a good movie. Man, Roy Schneider's performance as Brody is beyond fantastic. In fact, every character is SOLID in this film. Still the best shark movie out there. Worth watching again if you haven't seen in a while.

The sequels? I'll talk about them later.

Ghost: Sour Punk Lemonade

Tastes just like Sour PINK Lemonade, but with maybe a slight difference.

I had to try it though, since I try every new flavor that comes out but this wasn't much different from ones I've had in the past. I was more excited to see it somewhere, than taste it I think.

Either way, it's another flavor off the list. Wish I could find some of the the other limited flavors but no one in town seems to carry them.

Worst Day Ever

Welcome to the worst holiday ever.

I'm performing at my dinner theater tonight and the girls have plans so maybe I can get out of doing trick or treating....unless the Mrs wants to go early (which there is a 99% chance that will happen)

I'll say it again, this is my LEAST favorite holiday. Not a fan of dressing up. Halloween parties are boring, costumes are uncomfortable and annoying after you've worn it for over an hour and since we never celebrated it as kids I have no fond memories of it.

Just a waste of time.

But have a good weekend folks....trick or treat and all that trash.

Trainwreck: The Real Project X

In 2012 a girl's 16th birthday invitation went viral when she accidently posted the party as "public" on Facebook.

But after taking it down, people put another invite back up that attracted tens of thousands to this little town in Denmark to party. When the mayor brushed it off as a joke, they were completely unprepared for what happened next.

I do remember hearing about the girl who made her birthday party public but had no idea what happened afterwards. It wasn't the best story from this series but interesting to see what happened when the party after got started.

Overall, it was so-so.

Trainwreck: Storm Area 51

One of my favorite documentary series right now, I just watched more installments. And this one I've never heard of before.

Back in 2019 a joke post on the internet, turned into a social media frenzy, that involved over a million people pledging to attend a gathering to bum rush area 51.

This was the first time I'd ever heard of such a thing. How I never heard of this before I have no idea. But it was an interesting story about how everything got out of hand and involved the military, FBI, local and state authorities and millions of dollars in panic.

Great stuff. How the whole thing ended was the best part. Really fun doc to watch if you have the time.

Conjuring: :Last Rites

The first movie was one of the scariest things I'd ever seen.

The second was good.

The third was a trainwreck.

The fourth? It tried.

I really had high hopes for this one. Though it beat the 3rd movie, it falls short of the glory that put the franchise on the map.

Based off a real case from the Warren's, this is about a scary mirror.....yep.

The show has a lot of build up in the beginning but falls short in the end. In fact, I'd argue that the ending was a least scariest of the series. Though the first half was fun. I think both Nun movies beat this one and Nun movies were both "popcorn" movies that you watch once, enjoy and never see again.

This one falls within that category.

Enos TV show

Finally got to see the only known episodes from season 1 out on the internet.

Sadly, this doesn't cover every episode, which is a shame because the one episode no one had recorded was when Rosco P Coltrain guest starred on an episode and I bet that one was the best!

Either way, it was great to finally see the spin off to the classic Dukes of Hazzard show and why it flopped.

So many reasons....

1) It lacked a supporting cast. See this picture? I have no idea who the guy behind Enos is and I just finished watching the show. I think he's the chief of police but I'm not sure. He was hardly featured in the show. The other two besides Enos in the picture were fine but still lacked the star power of the supporting characters the Dukes enjoyed through their run.

2) Enos character was off. Sure, when playing an "aw sucks, I'm southern" type, I can understand the comical situations and misunderstandings they give Enos. But it's the times they want to make him a tough guy at the same time that confuses me. "I'm going to stop you into a grease stain" is something I never thought I'd hear Enos say. That and the fight scenes just didn't fit who Enos was in Hazzard County.

3) Lack of guest stars. Again, I didn't see the Rosco episode, but Daisy appears in one episode and has nothing to do but go out on dates with Enos. It's sad because they could've incorporated her character more into her episode like they did with so many female guest stars in other episodes. But for some reason, the romance angle was all the could give Enos without giving the tough southern girl attitude a breather, like they do in Dukes.

4) Enos wasn't ever meant to be a star. Enos is a supporting character trying to lead a show that couldn't figure out how to develop him further. I tried thinking of someone else they could've spun off and I'm thinking Cooter would've been a better choice. "Cooter's" could've been the name of a series where he moves to Atlanta to open a bigger shop. Each week, people come to him for help or just a little country fun. It would've been a cross between a drama and a comedy. But alas they went with Enos and it just wasn't interesting enough for viewers to stick around.

Overall, it was fun to finally see, but disappointing in the end.

New Ghost flavor!

I don't like anything with "cream" in the name of energy drinks but I always have to try each flavor at least once. And so I did.

It tastes exactly as you'd imagine but I wasn't a fan. It's better than the Orange creme at least but that's not saying much.

If you love the creme taste this might be for you but it surely isn't for me. I won't be getting this flavor ever again.

