 Minions

I really do.
 Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation

Can't WAIT for it to come out! One of the most anticipated films of the year for me!

Terminator: Genisys

Nope. No interest whatsoever. If the Mrs. wants to see it I may go but other than that I'm fine missing out on it.

See ya!

Princes of the Universe Episode 23

Just like "Samoflange", I decided to give you a video version of "Princes" to try out. Enjoy!

What happend to toy guns?!

I know this post is more of me wanting to gripe than it actually making sense but I felt the need to address it so I'm doing it here.

The toy gun. As kids we had a great time playing with them, but as time went on, safety concerns increased and sadly toy guns started looking like this.

I remember all toy guns weren't like this in stores at the time, so we searched for one without the orange tips on it because we thought they looked stupid. As the year went by however, it got harder and harder to find until they were all carrying the dreaded "orange tip"

A lot of the kids in the neighborhood "fixed" that but using a screw driver and a hammer to break it off. You ran the risk o destroying the gun point but to some of us, it was worth it.

Take the Han Solo gun for instance. Back in the day my friends older brother had one and it looked awesome. When I heard they were reprinting it again in the late 90's I couldn't wait to pick up one for myself when it came out. But this is what we got:
I HATED it. It looks horrible and is a bigger eye sore than joy to look at. I've always wanted to spray paint it black but never got around to doing it.

I know it's for safety concerns these days but I really don't like the way toy guns look these days.

Ok, hopping off the soap box now. C-ya tomorrow folks!

Survivor Fun Facts

Did you know I've been a fan of Jeff Probst ever since his days on Rock N Roll Jeopardy? Yep, that was his gig before Survivor came about. Wild huh?

Did you also know for $6 a month CBS All-Access let's you stream ALL 30 SURVIVOR SEASONS?! I'm planning on getting it soon.

Have a good weekend folks, I'm done talking about Survivor for a while!

Survivor San Juan Del

Do I really have to talk about last years? Ok, I'll do it. As you know, Natalie Anderson won and it was the 3rd time I've ever guessed the winner from the first episode correctly.

I didn't like her on the show but she deserved the win for how smart she played everyone on the island and made herself a lock for the win.

I'll admit I was a little bummed they didn't bring back past season contestants but seeing how well the new ones turned out I'm glad they did it this way.

Missy and Baylor I hate almost as bad as Parvati, I felt sorry for John being around Jaclyn so much and the Christy brothers love fest with themselves was too funny!

I liked seeing John Rocker on the show but his anger got the better of him again and he was voted out quick but my all time favorite for the season was Keith who I really hop gets his 2nd chance soon.

Fun Fact:

I'm not doing a review of season 30 because it just ended and doesn't need one. Have a good day people!

Survivor Cagayan

Tony Vlachos did what he said he was gonna do the whole time and won Survivor. I couldn't believe he did it either!

This season the tribes were divided into three groups. Brain vs Beauty vs Brawn and I thought it worked well!

The Brains shot themselves in the foot the entire time. The Brawn fought and Beauty somehow always managed to make it through.

From Brawn you saw Lindsay give up once Clifford got voted off, Sarah peg Tony for a cop from the very beginning without even knowing his background. Cool Yung and annoying Trisha.

Brain had the Idiot award in their fold with Kassandra, who was so stupid about the game I wondered why she was put on the "Brains" team in the first place. The only good guy to come out of this group is Spencer and I hope he comes back. He was an awesome player and the person I'd like to see return the most from this season.

Beauty had losers almost all the way through. Brice was a diva, Jeremiah a flopper who no one could trust and Morgan. Who if I ever see may have to take heat from my Mom when I slap the taste out of that girls mouth. LJ was the only decent one in there group.

Fun Fact:

Before making it on the show, Spencer had applied 3 other times to get on Survivor but Jeff kept saying "No" because he didn't think Spencer had a chance at being interesting of winning this game. And he came very close to being wrong as you saw Jeff publicly apologize to Spencer during the Reunion show. I hope they bring him back!

Survivor Blood vs Water

Tyson finally wins this season and makes another "good guy" win for the books!

