Best Chick Flicks cont'd...

Another Matthew movie!! "How to Loose a guy in 10 Days" is one of my favorites because Kate Hudson is in it. She IS my most favorite actress and her and Matthew put together makes a comedy.
Say Anything is a great 80's movie. John Cusack is trying to win the affection of Ione Skye, who is a little out of his league. But the ending is happy ever after and that's what makes this a good chick flick.
Okay...This movie had to go in here somewhere. Marilyn Monroe in "How to Marry a Millionaire" is one of her best films. There are three women who scheme to discover how they can marry a millionaire. I won't give away much but in the end, it's never how you plan. This is a must see if not seen already!
Anna Faris and Rob Schneider in "The Hot Chick"!! What more can I say!
And of course last but not least...Pretty Woman! Julia Roberts ends up breaking a rule and falling for one of her clients. What makes this movie so interesting is he falls in love with her too! After taking her shopping and pampering her like there is no bad economy...this movie deserves to be in here! What girl wouldn't want to be her in the movie (except for certain parts)?

That's it for the "Chick Flick" category! I know there were several I left out! Not intentionally though!!

Honorable Mentions:
-When Harry met Salley
-Sweet Home Alabama
- A Walk to Remember
- Sleepless in Seattle
- Becoming Jane
- You've Got Mail

That's it guys!! Hope you have a great Week!!

Best Chick Flicks

This is another movie category that needed to be tackled, but not by a guy. So... I (Megan) will be bringing you the top 10 chick flicks in my opinion. Now, I do realize that there are WAY too many to name, so if I leave out any good ones, I apologize.

We can't have a "chick flick" category without having Matthew McConaughey in it. Failure to Launch is about a guy whose parents hired this girl to get their 30 yr old son to move out of the house. This is a comedy throughout the whole movie...plus it has a good looking guy in it. What else does there need to be?!
This is probably one of the best chick flicks! The Notebook is so sweet and romantic and you can't help but love all the characters. Even though it makes me cry everytime I watch it, it is still fantastic!
This is a great movie because it has a lot of dancing and a great story line. This best part about this movie is the very last scence. Being the dork i am, I learned this dance and even taught it to Matt. Maybe he can show you the whole dance one day. Maybe sing-along-4?
Oh my gosh you guys...Matt says that Legally Blonde IS my favorite movie. I love Reese Witherspoon and I think she did a fantastic job in this movie. This is by far my favorite movie by her (other than walk the line). It's all about pink and it has a chihuahua in it!!!!
Last movie for the day is While You Were Sleeping. This is a great movie showing how things can change for you unexpectedly. Sandra Bullock's character was in love with this guy and after saving his life, so to speak, she ended up falling in love with the brother. It has a good story plot and all in all it's a great film. Highly recommended to see!

That's all for today! Be back with more tomorrow!!

What's wrong with this picture?

A local Fox network left veiwers outraged after an evening news report that day. Someone put something in the background that the station manager didn't notice until the calls came flooding in. Needless to say this was a huge embarassment to the entire station.

Can you see what it is?

Look again......

Under the desk? A KKK mask. Whoa. I didn't see it at first either. Wild huh?

Last Call Movie Round Up!

Today I'm going to just talk about a few good films that don't really seem to fit any catagory I've covered before. Here we go....

Truth or Consequences N.M. is a fantastic film. Rent it. Love it. This is pre-24 Kiefer too. Not that he's bad now, but you don't see his "Jack Bauer" character in the film. It's good stuff. I bought it when I saw it at Wal Mart for only $5. *what a steal!)

Best scene? The "quarter" scene. (I won't spoil it for ya!)
Grosse Point Blank is another film that just doesn't get old. This action comedy really needs to been seen more than once to get all the humor placed in it through out the film.  I never tire of seeing this flick.
Battle Royal. Banned in the U.S. for years (which is why I got it in the first place) This classic puts a school of kids on a deserted island to duke it out to the end using a wide assortment of weapons they were given in the begining. It's a foreign flick of course and confusing at times, but really a neat idea that came out way before the Steve Austin "copycat" movie.

Best Scene: When the kid pulls his weapon out of the backpack.... a trash can lid.
Boondock Saints. So good they're finally making a sequel! The story is of two brothers who get caught up in a "mafia" blunder and go on the hunt as hitmen to take them all out. But they soon discover that though they've never done anything like this before.... they're quite good. Why? Find out and watch....

Best Scene: Their final confrontation with the "6-man" army.
The Usual Suspects. Chances are you've already seen this movie so I won't talk about it much. Great story, great acting, great ending. You can't go wrong with this one!

Best Quote: "And like that.... he's gone"

Finally, the one at bottom (won't let me type below the pic) Is "Way of the Gun" Same great story like all the others but an interesting chain of events, plus great action, PLUS great ending make this movie well worth your time.

Best of the 80's!

Now let's hit a few more other 80's favs! The Last Starfighter. I remember watching this movie and thinking...."Whoa, this is like Earth meets Star Wars" And it involved a video game which made it all the more excellent.
The Princess Bride. We all know it. (some of us by heart.... every line) From start to Finish they'll never make a movie this well again.
Space Camp. I wanted to go so bad after watching this movie and when I finally got to Huntsville.. I was crushed. No talking driods, no space cadet uniforms and no flying in a NASA space shuttle. RATS!!
If you haven't seen this movie before, please do. It's the most un-original 80's ending ever. Menaing, nothing ends up going well for our hero. He doesn't get the girl, win the big game or save the day. The put a small twist at the end to give it a "Happy Ending" but overall, kinda sad.
"What is this?" You ask? Why it's Condorman of course!!! What a great 80's moive!! But did anybody see it? I doubt.
You knew this one was coming didn't you? Neverending Story is the "end all to be all" for 80's movies. No movie had quite an impact on me as a child than this one did. In fact, I need to add this to my DVD collection now that I think about it! What kid would not have peed himself over finding a copy of that book at their local library. I don't know. Good movie... no wait... GREAT MOVIE!!

Honorable Mentions: Too many to name.

Please don't mention: Molly Ringwald movies. Yes they were good but I was never a fan.

Megan Mentions: Dirty Dancing. Because NO ONE puts baby in a corner!!!

Best 80's Flicks!

Ok, I'm going to start this one off by saying there is NO WAY I'll be able to name every great film from this decade because there were WAY too many to name. I won't be mentioning any movies I've made reference to in the past but that still doesn't shorten the list so... starting with Short Circuit.... here we go!
Back to the Future. I recently just watched these last year and I still gotta say they did a great job with the story. Who DIDN'T want this car when the movie came out? I even thought as a kid that this was the car of the future! (Isn't it just a little wierd that Christopher Loyld hasn't aged A DAY since this movie?!)
Laberyth. Another awesome classic. (and the only time we enjoy David Bowie on screen) This movie has so many quotes, I don't know which one to leave off with! Hmmm... how bout a line from a song "...your eyes can be so cruel...."
Just looking at this picture makes you want to see it again doesn't it? Flight of the Navigator had you wishing you had your own space ship to fly around in yourself! Great flick!
Ah yes, last but not least it's Mr Bueller saving the day. I kid you not.... I saw this movie as many times as I had star wars as a kid. Of course Star Wars viewings have far exceeded it now but I wouldn't mind popping this classic back in for another run. This was one of the first movies I got on DVD when it came out.

Be back tomorrow with more!

Sing-A-Long 3

A short note here about the video "Sing-A-Long 3" YouTube just sent me a message claiming it will not be available in some countries because it contains a "copyrighted" song in it. (Duh!)

But I think it's kinda funny to say our video has been banned in the Netherlands. : )