Please Ghost, do better next time when choosing out a flavor. This was a swing and a miss.

Have a good weekend folks!

Whatever happened to the paper bag?

Remember in the good ole days how you'd go to the grocery store and have your purchase packed in beautiful paper bags?

Over the past few decades this has disappeared completely from our culture and we're left with the cheap plastic bags that you always have to double bag because they get thinner each year.

I remember also loving the smell of the paper bag. These things hardly ripped and stacked neatly in your car or trunk.

.....Yeah, it was a slow day for me, so I got to thinking about this.

Elio (review)

Finally got a chance to watch the movie that bombed in theaters for Pixar.

This is way better than Inside Out 2.

The story of a boy who wants to be abducted by aliens gets his wish and more than he asked for when he's confused as the leader of Earth and sent on a quest to stop an invasion from a menacing alien race.

It's got humor and charm. Don't know why it bombed in theaters. Guess it looked a little too boring of an idea in the trailers? My kids wanted to try it out and in my experience, kids movies today are very bland and boring. I never know if I'm staying for the whole movie or walking out after the first 5 minutes.

While not "great" Elio was able to get me to stay for the entire film, so it wasn't that bad at all.

If you're bored for something to watch, you could do a lot worse than this movie.

Sketch (review)

A children's horror film. Made for kids....and one of the best movies I've seen in 2025 hands down.

I was shocked.

The movie is....witty. Really witty. In fact, whoever wrote this deserves an Oscar. I couldn't stop laughing at certain scenes and had my kids "shushing" me the entire time for laughing too loud.

At times it even reminded me of a good ole 80s movie involving kids fighting monsters.

The story is about a girl dealing with the death of her mother and draws "scary" pictures to deal with her grief.

But when the sketches come to life and start attacking the town, it's up to the kids to defeat them.

Charming. Wonderful. Excellent.

I will watch this anytime my kids want to. I can't wait to show this to my brother, sister and anyone else who wants to see it.

Seriously, one of the best films I've seen this year.

Go watch it.

F1 review

Saw this one finally. I'd heard good things about it...they were right. It's an excellent film.

It feels like I'm watching Top Gun Maverick again. The characters are rich and build depth with the audience throughout the film. I don't know (or care) that much about F1 racing but the movie engaged me enough in the storyline that it didn't matter. I didn't know the "rules" they were bending but they did a great job letting novices know what was going on. I didn't feel lost of confused either.

Solid film. Worth watching if you haven't seen it already. No wonder it did better than Superman at the Box Office this year.

Smurfs movie review

My kids wanted to see it. It was out on streaming.

It sucks. BEYOND terrible. The keep dipping in and out of the "real world" for no reason. There are no real characters to interact with. The story is a HUGE mess and Papa Smurf has 2 younger brothers called Ken and Roy.....I wish I was making that up.

I was shocked at how horrible this movie was. And yes they use the word "smurf" as a cuss word in the movie for cheap laughs.

They even bleep one of them out at the end when he say "What the ____?" then when he hears the bleep "What? I said Smurf?"

Ugh. Gag me with a fork, spoon AND knife, this movie was terrible. Even for kids.

Have a good weekend folks.

Sneaking snacks into theaters

Ah the time honored tradition of sneaking snacks into the movie theater.

Cokes, candy, chips....they all fit in a baggy pair of jeans, woman's purse or winter coat. I'm not sure what the record was for how many items I was able to smuggle in at once but with my winter coat on...it was a lot.

These days, I bring a soda and raisenettes into the theaters. Used to bring Junior Mints but there's a good chance I'll smoosh most of them in my pocket while getting in, so I don't get those anymore.

But don't worry, the Mrs always makes sure I spend my money buying her popcorn.

What ever happened to movie tickets?

I've noticed something very disturbing. Now when you go to the theaters, to cut costs, they just give you a receipt for the charge that doubles as your ticket.

Lame. Keeping those movies tickets over the years was so much fun! I can actually SHOW my kids the actual ticket, date and time I first watch a movie.

Now? Show them the receipts???

This is one major blow to the movie industry no one is talking about. But I miss it.

TMNT musical score

I watched this a few months ago when it was released in theaters and realized something.

I really like the score.

It goes great with the movie.

As I rewatch this classics in theaters, I find myself looking in the background at scenes and even listening to things like the music, that I never focused on before and this score is SOLID.

The movie's great too of course. I (like many others) think this was the best turtle movie ever made and STILL holds up strong today! But next time you watch it....make sure you listen to the score and you'll see what I mean.

The Blob (Review)

My brother wanted to watch the one from 1988 and I realized, I'd never seen it either so we decided to give it a try.

Excellent.

Perfect movie magic with the horror scenes. I enjoyed the creativity before everything became CGI. Wish they did a little more like these to be honest. It feels more real and a lot of the shots looked fantastic!

If you've never seen this before, it's worth the watch. It's "classic" horror too so even someone who doesn't like modern horror of today should enjoy this one too.