This season was unbelievably good. With returning Survivors and their kin I couldn't stop watching! Best story to me was the brothers Aras and Vytas. Such a great feud and love between the two made for excellent TV.

Candace and her Beaux John were there as a last minute addition due to another couple dropping out because of medical problems.

Colton brought his much enjoyable to watch partner Caleb into the game. Then Colton quit again when he saw there was no one willing to play with him. Big baby!

Original Gerome came back with his niece and actually lasted a lot longer in the game than I thought he would!

Idiot award winner Kat came back with her boyfriend and was just as stupid as ever. Though Hayden I kinda liked. He just needs o get a new girlfriend.

Laura came back with her equally annoying daughter. I hated them both. And Monica was joined by her husband Brad because CBS wanted ratings.

Rupert came on for the 4th time (tying Rob) with his wife and lasted all by 2 seconds in the game. I'm glad though because he's old news to me now.

Tina was there with her daughter and they weren't so bad in the long run. Cheered for them a little. And even though I cheered for Aras and his brother the most, I don't mind Tyler winning it at all.

Fun Fact:

Aras and Vytas both welcomed their first children into the world last year in 2014. Congrats to the both of them!

Sad Fact:

Caleb died in a train accident one year later.

Princes of the Universe: Episode 22

In this Episode we talk about the movies we've seen this summer, like Jurassic World and Avengers 2 as well as our favorite Star Wars toys from Kenner and the Star Wars Expanded Universe.

Survivor Camamoan

The year Cochran won it and won it quite easily. (now the producers won't have to ask him back)

Andrea, Brenda and Corinne came back to play the game and no one cared. Dawn played much better this time around and Erik's still an idiot. Though I may give the Idiot Award to Matt because he was completely clueless as to how Survivor is played. I have no idea how he made it through auditions.

Hurting for strong black females, the producers asked Francesca back again even though she was the FIRST to be voted off her first season on and history repeated itself as she was voted off again by her tribe and was the first to go! (good riddance) I thought it was stupid to bring her back in the first place.

Reynold played a good game but lost control of it in the end and Malcolm went for broke and made some brilliant plays in the game but couldn't make it in the end.

Best moment was the bluff to vote Phillip out that turned into a real thing when Phillip called their bluff saying they wouldn't play the idols. But they did and Phillip went home with his head KNOWINGLY on the chopping block. A bold move but a strong one to be sure. I applaud Phillip for it. I'm afraid I would have caved in like everyone else does in those situations.

Most hated for me was Sherri. She did nothing in the game but ride coat tails and I hate anyone who plays to win that way. Thankfully she didn't receive a single vote in the end.

Overall, Cochran's win was greatly overshadowed by all the drama that went down in this season.

Fun Fact:

As of 2015 Malcolm is currently dating past contest So Kim from Survivor One World. Survivor cupid strikes again!

Survivor Philippines

Is it bad I had to look this one up to see who won it? It wasn't that long ago too and I still didn't remember Denise Stapley was the winner. Did you?

I think it's because there were so  many more interesting characters to watch than Denise. Like baseball great Jeff Kent, Facts of Life star Lisa, Survivor returners, Jonathan and Mike (from Austraila!!)and Russell Swan, who fell out of favor fast within his tribe.

You also had Roberta, who looked good in a bikini so the producers had her come back... to look good in a bikini again. This girl thinks she's super smart yet I never saw her make one big move EVER in the game.

Zane even was more interesting to watch than Denise but due to his nicotine habit he was voted out early too. But no one will come closer to my heart this season than Malcom. Oh man! Who didn't want this all around nice guy to win?! I know he's already received another chance already but once more from the producers ain't gonna hurt my feelings!

Fun Facts:

Jeff loved Lisa so much on Survivor that he let her co-host his own self titled talk show until it's cancellation in 2013.

Did you know Survivor to this date (season 30) has NOT left the Philippines since? To save money the producers have been moving the show around to multiple islands every year which is why I'm afraid we won't be seeing any other beautiful places anytime soon on the show.

