February Movie Preview

Not much of interest coming out this month.

 Birds of Prey

This movie looks AWFUL! I mean, AWFUL! I wouldn't go see it if given a free ticket!

Sonic the Hedgehog

No interest in this one either. It looks like garbage. Plus I never played it on Sega as a kid so I have no fond memories of it either.

I'm done.

Have a good weekend folks!

Rescue Rangers Review

Now that I have Disney+ I've been taking the time to watch a few cartoons from my childhood. Since Duck Tales was a hit I decided to give the next Disney Afternoon show in line another watch.

Rescue Rangers doesn't start off with an origin story, oddly enough that 5 part series was saved midway through the season for some reason. But it's about a group of rodents led by Chip and Dale to solve mysteries, mainly involving animals.

It premiered back in 1989 and only lasted one primetime season of 65 episodes.

For kids it's fine. For adults not so much. Every once in a while I'd smile at an episode I remembered watching as a kid but besides that there's not much else to it.

I'm hoping Talespin has more to offer.

Burn E Review

Oh wow! I didn't even know this one existed! It's a tale of a droid that happens during the "Wall E" movie. And the good news is, it's pretty good! I really enjoyed it! Well worth your time, especially if you enjoyed the movie.

In fact, it makes me want to see the movie all over again!

Monster Inc Shorts

I had time to watch a few shorts from the Monsters movies by Pixar. Here's my thoughts.

Mike gets a new car but everything goes wrong in his first test drive. I know I've seen this before I just don't know where. Kids will lover it. Adults will only love it's 3 min run.

This one takes place during the Monster's University movie is actually funny. Mike tries to make his party great by stealing from another party using the "closet doors" of a parents bedroom as a short cut between the two parties.

Pretty funny stuff and worth your time if you have Disney+

Top 100 Vintage Games 2020 predictions (10-1)

 10) Thunder Road

I see this one staying in my Top 10 again.

 9) Omega Virus

The BEST electronic game in my collection at the moment! But I'm doubtful if it can hold it's place in my Top 10.
 8) Can't Stop

This one remains in the Top 10 maybe even jumps a few spots. I've been looking at getting the expansion, don't know if it'll make a difference in the ranking but I'm interested in it all the same.

 7) Pro Action Football

FUN two player game. But I think that hurts it in the end and it moves down a few spots this year.

 6) Blood Feud in New York/Conquest of the Empire

Both games are solid and since they're so similar I have them ranked together. I predict these games will be in my Top 5 by the end of the year.

 5) Battle Ball

Great game. But doubtful whether it'll hold in the Top 5 since it is for two players. I think it'll slide down a bit but remain in my Top 10.

 4) Aladdin's Dragon

Another new game I added to the list last year from my main board game list. It's tough competition being in the Top 10. I think it'll still be there but ranked a little lower than it was in 2019.
 3) Fireball Island

I think this is going to be a permanent #3 going forward on my list. Solid Game.

 2) Star Wars Queen's Gambit

Another solid game that's locked in at #2 for good on my list. Nothing beats this 2 player game...well except #1.

1) Strat-o-matic Baseball

It is and will forever be my #1. As long as I keep playing through seasons, I don't think that'll ever change.

So what's in store for this year? Guess we'll find out!

Top 100 Vintage Games 2020 predictions (20-11)

 20) Mr President

Being an election year I predict this game will rise a few spots once again once its played.

 19) Hotel Tycoon

My nephews and I love this game but I'm afraid it may drop a few spots once my 2020 list is done.

 18) Rollercoaster Tycoon

This game moved up the list a little but I don't think it'll go any higher. It may drop a spot or two but will probably stay within my Top 20.

 17) McDonald's

It used to be my #1 but it's dropped a lot over the past two years. My dream is to get to play this IN a McDonald's. If that happens, it moves up the list for sure. If not, it drops out of my Top 20.

 16) Campaign Trail

It took a bit of a tumble last year but again, now that it's an election year this has a chance to climb back into my Top 10 or at least get pretty close.
 15) Pac Man

Newest game in my collection that's the highest on this list. I have a feeling it'll fall a little bit this year but remain in my Top 20 for sure.

