Comic Con
So last week San Diego held it's annual Comic Con and I have to say, I miss it. Hearing about all the panels, the vendors who attended and Jurassic Park 4 it makes me want to go back.
Sadly, tickets to the Super Bowl are just as easy to get a hold of, so unless I can find the inside connection it looks like I'm out of luck!
Too bad, I really was looking forward to meet Adam West.

Unlocked

So it's finally happened, the greedy owners and the greedy players came to a selfish decision to split the pie for another 10 years. Rats! I was really hoping this thing would last a lot longer than it did.
But as predicted, it wasn't going to last past July. What really makes me sick is the fact that this will in no way affect the popularity of the game as it has for other sports.
Baseball suffered a complete knockout when the struck in '94 and haven't recovered since. Hockey was already low on popularity but when the strike hit it a few years ago even ESPN lost interest in them, by dumping the rights to play games on their station. This coming from the same channel that shows Major League Soccer, the World Poker Series and Championship Bowling. (ouch!)
But does it hurt football? Not a chance. These commentators are going to shy away from any negative reporting on what just went down. They got their favorite toy back and now are just content to sit and play and forget how disgusting this whole thing was.
Too bad we didn't have the same sentiment back in '94
Star Wars Deleted Scenes for Blu Ray
http://bcove.me/vcpwg3np
Just in case you've been sleeping in a cave over the weekend, look what Lucasfilm released to promote the Blu Ray release of Star Wars this September.
I downloaded the Ipad app last week and was greatly disappointed by the total uselessness of it. But this clip? Oh yeah... this clip says it all!
Let's break it down here:
1) The alternate opening to Return of the Jedi. I knew it existed once Lucasfilm showed us a clip earlier this year, so of course you'd put that in.
2) Sandstorm scene from Return of the Jedi. Knew it existed just couldn't find a copy of it. I guess my quest we be completed September 16th
3) The Mon Calamari Pilot is a new one for me. I'm not really sure where he fits into the story line but if I had to guess it would be Return of the Jedi. Either way it'll interesting to find out.
4) The Wampa scene from Empire Strikes Back. I jumped with excitement after seeing this clip. There had always been a rumor that it existed but I'd never scene evidence until this! SUPER exicted about that one.
5) Shield Generator invasion scene from Return of the Jedi. Again, never knew about it until this. Wow. Lucas does have a secret or two left in the vault. Who knew?
But don't think I'm letting Lucas off the hook for delivering these to the Blu Ray community. He KNEW that if he didn't put deleted scenes in it, we weren't buying. I still loathe Lucas for waiting over 30 years to finally release this material.
That being said, have a nice day folks, I may post more later...

Best treatments for Bells Palsey
Most of you didn't know this but I just recently got over Bell's Palsey this month. I came down with it shortly after 4th of the July and took a couple of weeks before getting back to normal.
And since the same thing might happen to you, I thought I'd spend a little time giving you some tips on what to do if you ever have it.
First off, don't panic. Sure nobody's sure how you get it and there's really not a sure fire cure for it. But you need to stay positive no matter how long it last. I must have had a light case of it because my face didn't sag but still, you could be stuck with it for 6 weeks to 6 months depending on the case.
Regardless of how long it takes, you should know they have a surgery for those folks who can't get over it. Talking to my doctor it works quite well. But let's not dwell on that shall we? Let's talk about what the best treatments are.
1) Sleep
2) B-12 (a lot of it)
My doctor gave me steroids and anti-viral medicine and to be honest it was a complete waste of my money. I read online somewhere that if you took B-12 it would help shorten your condition.
They weren't kidding.
After the first week I started getting my facial functions back and the week after that I was virtually cured!
So take it from me, sleep (don't panic) and LOT'S of B-12. I was taking 5000mcg a day. Trust me. Though it may take a little longer than mine to heal, it works. AND it'll save you $150 in worthless medicine.

Let's go Mets! (6)
The Met's win!!
What a great game. I enjoyed seeing Mookie Wilson (their first base coach) most of all! I just wish I could have gotten a game ball but no luck there.
Overall it was great not only seeing my Mets win but seeing them "live". There's NOTHING like a live baseball game!
Ok folks, that's all for now. I'll post little something tomorrow too.
Hope your weekend's going well!

Steak and Shake Adventure
So I went to Steak and Shake this weekend in Dallas and for the past few years I've visited this restaurant I've ordered a dark chocolate shake every time and every time (3 to be exact) they've given me something else.
The first time they came out with a mint chocolate chip shake. When I told the lady what it was, she got the manager and had me THROWN OUT of the restaurant!! No joke!! I couldn't believe it. I wasn't even making a big deal out of it either!
Here's a pic of me looking at the shake the shot me out of the door on my first visit there.

The 2nd time I got a vanilla instead... so I shut my mouth and ate it while everyone else fell out of the chairs laughing.
So I'm thinking there's no way this can happen again right? But when my order comes out what do I see? A strawberry banana shake! UNBELIEVABLE!! What are the freaking odds it would happen again?!

Finally, after several years (and another trip back to the kitchen for the waiter) I received my dark chocolate shake. Incredible!! I was SO shocked when they actually brought it to me that I didn't know what to do for the first few minutes.

So how was it? GREAT!
I'll post more on our trip tomorrow.