Thursday, June 18, 2015

Survivor One World

Now we're getting back to the good stuff! Even though Kim Spradlin won it didn't sour the season as a whole.

Two tribes living as one. Brilliant. It was also Guys vs Girls again and the guys refusing to help the women, was hilarious. This season was just plain fun to watch!

It was the debut of Colby (Megan's most hated Survivor to date) and Chelsea (one of the few women I've liked on the show and I'm puzzled to why they haven't asked her back) There was Troyzan and Tarzan, the blonde idiot Katrina (who wins the Idiot award for the season) Jonas the sushi chef and Lief the midget who did nothing but sit there and let others tell him what to think the whole time on the island.

Monica was on this season too but only because of her husband's NFL fame. (CBS was seriously trying to court football fans into watching the show back then) and finally Nina. Though I know this is awful to say but she has to be the single most hideous person without makeup I've ever seen in my entire life.

Best moment was when the girls blindsided Kat and had her sobbing all the way across the exit bridge. EXCELLENT!

Fun Fact:

Chelsea was talked into auditioning for Survivor by her best friend Jamie from Survivor China! So many connections I never knew about!

Survivor South Pacific

Sophie Clarke wins in what was one of the most pathetic Survivors endings yet.

Just like the year before they gave tribe leaders to both tribes. Coach on one end and Ozzie on the other. Though Ozzie couldn't make it the whole way (sadly) Coach did and just as Jeff predicted, he lost again.

Other memorable people this season was Russell's nephew Brandon Hantz, who was trying to play the game and redeem his Uncle's name, but ended up showing his true Hantz colors in the end. Obvious producer favorite Cochran made his first appearance too and was absolutely mind controlled by Coach the whole time. Amazing to see!

Lovable mother Dawn get her first appearance this season and tried and true Rick was someone to cheer for indeed but had no personality on the show so I doubt the producers would give him another shot at it.

Fun Fact:

Coach went on to star in a terrible indie film afterwards and even had a band with Courtney (from Survivor China) in it!

Survivor Redemption Island

After 4 tries, the producers finally get Boston Rob to win the million dollar prize. BOO!!

But the season overall was pretty good! Andrea somehow dominated Redemption Island, Russell Hantz didn't have a chance and was booted in the middle of the season. Coincidentally brining the show a step down in entertainment) and Grant was a good guy but ended up playing as one of Rob's goons instead of establishing his own game. But going back to Russell, his face when he finally lost on Redemption Island was sad to watch. He loves this game and though he's the best player to never win, no one will give him a chance anymore because of past seasons how he played. Sucks.

Ralph tried to play the country farmer role but ended up being a poor imitation of Tom from previous seasons, and Stephanie was nothing but a glorified lackey of Russells. Funny thing is, she never knew she was being manipulated the whole time!

FBI pink undies wearing Phillip made his debut on the show and was a hoot to watch and Matt was the best thing about the show. He's story and journey that season was the most interesting to watch, with the world against him he did everything he could to win his way back into the game only to get voted off by Boston Rob's zombie followers yet again.

David's speech at the end about how Rob fooled everyone was brilliant too.

Fun Fact:

Even though Russell stated he was never coming back to Survivor again after being voted out, Jeff asked him at the Reunion show that year if he should throw Russells number away in that case. "No, keep it." he said.

Princes of the Universe Episode 21

This Episode has us speaking about movies and the Evil Dead Trilogy.

Survivor Nicaragua

The village idiot (and all around good guy) Fabio won it all this season.

This was the season they divided the group into Young vs Old and it played out great.

Memorable early moments was when Crazy Holly filled Dan's expensive shoes full of mud. (who brings expensive shoes to Survivor anyway?)

Naonka became one of the most hated characters in Survivor history for pushing a one legged girl (Kelly) down just to get the clue to the idol. She was ghetto as you could get and thankfully ended up quitting the game so we don't have to worry about her coming back on the show.

