A "me" update

So what's been going on with me lately?

I don't do these enough and I forget, most of you who read the blog live far away and don't have me as a friend on Facebook. (because I don't have Facebook) So I've decided it's time for another "me" update.

I'm busy, working.

That's about it. Sure I was involved with the "Back to the 80's" show recently, but besides that I haven't had time for much else.

Work's been keeping me hopping. We lost 2 trainers in our department at the beginning of the year and I'm helping pick up the slack until we got some more hired and ready. My job includes a lot of nights and graveyard shifts. (yuck!) So it pretty much ties up my evenings to do anything else with.

Don't get me wrong, I still love my job and the folks I work with, it's just super busy at the moment working wild hours and stuff.

But things will start to calm down... in June and hopefully it'll be back to normal again.

K. I'm done. So... how are you?

Faerie Tale Theatre

For Valentine's Day, Megan bought me "Faerie Tale Theatre" on DVD and let me tell you, it's AWESOME!

Old tales, retold with some of the biggest stars in the 80's and most of them you even know today!

Jeff Bridges, Pee Wee Herman, Christopher Reeves, Robin Williams, James Earl Jones, Matthew Broderick, Vicent Price, Anjelica Huston, Mick Jagger, Susan Sorandon, John Lithgow, Carrie Fisher, Billy Crystal, Jeff Goldblum, and even directors such as Francis Ford Coppalla, and Tim Burton worked on one episode each!

Amazingly, it's still entertaining today. I've laughed hard in just about every episode. If you're looking for something entertaining for the whole family to enjoy I highly recommend it. Don't believe me? Order "The Three Little Pigs" on Netflix and see if you don't go out and buy it!

Waiting for baseball

With baseball season kicking off in just a few days now, I'm really starting to get the itch!

My Mets won't be any good this year, I'm not even going to pretend we'll have a winning record either. I think I'll just be happy when it's back. I'm not much into baseball season anymore. Even March Madness gives me the yawns these days.

SOLD OUT!

Hi folks.

Well, we had our first show tonight and it went well. Unfortunantly, if you didn't get your tickets this week, they're sold out for every performance.

It's amazing to see how hard these kids work on the show. It's a true pleasure to be working with such a young dedicated cast such as they are.

Down with the NFL

Well, well, well... what have we here? A lock out in football. Hmmm... was anyone surprised? Which major sport has this NOT happened to??

How long will it last? Some folks are getting worried they won't have a season. In my wildest dreams I can't imagine a situation where they would be right. The players WILL cave in. They don't have any other choice. (Or does joining the UFL count?)

Sadly this will be old news by April and the season will continue on as always. Not one game will be missed!

But what if... what if it DID happen. Oh how much fun would that be!! The strike KILLED baseball back in '95, they still haven't been the same ever since. And the NHL? They almost slipped into nothingness altogether with theirs. I'm pretty sure the only folks committing suicide during that time were Canadians. (am I right Jad?!)

If it were to happen to football then what then? It'd no doubt hurt the sport but to what degree? Would the MLB and NBA stand to gain anything from it? Oh for sure! What about the rest of the world? Guess what folks, they don't even care. We're the ONLY country that loves the sport, soccer reigns supreme world wide.

I'm not going to lie, I'd love to see this happen. I'd love to see folks scrambling around for other sports. I'd love to see MLB rise from the ashes and take a higher place in the sports fan's heart.

But like I said. It'll never happen and before May comes, we'll already be talking about how relieved we are that football isn't going away.

Just my thought for today.

Back to the 80's

Megan's been a busy bee. On top of doing a 70's show at the dinner theatre she's also choreographing (hot dang, spelled it right on my first try!) a show called "Back to the 80's"

If you love 80's music, style and humor THIS is the show you've got to see! These kids have really torn in up on the stage and are looking GREAT at practice! Here's clip of Alex, showing you how to moon walk.

and here's another clip from "Get into my car" Yes, that's a REAL car!!

The show opens this weekend only at the Strauss and is well worth your time if you consider going. If I get more footage by this week I'll be sure to post it later on.

Bye bye Kirk Herbstreit

News reached my royal ear today that Kirk Herbstreit (the most biased ESPN analyst in college football) is moving from his home state of Ohio, to Memphis Tenn.

The news came as a shock to some, but according to Kirk he "couldn't deal with all the negativity he was getting from Ohio State fans for not staying true to his Buckeye roots"

Is this some kind of a joke?! For how many years has Kirk picked them to win the National Title? It's been 5 straight since I've been counting. This guy is so biased for Ohio State it's not even funny!!

This CAN NOT be the real reason he's leaving. Must be something else... hmmmm... trying to show the audience he's really not that one-sided when it comes to picking them to win again for the 6th time?!?!

I doubt it.

March Sadness

I don't know when and I don't know why but I haven't been feeling college basketball as much as I used too. I guess it started over the past 2 years or so. I've slowly become disenchanted with the entire sport.

True, I never loved the NBA, but on the college level it's gotten boring too. Who cares. Most of the stars are "one and done" in the leagues anyway before moving up to the majors. It's just not that fun anymore to watch.

That being said, will I be watching any of the tournament this year? I doubt it. I didn't watch a single game last year, I have no idea who won. (but it had to be Duke, Syracuse, North Carolina or Kansas) So this year's just the same.

Your thoughts?

Meet the Nephews

It's been a while since I've talked about my nephews. Let me show you a few video clips of them now;

Oh course, Archer is the oldest one. Here he is playing "Angry Birds" on Meg's phone.

Then there's Jaiken, the clowner of the three.

Oz, the "little guy" He's in that phase where he'll say anything you want him too... I forsee great video clips to come from him...

Talis is the newest guy to the family and he doesn't say much.

That's all for now folks! C-ya later!

Circus videos (7)

This was Megan's favorite... the dancing elephant.

K, that's all for today! C-ya tomorrow!!

Circus videos (6)

The tight rope people were incredible! We were right there for all the action too!!

Circus videos (5)

This guy was amazing and had many close calls on the wheel. As you can see there was one moment I had to look up from what I was filming because I couldn't believe it.

Circus videos (4)

This lasso cowboy was from London and was just as funny on the mic as he was entertaining with the rope!

There were several other acts he did but it didn't really turn out well on camera so this is all I have of him. Trust me though, he was good!

Circus videos (3)

The Trampoline comedian did a really good job. I was happy to see how many acts they'd changed since last year.

Circus videos (2)

More pre-circus craziness.

Circus videos (1)

Today I'm posting vids of our circus trip this past weekend. Check back with us throughout the day for more posts...