 14) Survive

The only way this game moves down is if some mighty powerful games get added to my list. But to move up any more, I don't think it'll happen. This is as high as it gets.

 13) Masterpiece

I LOVE this game! It got pushed out of the Top 10 last year but I don't see how it gets back in. Best case scenario is that it only drops a couple of spots in 2020.

 12) King Oil

Fantastic Game. But with my oldest nephew moving away from playing games with us this may be on it's way down since he was the one who requested it the most.

11) Ebay

My 2018 #1 that dropped this past year. I love the game but think that trend will happen once again this year.

Have a good weekend folks!

Top 100 Vintage Games 2020 predictions (30-21)

 30) Dungeon Dice

Fun fast paced dice game that may drop a few on the next list.

 29) Knockout

LOVE this game. But it's going to be hard to move up this list. I'll go ahead and say it claims a few spots higher on the list next time around.

 28) How to Succeed

Keen to see what this will do this year. We're performing the play in March and I plan on bringing this game out. Depending how it goes will determine how it moves on the list. I'm hoping that means UP!
 27) Batman: Gotham City Mystery

Fun game but rarely gets out anymore. I think it'll drop a little in 2020.

 26) Nerts

Never gets played with my family anymore. I hate that. It could be a Top 10 game for me if it did. This one drops again if it doesn't get played.

 25) High Bid

I love 3M games and I love bidding games. This one's a keeper to be sure but will it go up? My heart says "No"

 24) Web of Gold

Lovely game but it might have reached the height of popularity in 2019. I think it goes down but remains in my Top 30 by the end of the year.

 23) Electronic Mystery Mansion

Solid game. Though it's hard to move up the list at this stage. I think it slips a little in 2020.

 22) LCR

Stays in the Top 30 but doesn't move up any higher than where it is.

21) Gold

Can this game break back in to my Top 20? I'll say "yes" and see what happens when it comes to the table later this year.

Top 100 Vintage Games 2020 predictions (40-31)

 40) Mr Creepy's Tomb of Doom

My niece loves this game. It still gets played, though drops slightly on my list next year.
 39) Labyrinth

After a surprise surge in the rankings this year, I'm curious to see if it goes even further up. I'm inclined to say "Yes"
 38) The American Dream

This one stays in the Top 40. I don't seeing it moving that much on the list. Good game!

 37) X-men Alert and X-men Under Siege

I had a BLAST playing these last year. I hope to have the same experience once again in 2020. That being said, these games will drop a few spots I think as new games are added to the list.
 36) Mall Madness

I think this one moves up a few more spots in 2020. And will eventually be in my Top 20 when my girls are old enough to play it.
 35) It from the Pit

Great game! It stays in my Top 40 once again this year.

 34) Star Wars: Epic Duels

Already played it this year and I think it's going up a lot this year! My love for it has returned!
 33) Bas-Ket

A 2 player game I adore but will drop again due to not getting the plays.
 32) Boggle

One of the last classic games left in my collection. Sad fact is, it never gets played anymore. I see this one taking a nose dive in 2020 unless something changes.

31) Liar's Dice

The Top 30 better watch out! This game is aching to break into it and I think 2020 is its year!

Top 100 Vintage Games 2020 predictions (50-41)

 50) Rattler

This may slither up a list a little more in 2020!

 49) TV Wars

As much as I love it, it's going to drop big time on the list this year. I don't plan on playing it unless someone specifically asks.

 48) Ziggy

Great game. One of the few new ones I added last year. If I continue to have fun with it, it moves up again.
 47) Crocodile Hunter

Another game that will probably move up the list again because ever time I play it I tend to enjoy it more.
 46) Legend of Zagor

Another surprise play of this one and it could inch up a little more as well! Though if it falls I think it stays in my Top 50.
 45) Dinosaur

Fun little battle game. But that's all it is. Battle. It scoots down the list a little once more in 2020.
 44) Star Trek

With no one left interested in playing it with me, this great game will tumble even more spots down the list this year.
 43) Trump

With it being an election year, I expect this game to rise once again on the list!

 42) Break the Safe

Fun COOP game. But Megan won't be playing it with me this year so I think it'll drop on the list.
41) Bumper Cars

Great game. Wouldn't be surprised to see it climb a little higher on the list next year.