Brenda was smart but not a favorite of mine, Jane the feisty old woman who was a fan favorite, Marty the chess master who was outsmarted himself out of the game and former Dallas Cowboys Coach Jimmy Johnson was on just for ratings. (he didn't make it long to which the producers were devastated about)

You had Sears contestant winner Jimmy T on the show as well as Shannon who called out his game plan early in the game and was voted out almost immediately after.

Fun Fact:

True to his nickname, Fabio is a model in New York.

Saturday Morning Samoflange Episode 21

In this Episode we talk about Top 5 Martial Arts movies.

Survivor Heroes vs Villians

I loved this season. And it was the 2nd time ever that I'd guessed the winner on the first episode. Sandra Diaz won again and she deserved it too. Making a lot of smart moves at the end which cemented her victory.

It's easier to guess the winner of these because I already know the players so well. I liked the idea and set up for this season and of course love seeing my favorites return.

Coach redeemed himself in the audiences eyes as not being so bad. Even Jerri cooled down a bit. Parvati STILL sucks, Amanda was "blah" the whole time. Sugar was voted out first (loved it) and Candace was still as forgettable as ever. (they would ask her back AGAIN though) Ugh!

Courtney couldn't make it as far without Bryan from Survivor China making the decisions for her, Cirie being labeled as a "hero" still confuses me to this day and I believe EVERYONE forgot who Danielle was though I knew she wouldn't win without Aras's protection from her previous season.

Randy was back but his stay was short. (sadly) Colby was back but he just wasn't the same. Older, slower and more angry and fussy than fun. Tom made it back too but didn't stay long either.

James was back but didn't make any memorable moments. Boston Rob was back and him getting outsmarted by Hantz MADE MY DAY!

JT was back but couldn't hang in there either. Rupert made himself look like a bigger idiot (Idiot Award winner by the way) and I never want to see him on the show again. Turns out once was quite enough for him.

Tyson came back and was victim of one of the most brilliant moves in Survivor history as Russell once AGAIN dominated the game and Stephanie was back for reasons I'm at a loss to explain.

Hantz won this outright but for the 2nd time wasn't given the title because of all the hurt feelings he made in the game. Sucks too. He deserved it both times.

Fun Facts:

Stephanie married Phillies pitcher Kyle Kendrick shortly after this season aired. (Yuck!)

And I knew Russell wasn't going to win this season based on the look he had during the Reunion show of the last season. He looked mortified and knowing he had just filmed Heroes vs Villains while Samoa aired I knew HE knew he didn't win the next season either.

Thursday, June 11, 2015

Survivor Samoa

Bimbo Natalie won it for essentially doing nothing and the mastermind Russell Hantz came away with $100,000 for fan favorite. Though he's still considered the smartest person ever to play the game by some. (including me)

This season had it's fair share of characters. Russell Swan, who passed out during a challenge that to this day Jeff says was "the scariest moment on Survivor for me yet!" Jeff, thought he had died. Russell had to leave the game but he played to the fullest and was an amazing competitor.

Then of course you have Shambo rocking her mullet.

But let's talk about the mastermind here, Hantz. He found the idol without even needing a clue, (3 times!!) he made alliances with the women because he knew they were easier to control and he knew the way to play. He kept making moves throughout the game that truly proved he could walk the talk about being the best player Survivor's ever scene and I have to agree with that.

Fun Fact:

Though completely forgettable this season Laura was asked to return back for another season down the road. Again showing how thin the list is of interesting female characters on the show.

Wednesday, June 10, 2015

Survivor Tocantins

I know I keep saying this but my goodness, what a fantastic season! Alabama boy JT Thomas won it all and it's always great to see the good guys come out on top!

This was the introduction of Tyson. The most lovable villain on the show. He was fun, he was cooky and his complete tear down of Sierra was worth the price of admission alone!

But let us not forget the Dragon-Slayer's first appearance (Coach) was on this season. I hated him for the first episode, then completely fell in love with him after that. STILL love that guy in fact! A loud mouthed braggart who Jeff was quoted at saying "Put him in the game every time and Coach will never win."

Gotta love that kind of ringing endorsement!