Friday the 13th: Sweet Revenge

Someone suggested I watch this short film that plays like the original movies I watched back in the day. It's on YouTube for free right now and it's not so bad. It does feel like it comes from that original line!

About 15 minutes long it's worth a watch if you are a fan of the original series, like I am. Speaking of original movies, I haven't seen them in quite sometime. Since Halloween is coming up, maybe I'll give them another watch through?

But tis the season for scary right now, so this one might be for you!

Passing the buck

Don't you love how businesses today no longer accept the charges that come with credit cards? In order to save the spare change they are now passing that cost to the customer, eliminating the reward points we get on our cards.

They are forcing us to revert back to the old dated world of paying with checks. At first it was my water bill and now, I've gone through an entire book of checks in a little over a month. I haven't done that in about 20 years.

But with all the big charges these days, you can't carry that cash around with you, so checks are the only option. What a load of crap.

Nobody 2 (review)

The first one was better. This one was fine, but needed a few scenes punched up. It kind of ran aground in the 2nd act and skates close to being a retread of the first movie.

I love Christopher Lloyd but MAN....he's 86 now and it shows. They can't give him that much to do, or leave him in the film that long because of his age and it's too bad because I love seeing him but he just doesn't have the energy anymore.

I'll watch a 3rd one if they make it, but I just hope they don't lose anymore of the magic that made the first one so special.

The best scenes are in the beginning, after that, the action becomes a little more generic and not as much fun like we had in the first film.

REDCON1

From the makers of Jolt Soda. As always, I had to give it a try. It was ok. Not really all that. Plus besides the gas station I got this from, I don't see it anywhere else, so it would be hard to find even if I did enjoy it.

It's wild, but there hasn't been that many new energy drinks on the market lately to impress me. Maybe I'm moving on from them? I don't drink as many as I used to, though I do have one every other day or so. I like the carbonation, it's just finding the right flavor I guess.

Anyway, glad I at least gave it a try.

Weapons (Movie review)

I loved Barbarian, so after seeing these were the same people, I couldn't wait to see it.

It was....ok. Not bad at all. Worth one watch but I've seen Barbarian 4 times since last year and would still watch it again in a heartbeat.

This one was more of a one-and-done scenario.

It's crazy but after leaving the theater my nephew and I agreed the movie got less scary as it went on. Never seen a horror movie do that.

Again, not bad, worth one watch and after that, move on.

Tooth Chests

Did anyone have these growing up?

It was little plastic chest given to you be the dentist, which you could put your teeth in when they fell out. I remember we had ours on the kitchen window seal.

I thought about them for the first time in years when my little girl just lost a tooth a month ago and asked me if the Tooth Fairey ever visited me in the middle of the night.

I proceeded to tell her it was the 80s and a different time back then, when a fairy visiting a child in the middle of the night was not tolerated.....oh and then I remembered these chest.

Have a good weekend folks!

Where's Waldo?

Who remembers the good ole days when we used to sit around for hours looking over a picture to find one dude.

Just saw a "7-1" book of these and almost bought it based off all the good memories I had. Though I think we only got 4 of them growing up, I remember looking at each inch of the picture trying to find everything I could. Really fun stuff!

This spawned tons of merchandise and even a cartoon at one point! Now it's a little forgotten memory of the past. (at least by me)

Who knows? Maybe some day when I save up enough Amazon reward points on my card, I'll get one and test out my eagle eyes once again!

Buffy the Re-Boot?

Well, it's true. They're bringing back Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I loved the original show.

I'm scared to death over this reboot.

The reason is obvious too. With the exception of Cobra Kai and Top Gun 2, NO ONE has been successful with bringing a franchise back. It's been one huge disappointment after the next. I hate seeing these franchises ruined in such a way.

I hope this doesn't ring true for Buffy, but the odds are against it being anything but good.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Barbarian (re-watch)

My brother and his boys wanted to see this because they'd heard so much about it.

I've seen it 3 times already but was welcoming a 4th viewing. I love this film. Very well done for a horror movie. Very different from what you would usually see in a horror movie too.

Anyway, my nephews didn't last 20 minutes into the film until they had to go upstairs. They didn't even last as long as my sister-in-law did when I first watched it.

Still a good flick. If you enjoy horror, I can easily suggest you check this one out.

Perfect 10.

K-Pop Demon Hunters (review)

My nephews insisted we watch this for movie night a few weeks ago. It's about a singing group that also kills demons but their popularity is challenged by a group of demons, posing as a boy band, creating music that's trending more than theirs.

No, I'm not making this up.

My girls loved it.

It's one of the worst movies I've seen this year. It's just as bad as the story arc sounds. I'm assuming this was made for little girls. But that it's trending on Netflix has me worried about our future generation.

Now I just have to hold my breath and hope my girls forget about this movie over the next couple of days so I don't have to see it on my TV ever again.

Stupid. Just stupid.