Fun Facts:

Coach became a dad last year. I hope they doesn't mean he's hung up his samari sword for good though!

The producers REALLY love Tyson too. He's been given 3 chances to win the game. (though Boston Rob still holds the record at 4)

Tuesday, June 09, 2015

Survivor Gabon

Another great season, a good guy Bob Crowley winning. It was a great palette cleanser from the previous season. (Parvati yuck!)

This season had its memorable characters as well. Ace, who's game was cu short for trusting in Sugar. Speaking of dumb, sugar was an idiot and it ticked me off every time she went to exile island and chose comfort over immunity idol clue (because she knew the idol was already found by then)

You then have the annoying Corrine (but then again, isn't there always someone annoying on the show?) Ken the video gaming pro, (who I cheered for to win) Randy, the cranky old guy who had no friends. He was by far the BEST person to hear talk about his cast mates. He was hilarious and I loved how he talked about Sugar. And even though he fell for the whole "fake idol" thing he doesn't get the Idiot award from me. That will always go to Sugar.

But one guy who I loved the most this season was Matty. He played with heart and is definitely someone I'd love to see back in this game. He seemed like such an awesome guy!

Fun Fact:

Sugar admits she did Survivor only for publicity. She's trying to be an actress/musician/model or basically anything that'll make her famous. So far, being a reject on Survivor has been the highest point in her career and we're happy about that!

Princes of the Universe Episode 20

In this Episode we talk about the Star Wars Expanded Universe as well as the latest Marvel comics and movie news!

Survivor Micronesia (Fans vs Favorites)

The evilest person ever to win Survivor Parvati Shallow won this one and I hated it! She was awful, manipulative, conniving disgusting human being. (ok, I'm going a little too far with that last one but you get the point)

Fans got to square off against there favorites and I was so happy to see them back. Returning players were Ami, Cirie, Amanda, Ozzie, Johnny Fairplay, Jonathan and Yau-Man. It was a great season where so much happened!

Idiot Award has to go to Erik, the guy that GAVE AWAY his immunity and the girls turned on him immediately, voting him out. It's still the stupidest move in Survivor history to my knowledge.

Favorite moments was Ami crying like a baby and complaining at Tribal council because she knew she was going next and didn't want to. (I loved it in fact) Also funny to see Johnny Fairplay realize he had NO friends in the game and gave up early in the season.

Fun Facts:

Amanda and Ozzie did indeed stay together as a couple after this season ended. For how long I have no idea because there's no news I could find for them recently.

Johnny Fairplay didn't quit. He just gave up and had his group vote him off, yet according to Jeff, Fairplay won't be asked backed because "quitters" never get the chance. Though several other previous survivors have done the same thing Fairplay did, they aren't labeled "quitters" The real reason?

Back stage during the after party from the Reunion episode, reports say that Fairplay was a real Jackass to Jeff and in return Jeff has banned him from returning to the show. Sounds more believable to me than the former reason stated.

PARVATI SUCKS!!!

Saturday Morning Samoflange Episode 20

Today I decided to give you the full YouTube video! (one week only) We talk about the best comedies of all time!

Friday, June 05, 2015

Survivor China

I loved this season. Superfan Todd Herzog won and they weren't on the beach. (something that we rarely see anymore these days)

The idiot award went to blonde haired Jamie this season, as she thought she found a hidden immunity idol lying on the ground....out in the open...as is that were possible. Of course it turned out it wasn't one and everyone burst out laughing because they knew she didn't have it. I admit, I laughed too. What a moron!

But I'll have to split that Idiot award with James. The gravedigger from Louisiana had not one but two immunity idols on him when he got voted out. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

But WAIT! Let's split that vote 3-ways and give Peih-Gee an Idiot award too for telling everyone she was a "master" at puzzles yet in there first immunity challenge dealing with puzzles she froze and failed the whole team!

Other characters that season was Amanda (who I liked ok in this season but not in the others) and Courtney the spoiled punk rock girl. Hated her in this season but liked her a little more when she came back.

This season was just so full of characters I would have been glad to see half of them return! (and they almost did)

Fun Fact:

Though claiming to love the game, Brian hasn't accepted invitations to come back from producers.

Amanda holds he Survivor record for most Tribal appearances without getting a vote.

Boston Rob and Amber weren't the only love birds on the show. 2 years after the season ended Survivor China contestants Jamie and Erik got married. Matchmaking reality show? Looks like it!

Survivor Fiji

Earl Cole wins and the good guys win Survivor 3 straight!

This was the year of Yau-Man's amazingly crafted fake idol that fooled everyone. He was also the add dominater in the challenges that season too. But didn't when on account of Dreamz's broken promise to God (and everything else) that he would hand over his immunity necklace for the new car Yau-Man had won. Making Dreamz the most HATED finalist by the entire jury.

Earl played it smart and brought 2 other despicable characters with him, which made it all the easier for the jury to hand him the million dollars. With Dreamz at one side and Cassandra on the other. A woman who had no clue what she was doing the entire time and just followed Earl's orders. Good play for Earl.

Of course there's the whiny Anthony who got on everyone's nerves. I was happiest to see him go I think.

Fun Fact:

3 years later Earl married a Pharmacist in LA and is living happily ever after. Though I'd love to see him come back and play the game again, it's doubtful now he ever will.

Survivor Cook Islands

Good guys win back to back as Yul Kwon becomes the sole Survivor!

This season had the controversial tribe division by race. Black, white, Asian and Hispanic. It didn't last long though and soon they were shuffled into 2 teams, making the whole thing feel more like a marketing ploy than a strategy. But it gave us some memorable moments!

Like for the first time ever when Jeff gave the tribes a chance to mutiny to the other team before a challenge. Legendary player Jonathan and forgettable player Candace jumped at the chance. Other memorable characters from this season was the amazing Ozzie and my most hated Survivor contestant ever Parvati.(who I still can't stand)

Idiot award goes to the early departure Survivor Billy, who thought Candace was in love with him even though they never really spoke. (being on separate tribes)

Fun Fact:

Candace hooked up with Adam on the show that season, but when she came back to the show it ws with her husband. (who was not Adam) Guess things just didn't work out.

Tuesday, June 02, 2015

Survivor Panama

The good guy wins again! Aras Baskaukas the "yoga" guy won it all that season. He had the whole game under his control the whole time too.

But this season had a lot of first. It debuted Exile Island (which is used several times in the proceeding seasons) and had an interesting twist challenge with an "opinion" poll about the other Survivors to show folks what others on their tribe thought about them. It was a good play they haven't done in while but it's due for another comeback, I'd love to see.

But there were other characters I enjoyed too. Shane, the crazy guy who used a rock as a blackberry. I've always wanted to see him come back and rumor has it that he wants to come back but for some reason the producers won't let him.

Other mentionable characters was the honorable Terry and the evil Cirie. Though Cirie would be asked back (3 times!) Terry never was.

Fun Fact:

The very forgettable contestant Danielle, who rode Aras coattails all the way to the end was actually asked BACK on the show years later! She was so forgettable that even I had to look her up when she was announced for the new season. Seriously Survivor, are you hurting for female characters so bad that you had to use someone NOBODY even remembered?!

Monday, June 01, 2015

Survivor Guatemala

Another great season. Danni Boatwright won and though I really didn't care for her she wasn't bad either. Just so-so.

This season so the return of the biggest losers on Survivor. Bobby Jon and Stephanie. I didn't like the fact hey got to come back because of "losing" but I ended up cheering hard for Bobby Jon in the end and he didn't make it as for as whiny Stephanie did.

Also, this was the season Jeff brought up the "curse of the car" Talking about how in all prior seasons anyone who won the car never won Survivor. He gave Cindy the option to break that curse and give one to the other 4 remaining contestants instead.

But Cindy thought she could beat the odds and keep the car for herself. That night....she was voted out.

Fun Fact:

This wouldn't be the last time the producers would give Stephanie a chance to win. She was invited back to play later on, while poor Bobby Jon hasn't been asked back since.
